I blew up my first 060 today. Kaboom knocked itself off a bridge, most of the train stayed on, cursed spaghetti dangled down completely vertically from the coupler. Stood on the coal bunker, uncoupled, and rode it down into the water. That was fun!
7:42 I wouldn't say that! The engine just barely started moving right after you shut off the throttle. I'd say give it another go, time to offroad in a locomotive!!

Hey Hyce! I was just at the Roaring Camp Railroad in CA, and we rode behind a rebuilt F7, (very ugly though, cab is like a failed GP-30 copy.) And it was fun! The conductor let me throw a switch, and I also saw their Heisler #2 and thought of you and your narrow gage. They also had a shay, a climax, a small porter, and the four "Plymouth" rebuilt F7s. quite a few cockatoo screeches but no Kenosha? Has someone knocked Mr Hyce over the head? No, of course not, because Dutch-dropping a hazmat, and I lost count of how many tries to put the water tank under the standpipe. I'm also convinced the 0-6-0 is going to bounce off the rails because it hunts so much. Thanks for the fun!! :)
So the other day I found out that you need three 2-8-2s to get out of the steel mill and up the hill towards the harbor once you have over 2000 tons behind you and it's raining. If it weren't for the hill (and the rain), two engines would probably do just fine.
Also, you DO have a house in the Valley. It's the red house icon on the line just south of Forest Central. It even has a little siding so you can put the handcar there or a DE2 for personal travel.
It could also probably hold the 0-6-0. (It can hold a DM3, but if your idea of a good locomotive to have around for personal travel is the pile of rusty sadness that is the DM3, I think you might want to reconsider some of your life choices)
@@michaelimbesi2314 Agreed... and good to know. However, it's a one-way, dead-end siding and backing up may be a problem, so the 0-6-0 may not be such a good idea to have on the siding. So many ways that could go wrong, including derailing by going clean off the end of the siding! Oh, and I don't think you'd want a boiler explosion too close to where you live. Not as much of a thing in the simulator, but still...
@@TheOneTrueDragonKing The S060 is a tank engine, they are supposed to be almost as good going backward as going forward. What would make it bad for personal travel is the amount of time it would take to raise the steam and oil the loco.

if you want to use the 0-6-0 more you should really get the logistical haul license. that thing is basically perfect for logi jobs and has carried me almost all the way through derail valley's mid-game doing them.
I know this is about fun train noises, but I have a question that plagues me from time to time. So when there are mountain passes where the tracks follow the edge of what appears to be a cliff; how on in the name of "civic engineering" does the weight of trains over the track not overload and send the train and rail down slide down off the cliff?
By the way, when starting up locomotives the coal burns faster to gain more steam when the trains still. This is to make the startup times not 30 minutes apparently
Agreed. I just got the S060 and while its so much fun and capable. Its definitely a lot of things to do. Though I can't wait to try it in VR. 2 hands is better than one.
Out of interest, is there any reason to turn the loco around apart from ease of seeing controls/ gauges? I tend to run bunker first for a clearer view, but I also don't drive a real full size loco so I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong, or if it is just a preference thing. Many thanks for the video though, many laughs were had, and I can see I need to up my game as I'm very slow paced in this but I too also have places to go =D
At least in Poland they run a tender locomotive tender-first half the time. The visibility is quite bad and there is no seating position where your neck does not start to hurt. The visibility on the Ol49 or the Pt47 is better than on the S282 in game, because the tender is a different shape. AFAIK there is a lower speed limit going tender-first, but I do not know it there is such a limitation for tank engines. I rarely go above 40km/h in the game.
It just so happens that Mr. Pullman built a church in my small little town. Says so right on the NY Historic marker. I'd assume he just financed it, cuz i doubt he built a Medina Sandstone church by himself. Called the Pullman Memorial Universalist. Its a work of beauty, the sandstone comes out of quarries lining the Erie canal. Quarried the stone out of a spot until it floods, move down to the next spot. Now we got a ton of fishing and swimming holes pretty much spanning the entire Erie Canal. All of this is right next to an old branch of the NYC as well, currently a short line called the Falls Road Railroad, owned by GVT, running from Niagara Falls to Brockport, NY. It used to be double-tracked, but a scrapper bought the line at some point and now its a single track. every town along the railroad still has the old beat up station thats boarded up. Some have a business in them, some have been turned into museums. Theres just a ton of history out here. Sadly not many NYC locos(i think theres an old diesel), the largest collection of NYC passenger cars, yes.
Hey Hyce, when you guys are coming down to California, why don’t you swing by knotts berry farm to come see the #340 and galloping goose #3. Also have you seen that the RGS #41 back in Durango for its overhaul?
i got fooled by that damn steam notification sound xD i keep having an error pop up when i have my VR and full body tracking plugged in and it makes that same noise. it startled me for a second. i paused the video to look and as soon as i press play you said it was on your end
Hyce will spend millions blowing up train yards, but 2 minutes trying to get an engine not on the rails to run, "Well, we've just wasted money doing that." LOL!!
I have started streaming DV, and for some reason EVERY stream ends with a "bang", where I mess up a lot of stuff. I got a S060 license, only blew it up like 4 or 5 times
All I want to say is I'm insane enough to try to turn a wagon into a Fallout grade tender (gonna be hooded and have scrap bins on top), and whenever I get a property, I have a second wagon to add to it for groceries. Love the steam age, but I'm trying to be more green.
You do know tank engines like that can work in backwards just as well as forward, so you don't need to run around the train and all that. Take a look at various European Branch lines during the days of steam and you'll see how they operated. It's more practical to run it backwards than wying the bloody thing and trying to get it to face the right way.
The jumping out of the engine after talking about a tiny amount of responsibility, was GOLD
This is just pure ES&D gold! :D

