This is why support have it rough after 2 hours of your team blaming you for not healing enough when they are bullet sponges you lose the will to play and just quit
Honestly, if I could crack open the game's code and change the values so each support deals like, 150 healing per second, shit man, I'd be all over that. But unless that happens, players need to understand only so much healing per second is possible, and at a certain point, supports can't heal through the damage if you're basically streaking through the front lines like a city center and eating as many bullets as possible.

You should try and play Ana, she's also in support but because of her lack of movement abilities it means you have to play in a different way, you cant really rush in as Ana the same way you can with Lucio, I think it would be intresting to see a montage of you getting better at sleeping flanking tracers
Yeah, I'd love to see him play a support hero that's not basically made for 5v5 like Lucio is.

Learning lucio is hands down the most fun anyone could ever have.
As a lucio main, I almost never go on large losing streaks. He’s an extremely high skilled character, so if you figure him out, you climb pretty easy. If you’re not climbing, you’re where you’re supposed to be.

Great video! But in my opinion real Lucio gameplay starts in mid diamond, when enemy dps stop being bots that can't hit you only because of your "surfing" skills and you need to position yourself rightly to be able to heal, deal damage, protect your snipers, attack enemy's ones and have some willpower to not quite the game because of constant blame.
Players in diamond are also much better at utilizing your speed boost

@@dannwaxhd4517 the fun part is, that when you first get diamond you will start to play more safely. Then you will understand that it is not the way to play as well and will start to play more aggressively again. And you will be changing your play style untill find out that it must be something in between. At least it worked like that for me.
@@nazarohoniuk8571 month later, yes, i feel more free to bully enemies and wallhide/running, i was a gears comp player and there exist a lot of things on common with gears smart wallbouncing and wallride, its all about mental games and angles, im tryng to adapt things than i know from gears to lucio and its really working, i really enjoy play w this caracter, i just need get better w my aim bc it sucks lmao😂

@@nathancura9756 there's a specific video out there called "a questionable overwatch youtuber" basically stuff like him saying it's not that had for like a 20yr old to date a 17yr old (obviously keeping in mind he lives in Mexico) some other things like that. I heard somewhere eskay and frogger tried to accuse him of faking cancer but I don't believe that one all too much
@@CalIunn Redshell definately didn't fake his cancer considering how quickly he deteriated, and in regards to a 20 year old dating a 17 year old, its not really an issu in a lot of parts of the world (EU and AUS, as well as South America). Only the US is it seen as taboo cause of their own legislation around it.
Regardless, he's not proven to do anything that's hurtful to anyone so I think he's fine to watch. Until there's concrete evidence, I'll still think he's a decent guy

That's why whenever I play support, I struggle picking up on what to do with lucio. Riding walls, picking which beat, and when to attack are too much for me in an already complicated game
People will never understand until they play hours of support just how rough it can be, you could be doing everything you can and still your team loses. I've been hard stuck in silver since the bronze 5 bug. I'll go on a run as Bap and start climbing... only to be hit with a long stretch of loses for various reason, some my team and some of my own but I just keep playing lol.

You want to know how Skill base Matchmaking works in games nowadays. Well mostly with rank? So pretty much like this, you said you went on a winning streak with Bap right?
So what matchmaking will do is put you against players who probably have around the same win streak as you. Now one or two things will happen. You'll get a team of players that you'll have to Carry cause chances are they're lower rank than you or been losing games so the matching system feels like since you been playing good for a few games it'll force you to sweat for players who haven't been playing to good in order to get them outta a losing streak. Or the other team just got lucky as far matching with good players.🤷 This apply to casual games sometimes. That's the first scenario!
The second is you're playing against a team of 3-5 players who are party up if you solo q alot which sounds like you do. In my experience with rank in games if you solo q you probably won't make it past Plat unless you party up with other players or you sweat/carry your teammates. The best way to avoid the first scenario is to stop playing rank for a few hours so the system won't match you with players lower rank or players that you have to carry. But it's no guarantee solution but simply a quick way to avoid some bad players. I'm gold with all my roles currently. But doing qualify phase I got silver in all my roles which made it easier for me to get into gold. I can't even imagine trying to make outta bronze tbh. 😅 Just know when to stop playing rank when you on go on a win or losing streak so the matching system can refresh for you. Been working out for me👍
@@parrymylogicthen290 Yeah I think that is the strat I am going to go with more in season 2 for sure. Honestly the second scenario sounds more of what I thought was happening. Code sees I have been doing great and says " go carry these low bronze since you are doing so well" bro support is hard to carry cuz even if you are doing your job... doesn't mean your team will either, my other issue is I don't know when to stop cuz I'm always like " just one more and I can get out of this streak" instead of calling it a night lol. Yeah in OW1 I was always high gold in all my roles but I didn't play hardly at all in season 36. Then I got hit for over half of the this season being stuck in Bronze 5 no matter if I
won 21 games in a row lol. Highest I got in both Tank and support is Silver 1 and then got dropped back down and can't get passed Silver 3 now.
I do need to find more people to play with and getting a buddy of mine back into overwatch as well. Cuz yeah I only solo queue atm but been starting to make friends in game to queue with as well.

Also I found it very helpful to change my mouse grip. My middle finger is always on scroll wheel and I use my ring finger for right click. Makes it more easy to jump suddenly while still doing things if I have a certain finger dedicated to this one function.

On console my jump is on left bumper and I put switch tracks on A button cause it's less important to not having your finger on joystick while changing compared to when your jumping. You alwasy wanna be able to look around while skating, jumping etc.

