I had to store furniture several years ago. I learned that wrapping it in those large rolls of thick plastic from Walmart or hardware store saves your furniture from dirt and bugs!!! I wrapped up mattresses and box springs, taped them with duct tape and t be ey stayed wrapped for 2 years. I put softener sheets inside before taping up and ty Jose mattresses were like the day we wrapped them up. So wrap your mattresses, couch, chairs, wood furniture well and you'll be very happy when they go back into your new house!!!
I really enjoy watching you folks. I am 71 year old man who was raised in the city and spent the summers on the farms of my aunt in Kansas and my cousins in Oklahoma and I love the farm life. So I get to relive that by watching ya'all. You are such a great family! God bless you!
Brooke... You need to de-stress every day by sitting in a quiet place and pet one of the cats for 20 minutes!!! The purring will be very calming!! You are going to worry yourself to death! Things will happen in their own time! The Lord has been with you all along up to now and He won't leave you in the home stretch!! All your plans did not come together on their own, you guys had Divine Help for sure!!! So don't worry, ask the Lord to help you and do what you can every day! It will be OK! God Bless you both!
I’ve always had trouble holding on to my things. I put a small hanging basket by every door, in my car, on my work desk. I found that I became programmed to put things in the baskets and also to look for things there. It worked for me. (You could also attach a pouch). Thanks for your great videos, and for sharing your life with us. My Grandma would say “ You’re good eggs”.
You were talking about laying the tools down in the grass and not being able to find them, well Home Depot and Lowe’s both sell an epoxy dip you can dip your tool handles in to protect and make more visible. You can also use fluorescent/bright rustoleum paint colors which will make them more visible in the grass. This is the voice of experience, particularly with a teenage son who has ADHD. Just a thought. 😁
Was going to mention this. Also, I work on having routines for myself (I call them "algorithms for living"), some of which are about being able to track belongings. I still lose things, but if I don't make an effort to track where I put things (and put them back where they belong), I spend a LOT of lost time looking for things.
I got flourescent orange duct tape and wrapped part of the handles on my tools. A friend of mine comes up to help me on my place. He prefers his own tools to mine - because he knows where his are in his truck. But he is always leaving something at my place that he will inevitably need at work the next day. And he lives 160 miles away. So i bought him a safety orange 5-gallon bucket that i have him put his tools in when he takes them from his truck. Even if it's only his screwdriver - It goes in the bucket to be carried to whatever he's working on. Then it goes *_back_* into the bucket. When he gets ready to head back to his home, i make sure the bucket is empty. He kinda poo-poohed my Bucket Idea at first. But the night he was on call, and had to meet me at half-way at one in the morning, he changed his tune!
A ferriers magnet works great to find tools, nails and etc. Attach bailing twine or a rope, drag it along the ground and walaa! Tools and dropped nails found. A 5 gallon bucket with a bucket tool apron works great for storing and moving tools, fastners and etc while doing fencing or building jobs. Keeps everything in 1 place and is portable to move. When I have moved in the past when in the Navy I found it very helpful to make lists of everything that needed to be done. Cross off list when completed, I knew exactly what was left to do and the time I had left to do it. Had a lot less stress with the visual to do list. Talk to the trucker moving the tiny house and see if he could move the trailer for silkies. May be able to remove axles, attach skids on both sides and he could winch it onto a flat bed trailer or truck bed.
Another trick i picked up a couple of years ago: I got those little post-its - they're like 1" x 2". I use a _little_ color coding with it. But i put one thing on a post-it, then i can arrange them on my note pad or white-board, move things up or down if their priority changes, or change the column - like if it goes from a "purchase" to "see if James can fix it". Also as they get done, i take them off and stack them - so i can look at my wee stack and say: "Look at the stack o' stuff i got done!"
Y’all need to call in the Cog Hill troops!!! You have tons of friends & people that I’m sure would love to help!! It would bring people so much joy if you allowed them to help you!!
I finally did this. Anytime I walked pass a tool I put it in the bucket. Ashamed to say at the end of the evening, I was the owner of three hammers, 4 tape measures, 2 sets of screwdrivers, and three saws and 50 pencils. And I could never find anything before, hence the new purchases. Now I need something for tapes....have 4 rolls if duct tape and numerous blue tapes.
The Pepsi display story was great! Lol. I wish you two could hire some movers to get the furniture out and into the Pod. I believe you will get done on time! I hope you don't shy away from asking for help from friends and family. Relieve some stress.
I had always been self sufficient, until I got older and found I sometimes have to have help. Maybe you can consider letting people help you build fences, move furniture or do other things. It might save you from hurting yourselves and then you will have to have help. What flea market do you go to. I love flea markets.
You got this guys.......because you have each other! You work so well together and it is very obvious there is a lot of love and support for each other through all your ups and downs.
If you’re not using it move it survive on basics it stops the last minute panic. Great video thanks folks always very entertaining. Thanks. Chris from England.
Jason if you have a small tarp (8X8 or larger) use it to place tools and just drag or roll tools up in tarp and drag to relocate. Also great if sudden rain storms hits. Jason this will work, if you remember to place tools on tarp, not the ground.🪓🔧🔨⛏⛓🚿🩹
Jason, I'm like you. I need my glasses to see far out, but they're just a bother for reading and close work. After my son ended up sitting on several pairs, I started putting them on top of my head. If I forget about them, they remind me where they are when I bend over to pick something up and they fall off my head.
