    Recording sounds great! 2 things, never thought about putting a 414 in Omni on the side of the cab, need to try that. Also, line up the label on the 57 with the rib in the 121 for best phase, minor detail but I always try for that, it aligns the capsules.
    With that said I’m going to try the 414 setup w the royer/57, sounds like I’m in the room. Q: what preamp and converter did you use?

    This might be a daft question. I have a Friedman twin sister that sounds great clean with good reverb. Are two rock really on another level (not withstanding Marshall/Fender bias). Thinking about pulling the trigger. The GAS is real 😂

    • @avinaashmunohur1175
      @avinaashmunohur1175 7 місяців тому

      I have both a Classic Reverb Signature and a Dirty Shirley (the first generation without the Gain switch) so I can give you my two cents here. They are very different amps. The Dirty Shirley is a great amp that definitely does some great cleans and has a very fat crunch that really sounds glorious for that Led Zep/ACDC thing. But I find myself barely playing that amp.m these days. I cannot get myself to sell it as it has sentimental value to me, but I really mostly play my Classic Reverb Sig now. It's just a more addictive amp to me. It also has made me evolve big time as a player and I'm definitely much more in the Gibson guitar into a Fender camp now when it comes to tone. I really aim for the JD Simo and Mike Bloomfield types of tones : presence and bite that still has clairity and thickness in the mids. I have sold most of my guitars as well and have reduced my rig to a CS Telecaster and two Murphy Lab Gibsons (a 58 Les Paul and a 64 ES335). These guitars plugged into my Two-Rock, with a Klone and a Timmy/Jan Ray gets me the tones I have in my head and I couldn't be happier. In fact, i have a Vintage Deluxe 40W combo on order that i should be getting early next year. I do still plug my Dirty Shirley from time to time, and it can be a lot of fun, but it's simply not what I go for anymore. It's not less of an amp, it's just different from the Two-Rock, which gets me the tones and the playing sensations that I'm after.

      @@avinaashmunohur1175 really appreciate your input buddy. As I get older I’m preferring a clean amp with pedals for the dirt. The Friedman saturated sounds amazing especially with a Gibson but that’s only about 20% of what im playing. I don’t know if it’s lacklustre clean with single coils or if im looking for something that’s not out there. I need to try a two rock!

    • @danharding9136
      @danharding9136 7 місяців тому

      @@djt6546 thanks for you input buddy. I’ll try a royalist too! Ideally I want the Marshall and Fender type amp. How do you find the TRs for home use? Is an attenuator a necessity?

    • @eldricarpilleda
      @eldricarpilleda 7 місяців тому

      Have tried and owned a Two Rock and a Friedman Buxom Betty. I can honestly say Two Rock amps are on another level. But you have to be loud and be pushing some air in order to differentiate them. The Two Rocks are up there with Matchless and their "3d" tone. When loud, It literally feels like the tone is hugging you and keeping you warm without blasting your ear drums off.
