You know what? This trailer does the movie some justice. The whole movie is just like this trailer. Hard to find something like that in a trailer these days.
The fact that Nicole Kidman and Alexander Skarsgard went from playing an abusive couple in Big Little Lies to play mother and son in The Northman feels weird 😂😂😂
It does kinda feel weird she is not that much older than him. I feel bad for her to play mother to first jason momma now Alexander. Atleast as an Atlantian it was believable if she didnt look that old as they r meta beings but here they r humans.
They probably did it so she could appear young enough early in the film when she's seen in shots with Amleth while he's still a child. They can more easily use makeup to make her look older in the later scenes with a fully grown Amleth than they can use CGI to de-age an older actress for the early scenes. It's hardly the first time people not that different in age played parent and child. I think Sean Connery was only 12 years older than Harrison Ford, despite playing his father in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. If you want a more extreme example, Angela Lansbury played Lawrence Harvey's mother in The Manchurian Candidate, even though she was only one year older than Harvey in real life. On the opposite end of the spectrum, in the TV series The Jeffersons, Isabel Sanford was 21 older than Sherman Hemsley, so although she played his wife, she really _was_ old enough to be his mother. As long as the actors look the right age on screen though, it really doesn't matter.
The Northman is a Viking version of Braveheart and Gladiator. It is an excellent movie! One of the most violent movies I've seen; that scene raiding the village is hard to watch, but that was reality in those days. The directing and cinematography of the film is excellent ... this trailer is exciting/intriguing to watch and the only words spoken are "Fate has no Mercy ... I cannot escape my Fate". It's a good story, the protagonist (main character) goes through a lot of struggle to find his true self ... his Fate.

Just watched this movie and it literally is mind blowing. Well done
@dolimi jotoo It roughly translates to "Amleth's Saga".
Heilung in the soundtrack!!!
Hakkerskaldyr. It's Proto-Norse, btw, based on the inscriptions of the Eggja stone.
You had me at Heilung!
I'll go to the theaters for this.
hell yeah!
I'm done watching the Oscars if this movie doesn't get a nomination next year... Heart racing sequences, jaw dropping photography, awesome score, and absolutely outstanding acting!!!
It's been a long time since I left a movie theater super shocked, this movie is a gem and I beg you to at least give it a chance. I loved it from start to finish and when I finished I wanted more.
This soundtrack is so badass
You know what? This trailer does the movie some justice. The whole movie is just like this trailer. Hard to find something like that in a trailer these days.
Jesus fucking christ, this is going to be absolute madness and a beast, I love it
This is the best movie I've seen this year absolutely raw and authentic.
I saw this movie and I loved this movie
I don’t think I’ve ever been more anticipated for any film before in my life 💪😲😵
You need to get a life.
@@kanikagaral7637 Yes Nic is not much older than he is and you can see it in the movie. They probably should have aged her a little.
@@carolkelly8848 or cast someone age appropriate
I literally had a mind blank and forgot they were married in big little lies lol.
It's a good story, the protagonist (main character) goes through a lot of struggle to find his true self ... his Fate.
"I cannot escape my feet". Great line. Can't wait to see this.
Alexander Skarsgard was amazing in this ⚔️🔥. What an actor
This is one of the two Heilung songs I've ever heard (the other being Norupo) and lemme tell you I nearly shit myself when I heard it here.
This is gonna be masterful.
Oh that musical score, holy moly
Sounds like a slightly edited version of Hakkerskaldur by Heilung!
The single greatest film of our time.
The Heilung music and cameos sold me alone, the theme and darkness of of the trailer was just the Cherry on top
Just got out of the theater, the movie is poem, best movie I've watched in a while, already in theaters in Mexico ❤
I’ve been so excited for this movie since the first trailer arrived !
This Looks Bloody good
I just got back from watching it! Phenomenal movie! Acting and directing on point! and don’t get me started on the music and visuals, top notch!
Plz watch this movie! It needs all the support it can get:)
Where did you watch it?
@@Solo51 Faroe Island🇫🇴 it premiered on the 13th! I think Denmark also released it on the 13th:)
@@Aki-zo6gg Yeah, watched it yesterday as well. :) Great film!
I just finished it, now I'm going down the comments list telling the truth on how awful it was.
Kind of crazy how the Vikings series turned every movie fan into Viking mode! Now everyome wants to watch a good viking movie or series.
And?
Probably one of the best trailers of all time! That chanting was epic and the sounds of the drum! Damn!
I saw The Northman past saturday and it really is a masterpiece. Eggers is such an amazing filmmaker. Cant wait to see it again!
How brutal and gory was on a scale from 1 to 10?
@@mrgrumpyjinx I mean, it depends on what everyone thinks is the most brutal/gore, but I believe is between 8.5 and 10. There are some scenes that... wow.
@@ed_marin Thanks! I have my ticket for Friday and hardly wait to see it! I want to se Vikings as they are: brutal, fearless and scary!
@@mrgrumpyjinx oh you'll definitely see a lot of it! Hope you'll enjoy it! 🙌

This is everything I’ve ever wanted and more
This is the best trailer I’ve seen since Mad Max: Fury Road. And, just like Fury Road, this film more than delivers on the promise of its trailer. So goddamn good.
The fact they used Heilung in the trailer makes me extremly happy and proud, such a great treat for the ears, can't wait to watch it.
It is so good from beginning to the ending. What a masterpiece
The visuals actually look similar to fusion of what you find on God of War, Hellblade and Elden Ring
Big truth.
Holy shit! I never thought about that, even Stellen Skarsguard looks exactly like Kratos!!! My mind is Blown
This should have been the first trailer, it's far better. So excited for this.
