@@grandoi I think Juji and Tom had a lot to do with it, when they started collaborations with big name strength athletes
Ben Mercer I think a few strongmen including hafthor, as well as Larry wheels as well as all the interesting stuff both juji and Tom do really got people into powerlifting and strongman sports.
Ben Mercer huge reason it blew up was because of them. Even when I got to watching strongmen, it was usually because of them. They are even the reason for some of them having UA-cam’s, heard Tom helped a lot of them.
UA-cam, and the fact that Hafthor was in GoT can't have been bad things for it.

I have compiled a list of Thor’s best deadlifts. I hope this clears up some confusion:
1. 474kg, elephant bar, no suit. 2019
2. 472kg, elephant bar, no suit. 2018
3. 460kg, stiff bar, suit. 2017
4. 458kg, elephant bar, no suit. 2018
5. 450kg, deadlift bar, suit. 2015
hg_10sm exactly he hasn’t pulled over 460 on the same bar Eddie used so he’s got some work to do if he wants it
Æðöþør Sölþå Eddie used a deadlift bar which has significant flex at 500kg. About an inch less flex than the elephant bar at that weight. In addition Eddie used a suit.
Thor’s 460kg was on a stiff bar, with very little flex. This was after 4 events in the WSM final. Since then, his deadlift has come up massively

Cool to see that he trains with his dad.
I'm trying to get my dad to that point right now. But his muscles are so week he has a difficult time standing, walking and just moving sometimes. Can't lift any weight yet.

That's some scary strength from Thor's dad who is about 80kg lighter than his son.2020 is going to be an interesting year for Thor in WSM.If he can remain focused & injury-free,then he can easily reclaim the title from Martins.

Two things. First, I’m watching all of the strongmen’s channels, you are clearly the man to beat. You look head and shoulders stronger than the rest. I’m worried that Martins isn’t going to put that nerve damage behind him. Second, I love your opening. My favorite part is the fist bump with Kelcie. Third, I know I said two before but I wish Eddie Hall would continue to compete as I’d love to see you kick his ass.

Finally. It feels good seeing a strongman getting stronger in the deadlift. I remember seeing one deadlift 1000 pounds in 2018 and they were only able to deadlift 775 pounds for 5 reps in 2020 😑 that is about a 970 max deadlift. And I know I can’t do that weight, but if a strongman is supposed to be one of the worlds strongest man why must their deadlift go down so much? So it makes me really happy to see Thor getting stronger in the deadlift. Not gonna lie Thor is my favorite strongman.
The Mountain just does 1000 lb deadlifts regularly now.

Hey Thor whats up big guy. Aka the mountain ha huge fan. Anyway i looked up the anvil grip on the rog site and they have the carabine directly on the loading pin without the strap. They show them using the strap to hand weight from an overhead bar for pullup grip exercises. Id post pics if i could

Bear Games it's to make the lift easier because the bar lifts before the weights
It's an elephant bar. The bar whips when lifted, it can throw you forward very easily if you don't control the lift.
Hafthor you can set the record, believe you can and you will.
