Would you use your only opportunity in life to meet your most admired author to immediately annoy them with a question they famously hate? I'm pretty sure they just had a lovely time with him and maybe spoke about some interesting aspects of the books. Having that sort of personal and friendly meeting with George would only be possible under the premise of keeping the conversation private, regardless of its actual content. He has had many bad experiences in the past, with people exploiting and sensationalising anything he says.

My Jaqen head canon is that he came to King's Landing on some business, but Syrio Forel (a known Faceless Men detector, he kinda had to be one if he were a bodyguard of the Sealord of Braavos) discovered him and reported to Varys. Varys got him thrown to the black cells to figure things out later. Ned didn't know Jaqen was an S-tier emergency waiting for sharp questioning and opened the black cells for Yoren.
I liked the theory that Jaqen was hired by Littlefinger to get rid of Ned on the way to the wall. He could easily misplace the gold to pay for it, and killing Ned keeps him from communicating Littlefinger's betrayal to Cat. Like Arya learning that Jaqen was there specifically to kill her father would be heartbreaking.
I love watching the live chat during these and seeing all the people who have cranked their entitlement up to 11, asking completely irrelevant questions about some theory they have about Asshai or whatever.
I always wondered, what would have changed if Arya had outed herself to Tywin at Harrenhal. It likely could have ended the War of the Five Kings quickly. Trade Stark girls for Jaime, truce between Starks and Lannisters, Starks go to deal with the Ironborn, Lannisters deal with Stannis (who loses without Tywins army anyway). Boltons dont take Winterfell, Theon doesnt get tortured, no Red Wedding, Sansa wont be in Kings Landing so the Purple Wedding probably doesnt happen. Oberyn doesnt die, so the Martell plotline doesnt need to happen. Arya shouldnt have been so selfish look at all the good she could have done

@MistyWarden I think it's simply the rooster, but I could be mistaken. I love how consistent GRRM is in the foods he uses in Westerosi cuisine; there's never any corn, pumpkins, potatoes, or any "New World" foods from the Americas.
On the Others and the Faceless Men, I've always felt "all men must die; all men must serve" sounds exactly like the Others' MO (trying to wipe out humanity and turn them all into wights). Given the Faceless Men's opposition to the Valyrians and dragons, it'd be a nice echo if the Faceless Men's religion is actually a remnant from the Long Night showing perhaps not all the humans were on the same side (similar to the myth that the Bloodstone Emperor was against the Amethyst Empress).
The 3 body tencent show is so much better than the Netflix show. Much more close to the books and over 30 hours of it. So its a much larger and more interesting story. Its actually hard for me to think of 3 body and not think of Wang Miao. Plus when they get western actors to try to speak english horribly its hilarious.
Everything is darker in the books, whereas the show chose shock, tits and wine. And yes Twyin/Arya in the show was indeed better on screen than just how helpless she was and it was too hard for Roose to be there because all the warg stuff, Arya, Rob, Jon and Rickon was left out, along with Lady Stoneheart.
