And introducing me to new games. This looks fun!
This game is indescribably joyous and alive at every turn.
Gears for breakfast, you deserve the world for such a masterpiece.
I haven't felt so much childlike joy ever before from such a game, and might never again.
It was a heckin cute kid with a big hat, and a dev team with a big heart, and a lot of polish. That's all it took to make the greatest platformer on PC, and the 16th most positive game on steam of all time.
The wait was more than worth it.
The biggest downside is that it ends ;)

24:48 We do it later so we can grab the Ice hat faster than if we used Ice Hat early, another strat that was slower than Lab Early. You need Ice hat for the Quick Kill

Yeah most of the blue rifts were in the alphas and betas. There weren't a whole lot of new ones after those initial ones.
Ahhh this must have been a Pretty old Speed run because the Nyakuza Metro wasnt Translated yet and we didnt took that long to translate it ! Loved the run ! Greetingsd from a Guy of the GErman Translation Team of the GAme !

This series is still the best thing IGN has to offer. I love watching speedrun reactions.
Literally the only thing in the past like 5 years that makes me tune in to the channel.
Every other dev, who have never seen a speedrun before: "oh no our wonderful game is being broken! how could you do this to us?!"
GFB, who literally made the game for speedrunning: "niiiiiiice."
There's even an achievement if you sequence break, encouraging people to try it out at least once.

I'm beginning to notice some trends in these videos.
Programmers: "Yeah, I actually knew about this skip, that skip, and the other skip. I just didn't have time to fix it, or left it in on purpose for speedrunners-- WHAT, I'VE NEVER SEEN THAT BEFORE!"
Animators: *At the beginning* "This was one of my favorite animations to work on-- Oh, they skipped it, but you know, look up the cutscene on UA-cam or something later." *At the end* "NOOO, COME ON, I WORKED SO HARD ON THAT!!"
Level Designers: "So, coming up here, I remember there's this little spot-- Yup, see, you can clip through right there. But this next level, it's pretty solid-- HE JUST FLEW OVER THE WHOLE THING!! HOW'D HE GET PAST THE DEATH PLANE!?"
Artists: "Okay, I have NO IDEA what's going on right now, but here's some trivia about how this boss was going to look-- UM, I DIDN'T DESIGN HIM TO LOOK LIKE A GLITCHED OUT MESS, THOUGH!?"

I absolutely loved this game, when it was getting developed I gave money to buy the finished game and brought access to the alpha and beta, it was so much fun running around mafia town seeing stuff slowly change over time.
so for those that are wondering why mafia boss is fought later in the speedrun. There is a very straightforward reason for this:
You need to get the ice hat in order to do this: 24:40 (and you need ice yarn for this which iirc doesn't exist in mafia town)

for the Mod Makers out there, i am not sure if this exists already but make a Timer Badge that forces a speedrun by putting the timer from Train Rush in every level

@@skycaboose on switch the loading screens take like 3 hours each so if they can patch that it would help out a lot

Both dlc worlds are my favorite worlds in the game! The cruise has so much to do and nyakusa is so pretty!

Someone should ask why they changed the mafia's face last thing before releasing the final version, like last thing, the xbox one trailer still uses the old one, and the title screen even uses the old mafia face

To be fair, most Germans going there would be able to speak and read English.

@@CrimsonCr0wn how is that? Most kids nowadays grow up with international media. A big portion of 30 year olds or younger speak English. I right now am gaming with a German 14 year old who speak fluently English. For me English isn't even my first language.

@@CrimsonCr0wn Well, for roughly the last ~20 years atleast, germans start learning english as a second language in school at the age of ~8, for ~7-10 years depending on their choices/how long they visit school. As far as teenagers/young adults are concerned, it's correct that almost all of them can at the very least write/read it. Speaking can be a bit more forced, but it is practiced quite a bit, so they'd be able to awkwardly communicate what they want to say at the minimum. The comment about the media isn't wrong either(especially true for current teenagers, and likely following generations), and it also helps that both are germanic languages. I'm not sure why it would be a problem to point out the odds of something, as long as they're right. Even if the statement is vague("most"). While i don't have any links on hand, i remember seeing ~80% of germans(below the age of 30) being able to speak english sufficiently to hold conversations, writing/reading being unproblematic. That number is quite a bit higher for young adults/teens, altho only around 50% if you are including older germans. Shouldn't be hard to find if you really care to look for it, if statement from ppl just living/being for a long time in germany don't suffice. Depending on how you interpret "most", i think what Mighty says is fair.