There's more dmg in the game than healing. And pretty much all dmg is burst, meaning a support can be healing you when you suddenly get helix rocketted and killed.

Mercy main here have to spend time balancing healing, damage boost and surviving and you have to survive snipers, tracer, Winston, Moira, reaper, Dva, sombra and the rest of the annoying divers and 3 things happen, you survive and you heal and damage boots? You feel good and some teammates thank you. You concentrate too much on healing to survive you spend most of your time dying a lot and get blamed, you concentrate too much on surviving they die and blame you. To top things off at bronze rank tank can fly into 5v1 and expect you to keep them alive forcing me to switch to Zen or Baptist. But I enjoy getting people to do their best 😕 actually that is my sister I am just enjoying the drama of surviving

All the nobodies in this comment section crying about how hard it is to climb on support, meanwhile I placed low silver and climbed back to Diamond in a few days.
If you can’t climb, spoiler alert, you belong in that rank.
Sure, but the road to getting better is harder. As Damage all you need to do is hit more shots. More Shots = Higher Rank. Hitting more shots doesn't necessarily get you higher ranks as support because your shots are less valuable (since you have heals and speed and other support stuff). This means you need to get mechanically better to hang with the higher ranks, but you also need to increase your overall effectiveness because you also have a job which needs to be done, and you cannot win this game if, say, your tank is dying over and over again or your DPS get picked over and over again. Sure the same situation can apply if you are playing Damage, but if you land your shots earlier and faster and more accurately, you can somewhat mitigate that. As support, getting into a position to "frag out" means your team survived long enough for your "less lethal" kit to be effective and net a frag.
For example. As Genji I can quickly and frequently take duels against enemy players, particularly ones I identify as isolated and even if I cannot beat the guy then and there, I can deflect and get out. Overall this process takes very little time, and as a Genji it's my JOB to do so. As Lucio I can also identify isolated targets and take a duel. But my kit is mostly for healing and supporting multiple people on my team, so if I'm doing that, THEY aren't getting healed or speed and I'm not building my ult as fast. To make matters worse, if I fail to win that fight, it's slightly more risky for me to disengage since I don't have any way of mitigating damage other than hoping I can heal through it or speed away from it. This means I am also wasting a CD which is meant to be used for my team on myself. If I do NOT get value from that duel I took, I set my TEAM back. To top it all off, my damage and burst is much lower than a Genji it would also take me longer to kill them EVEN if I get into a winning position in that duel. During all that time, there is a chance my team, whether it's my other support who might need help, or just anything else that could be happening while I'm taking on this isolated target, and because I'm take a slow slog of a duel, I'm not there to help someone deal with a threat I potentially could of.
Basically Support's kits, as bloated as they are, aren't designed to carry in OW2. They are designed to, well, support someone else carrying. That said, if you are trying to support someone else, they need to be able to carry in the first place. It's this reliance on a team member, or team, that inherently makes it harder to carry games with. Like what if I SUPPORT my Genji taking on an isolated target. Of course, you'd just win and everything would be hunky dory, but what if your Genji isn't in VC and he isn't going after isolated targets at all, as in it's not even on his radar to do so. THIS is the reason it's hard to carry as support. If I was a GM level support it'd just stomp out these Plat level DPS players and just ego duel them and climb. But I'm not. I don't have to be slightly better than a DPS player to beat him, I have to be significantly better. If I'm playing Genji my hero is designed to duel and kill or disengage from isolated targets. If I'm Lucio my kit is designed to help my team speed and take engagements and heal the over the course of a long fight, but if I cannot get my team to engage around my speed properly or my team is split up and taking separate fights, I cannot benefit them with my heals which are more of an over time sort of deal. And going for the duels against the DPS is more of a coin flip because I AM in plat, so of course it's more of an even MU, or even in their favor. But while I do that I am ineffective at supporting my team and If I'm trying to take a duel to get a pick on someone and my support partner dies, it'd be all for naught anyways.

@@GriFFonRec4 Damage requires a lot more then just "hitting more shots," and is probably the hardest role to climb on purely because of how much effort you have to put in to achieve very little. I can't really put it into words, but the way you voice your argument, I can already tell either mechanically or mentally you're closer to low metal rank. I understand you're probably upset about this, so I'll try not to be mean about it. I'm also not going to put in a lot of effort just for what seems like a bait post, so if I don't specifically cover one of your points, just assume it was entirely meaningless, and not worth responding to.

I'm about to give you the best advice you'll ever receive. Are you ready? If taking a duel as Lucio doesn't get you value, don't do it.
If playing Lucio is not getting you value, swap off Lucio.
If you do not understand how to play Lucio effectively, and are unwilling to learn, don't play Lucio.
Are you getting all of this? You should probably write it down a couple times so it really sinks in. 💀
The reason you're ineffective at supporting your team isn't because "support hard," you're just really, REALLY bad at support and don't seem to want to learn. You don't even seem willing to learn how to play Genji. They're completely different roles, containing completely different heroes, who do a lot more than just "get a pick" or "speed boost the team." Overwatch is complex, characters are complex, and until you understand that, you'll remain metal.
Side note, you contradict yourself HARD lol. Taking a "duel" on Genji, wasting several cooldowns, and not even getting the elim is just as bad as taking a "duel" as Lucio, wasting several cooldowns, and not getting the elim. You don't understand how asinine that sounds?
The top 300 Mercy tried to climb to GM and took her almost 2 months to climb solo (bronze to GM)
I guess she deserved to be Diamond then?
