SO doing the back line flanks without the team is bad Moria play but you should be DPS first and heal second. The role is support not healer and that goes for every support character. Your primary goal is to put out more damage than you receive. Heal bots are worse in OW2 than DPS supports. Tanks and DPS need to adjust and not freak out if they are not at constant full health.
THIS! support is called support not feckin healer!!! we have to balance what we do according to how the game is going.

I'm a mid Diamond moira and I disapprove of your message, DPS Moira is op. (well in reality Moira is all about maximizing your dmg while healing your team enough so they dont die, you can top up after a fight is won, but you really need to know when you want to throw dmg orbs and help burst a target and when to prio healing etc. Healing after all is limited by how dmg your opponent does, your dmg isn't, so dmg has a way higher ceiling for optimization and overhealing is also a thing that just wastes your existence..)

I just recently started playing Moira out of sheer spite bc I have seen way too many dps moiras out there. I focus on healing and dmg is just a bonus but I still end up w 20-40 elims just from that alone. She’s so good if you know how to use her properly

the problem with dps moira'ing is that she's shit at dealing damage
she can do it easily and reliably, and she can get some cheeky angles, but 90% of the roster does better damage than her. and to get that damage, part of the playstyle we associate with a "dps moira" is ignoring their team. dealing damage is important on literally every hero, but on moira that isnt your sole role
in contrast, Moira has the strongest healing potential in the game. enable your teammates by keeping them alive and assisting their kills. enabling your teammates is actually core to playing every hero effectively, but it's important to emphasize it here
Dps moira is the easy way to climb diamond as a new player. I think GM is the difficult part. But even Master is easy
i love playing moira. her movement is fun and her ranged for heals and damage is CRAZYYY. But only DPS moira's annoy the shit outta me bc the whole team will be critical and they're just focusing on kills when its about get point, robot or escorting. Moira is under support so she should be used as one as well 😒😒
Support can be given in many ways.
Personally as good as healing is making sure they don’t have anyone healing them and or picking off stragglers to get heat off your team seems just as useful especially if there’s another healed
I usually carry the team as DPS Moira. It’s all about timing your attacks in conjunction with your orbs, and lining up your orbs for the proper rebound angles. Beyond that, always phase in and out in conjunction with your jumps so the enemy has a hard time focusing on you. Occasionally throw in a heal or a heal orb to complete the package.
I usually start off as heals on Moira, but if it gets slow I dive in the backline and kill off their support and dps to dive back and continue to heal.
I almost always use damage orbs to regain my heals unless the team needs a ton of heals at some point I go with heal orbs.
Hate to admit that DPS Moira is probably my best character currently. Though I promise for every 5k damage I'm at least 4k heals so I'm only super cancer to the enemy team 😂
For the record I'm now a far better Lucio player 👌

I guess I categorize myself as a “DPS Moira” but the second I see any of my teammates lower on health. I fade and heal them, but I also get on a good day, 20 to 30 kills and about 10 K heels, and 9 to 8K damage

As a healer main I agree that Moira onesly sucks, but you can still do some big plays and heal your squad in an efficient way, the only problem that she has are her spheres, they should make em slower every time and not just when you hit/heal someone

I got accused of being a dps moira yesterday because i had most the damage on my team(about 7000). But i also had the most heals of the whole game(about 17.000). dps players dont undetstand theyre the problem when the support is doing more damage then them.

as a moira main a good moira need to do something i call a 50/50 if your team is fine you can dps support them but if your team is not good at all you left click that what i call a 50/50 i usually do 7k damage for 16k-18k heal a 50/50
Fun fact a full (if you play really well) moira dps no heal (did the test before ow2 in ow1 in a 6 stack) can reach 19k damage

I got diamond easily by abusing dps rollout moira
I'm a DPS Moira. All the blames come to me if team loses even with my best stats (such as on average 40+ elims, top dmg 16-25k+ dmg nearly 0 death or sometimes even healed more than other healer). They even threaten to report me with the my best stats. In my honest opinion, DPS Moira is good if a DPS Moira is willing to come back and heal more than DPS when the team is keep dying (which I do). So I disagree with your post. FYI, My SR is Gold 4