I'd arguably say it's done the opposite for me. If Hyce can blow up a choo, makes me feel better when I inevitably blow up mine 😅😂😢
I was just rolling through out this entire video! Don't ever stop being you!
if you want to use the 0-6-0 more you should really get the logistical haul license. that thing is basically perfect for logi jobs and has carried me almost all the way through derail valley's mid-game doing them.
I know this is about fun train noises, but I have a question that plagues me from time to time. So when there are mountain passes where the tracks follow the edge of what appears to be a cliff; how on in the name of "civic engineering" does the weight of trains over the track not overload and send the train and rail down slide down off the cliff?
3:16 (oh good god)😂
ES&D got a sister company, I see
Tend to gravitate towards shenanigans
By the way, when starting up locomotives the coal burns faster to gain more steam when the trains still. This is to make the startup times not 30 minutes apparently
I love the details in the derail Valley. I am about to get it on my oculus quest 2 and I am so excited.
that's YSTH was beautiful
('Y' Switch Turnaround Hitch)
3:22 Mark we ask if you can go at Restricted Speed 😅
But the episode would still be being recorded... lol!
@@Hyce777 Management said plz
The dh4 runs across the map after it’s been derailed btw also would love to see you use the dm3 and dh4 great videos loving the series
I can’t wait until they add multiplayer. A steam locomotive definitely needs a fireman
Look, if you really don’t like the whistle and bell on the 060, just change it. We won’t judge you.
It’s called insurance fraud, what they don’t realize you was paid good money to do that 😂
It just so happens that Mr.
The de2 actually moved a bit at 7:42
18:10 actually had a 10 minute laughing fit...😂😅
Hey Hyce, when you guys are coming down to California, why don’t you swing by knotts berry farm to come see the #340 and galloping goose #3. Also have you seen that the RGS #41 back in Durango for its overhaul?
someone needs to make a good sounding 2-chime for that thing, cause doesn't it have 2 hooters? that would make it very yes
That maneuver on the De2 was just advanced kick switching.
i got fooled by that damn steam notification sound xD i keep having an error pop up when i have my VR and full body tracking plugged in and it makes that same noise. it startled me for a second. i paused the video to look and as soon as i press play you said it was on your end
The karma punishment at 10 minutes is somehow very fulfilling.
That DE2 off the rails slowly started moving as you shut it off both times lmfao
The part where he said we do a little trolling got me so good
A surprising lack of kenosha, but a welcome one!
HAHAHA, FIRMLY GRASP IT 😂😂
Hyce will spend millions blowing up train yards, but 2 minutes trying to get an engine not on the rails to run, "Well, we've just wasted money doing that." LOL!!
The 0-6-0 is so precious why are there even other trains in the game.
The flammable bois always make me feel like Beavis.
FFFFFFFFIRE! Yeah! Ffffffire is KICKASS! Heheheh
i want hyce' chasing after the loco incidents summarized as a comic. that would be hilarious
Hyce, as you can tell, I like fireballs. I still couldn't make out the center of the circle. Is it the pee cup logo with the tilting locomotive?
It appears to be, yes.
Oh boy the skins are back, load up them explodi boiz and GIVE EM ZE BEANZZZZZZZ
FYI Hyce, pressing the print button on a license (Owned or unowned) gives you a preview copy of the relevant license
If you had printed the fee for L-068, high chance it would have been damage from pushing it off the track.
The guy at the steel mill is probably like at the hell is he doing
You do know tank engines like that can work in backwards just as well as forward, so you don't need to run around the train and all that. Take a look at various European Branch lines during the days of steam and you'll see how they operated. It's more practical to run it backwards than wying the bloody thing and trying to get it to face the right way.
That's one skookum choocher of a choo-choo.
Hyce is the reason it’s called derail valley
11:28 hyce is a kettle now appearently 😂
