    As a big Flames fan, I have a few suggestions for just an updated Flames roster particularly. I think Weegar should be higher overall, I think he's a little underrated, and I think he's more well rounded than Andersson (as of now). I love Rasmus, but Weegar I think needs to be 89. And for a younger player, I think Zary should have high top 6 potential, he really showed a lot in his rookie season, and I think he's why Kadri turned it around last year. Kadri was looking so so, but he looked like a whole new player when Zary was on his line, and I also think Zary should be a playmaker and not a two way guy. Sharangovich should also probably be a sniper not a twf, and Coleman should be left wing/right wing. I dont think hes played center in 3+ years

      Yup agreed on those! I already went ahead and boosted Weegar and Kadri in my custom roster but it didn't increase their overalls due to their player types. Speaking of player types, I don't usually do much about them since line chemistry doesn't really rely on them anymore but you're right that some of those and the positions too just don't make sense 😂 Thanks for leaving your thoughts! :)

      Hi Zacharistalker, what about Martin Pospisil being 78 OVR? I am from Slovakia and obviously, I pay more attention to players from our country and I watched every WC game played by Slovakia back in May and he was the best player Slovakia had on the tournament. He had more positive impact than Fehervary, Slafkovsky and Nemec. I know he is just a sophomore, but he deserves every second on the ice he is getting right now.

      @StevenY.Sk.19 Pospisil should be slightly high overall too. 80 or maybe 81. His season last year was very solid, especially since nearly everyone had written him off, expecting just a career ahl guy. He surprised a lot of people last year and has taken another step this year, he's kind of woken up Huberdeau this season which is great

    6:23 it’s because once players hit 26 years old their “potential” doesn’t actually matter. When you start a franchise mode they will immediately be exact potential and it will be reflected by their overall, not by what their medium potential says. For example when you start a franchise Artturi Lehkonen will start as an exact top 6 even though his “potential” is still listed as medium top 9 for some reason. Lazy by EA not to update it, but I’m just saying it doesn’t actually make a difference.

    • @joellitt-jukes9715
      @joellitt-jukes9715 5 днів тому

      It affects regression.
      A MED Elite 90 overall player will regress slower than a LOW Top-6 who is 90 overall.
      Potential definitely matters after 26 overall if you don’t want players regressing too quickly or too slowly

      @@joellitt-jukes9715 their potential does, but not the “medium ___” potential that EA lists in these rosters, that’s what I’m saying. When they hit 27 years old their potential adjusts itself to exact potential and it matches whatever their overall is at the time (ignoring stat growth). But the point is when you start a franchise every player that is 27 years old gets their exact potential that matches their overall, NOT their medium potential that is listed. So an 83 rated 30 year old forward will always begin franchise as an “exact top 6” even if their potential is set as “low AHL top 6.” Any 27 year old 87+ overall will always begin franchise as an exact elite. That’s why the potential is not updated for older players.

      @@tateanderson213 That is literally not true. I’ll use Bryan Rust as an example. With the default rosters. He is listed as “Medium Top-9” at 84 overall. Now you are correct in saying the medium kicks over to “exact” however the top-9 thing stays. So he will regress quicker, than if you kick him up to Top-6. I literally just went and tested it. He’s labelled as “exact top-9” and “exact top-6” depending on how I edit his potential. Regardless if I change his overall or not. I even tested it with a lower overall player. I took Kevin Hayes (who’s base game overall in 84) and I changed him to franchise. He was labelled as an 84 overall “exact franchise”. I then tested it again, where I Changed him to AHL Other FWD. He was listed in the game as an 84 overall “exact AHL other forward”.

    • @Data782
      @Data782  3 дні тому

      Right absolutely! I say "low/medium/high" out of habit but I know that players who are 27+ will just have "exact" in FM. As Jukesy mentioned in his reply, it seems as though this does indeed carry over to FM regardless of the role that the player's overall would suggest, thus making upsetting me with EA for both laziness-related reasons, and early regression-related reasons 😂

    Another reason why franchise players should wait for this game to go on sale, either during Black Friday or around Christmas, is the outdated rating system. It seems like the team responsible for ratings just looks at last year’s data and tweaks a few players. They need a new approach, like using a five-year performance window to determine player ratings. Also, rookies, especially college players signed mid-season, shouldn't be rated 79+ right away-it’s unrealistic. And not every European player should automatically be labeled a two-way forward!

    these ratings are god awful... for the leafs liligren and dewar are overrated af and bobby mcmann is underrated. liligren should be 81 overall, dewar 78 overall, and mcmann 83 overall

    • @Data782
      @Data782  5 днів тому

      Haha I hear you, Liljegren needs a drop and McMann needs a boost for sure. In my own roster I didn't want to do toooo too much before the season got underway but, as the season plays out, those upgrades and downgrades will become much more clear
