Very well put Ryan! Thank you. I find myself inspired to take what you say/your words of wisdom and apply it to my job here in Boston. I work at a hat store and have been trying to plant seeds there. We have some really fine hats that are made for a very specific kind of customer. I have been trying to get my boss to realize this and and encourage him to go out into the city to find the customer to BRING them to the shop, instead of waiting for them to walk in one day (which may not happen) I'm very tempted to just go do that off the clock.

ryan, im a new sales agent, and with no money, have to get leads the old fashion way....... can you talk about how at the beginning of your career did you practice scripts? , and have a morning cold calling routine (expired listing, FSBOS) and was it succesful for you?...and do you still do it?....im assuming no, cuz by now business is coming to you cuz your so well known...thx in advance, your the man ryan

I need to change my mentality when it comes to work. I keep feeling like we are all being tricked into sheeps, working for the "man", and wasting our life because of work. You probably work 24/7, and I'm curious if that amount of work makes your life worth, or is the amount of work wasting your life. I wish I didn't have any interest outside of work so I would get so bored that I choose work over other non-work activities.

The main takeaways that go to my notebook this time are:
When I got to real estate in the beginning I had no experience to rely on and I had to have confidence somehow so I had confidence in what I would know.
If a client would ask me "for how long you've been doing this?"
I'd immediatly be like "well that building has 53 units and do you know who lived there in 2008?" and just go on fact and fact and fact because facts are easy, it's all public information.
If you don't know your shit, get another job.
* A job is a sitting pile of water that starts to stink, a career is a running river that has a place to go
* The deals are not done between computers, the deals are done between the buyer and the seller.
Same thing like Fidelity and E-Trade didn't cut out Goldman.
* Instead of just trying to do it on your own, work with somebody else and listen to what they say, see how they do their business, take the best leave the rest and then go out on your own especially if you've never done it full time before.

Ryan had his Varicose vein‘s removed and notice how Ryan quickly change the subject because Ryan does not want his faults revealed. Never reveal your faults and weaknesses.
Ryan, next time you want to fly out of JFK, don't drive there. Instead take the LIRR from Penn Station to Jamaica Station; you'll be there in 20-25 minutes and you won't have to fight traffic. If you're flying out of LGA though you're on your own :D

I am currently an agent for Douglas Elliman and have listened and absorbed all the advice you share . I am currently hunting down a NYC team that has a leader that shares the same go getter personality as me in hopes of gathering as much knowledge as I can at such a young age. I have been on a few interviews and it truly amazes me when I tell a broker I dont want any days off how they are so quick to tell me I NEED days off. I always refer to your hard work and prove I will not get where I want in my life with any days off. I never wanted an average life for myself, with this said your advice is extremely useful for me getting started. Thank you. P.S yes I will like and subscribe to your channel