I put my glasses on top of my head also and if you are wearing a cap they don’t fall off as easy. Perhaps a tool belt would help you keep track of smaller tools. I am not a craftsman though so what do I know. Many people have the problem of losing things so you are not alone. We all have our flaws, makes us human, so don’t feel bad.
Y’all crack me up. I thought about sending Jason one of those things to hang around his neck for his glasses and then I see one around his neck. Brooke don’t feel alone, I am the official fetcher of all things at my house too. I see things I shouldn’t notice and then glad I did because sure enough hubby is looking for it later. 😂😂
Those furniture moving “pads/disks”, felt on one side for hard surface moving and plastic on the other for carpet. I am 68, alone and just moved and have been using those things to push furniture all over the house!
I’ve used all sorts of help, tarps, quilts, dollies, sliders, it all still takes its toll. I was a chronic ‘rearranger’ in my younger days!! Just recently moved a 7’ armoire by myself, so, do as I say not as I do sort of thing. 🤪
You two are so fun to listen to. I’m recovering from COVID and you’ve made my recovery easier. You’re a beautiful family with the sweetest little girl. God bless you.
Ahhhh, Brooke. We have a superpower! We see the future 🤣 In my experience this superpower cannot be taught and it makes for extreme anxiety when we see others who have to live without it!!! You are doing awesome considering all that you 3 are going through with the move. ❤
I knew a landscaper once who had all his hand tools painted hot pink. They didn't get lost in the grass and his workers never 'accidentally' took any of them home. Pink rocks it.
The podcast is great for you to hash things out, you are getting a lot done even though your sitting there doing the podcast. Brooke, don't sell yourself short, you are very talented and so good at organizing and finding deals for everything you need for the animals, the farm and for the move. I really admire you for being such a go getter! Jason, I am proud of you for getting out there and forcing yourself to do things that you are anxious about. You both make a great team!
Thank you for bringing many smiles to my face this evening. Brooke and Jason compliment each other perfectly. 29 days until move. No sweat, you two will make everything fall into place.
Jason and Brooke! You are amazing! You are juggling so much! Just breathe! Do not wear yourselves out. Everything will happen in good time! Everything will be outstanding-just breathe. You are going to be okay. 🙏 Just breathe. What an exciting journey to watch! 😊❤️🇨🇦👍
Brooke you need to get some kind of sensor to put on Jason's glasses. Like one of those " find my keys" thing that you clap your hands & the sensor beeps on your keys so you can find them. I'm pretty creative & artistic & I don't misplace my stuff. I need it to be organized & in its place. I think its bcuz Jason & MaryCarl know you will try to keep track of their things for them. I'm glad you have a final decision on your house plans & site orientation. You can do this. And don't turn down friends helping, many hands make light work. No sense killing yourselves.
Everything will work out Brooke!❤ Take a deep breath my friend! There is nothing wrong in asking a friend or two for help to move some big furniture that Jason can't move himself! That's what friends are for. But I believe you will accomplish your move in time! Once things start heading out the door, you'll be surprised at how fast it is going! Keeping all of you in my prayers and the new family traveling so far to move in also! This is a great new chapter for everyone! Just take a deep breath now & then Brooke! It'll all work out!👍🏻😉 💞
Prayers over you guys with all that you have ahead of you with your moving. Be sure and begin your day with prayer before Him and ask for strength, direction and safety....He will give you all what you need in what you are trying to do for your family....draw from His peace as you settle your focus on Him as you do each thing that has to be done.🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏❤️ Through Him you will do this👍👍👍❤️
The most dreaded words known to Womankind "i've been thinkin" uttered by a member of Mankind. God bless you Brooke, I believe you will be fine on time. Somehow things always get done just in time. It may not be perfect and it may be chaotic at times but it will get done. Just do what comes next. I will be praying for you to have nights of deep sleep for the next 20 some days. God bless.
I love animals and now have a special love for birds…simply thanks to your sweet daughter …thank you MaryCarl for enlightening me on different species of birds! Gonna follow her on Instagram now! God bless y’all … i certainly do enjoy all of your videos so much!
Oh Brooke, you are such a treasure! Did I just hear you say that you won't have dogs over there that need air conditioning? I think I heard a chuckle from up in heaven. Good thing that God has a sense of humor. What we humans think of is sometime so comical. I just love you and your family. You're on my prayer list.
Hey Brooke! I truly hope that everything goes smoothly for you in the next two months!! I just wanted to let you know that the PODS don’t completely seal when closed up. We rented one to store our furniture in during some interior house repairs. When we opened it up everything was surprisingly dusty. (No sign of water leaks). If we need one in the future I will cover lampshades, mattresses and upholstery. Hope this might save you some work. Hi to Jason and Mary Carl! 🙂
Jason, have you tried the magnetic eyeglass holder sold on Amazon??? It fits perfectly on your shirt and your glasses don't get in the way when you bend over to work. But, YOU HAVE TO REMEMBER TO PUT YOUR GLASSES IN IT WHEN YOU TAKE THEM OFF..LOL I love your podcasts. Thanks for sharing your time with us.
My father did that as well and he ended up bending over and dropping the glasses out of his pocket on his shirt and breaking them it was so upsetting to him every time.
A toolbelt for each of you would help. They make them with suspenders to take the load off your waist, plus it's instant back support. Or I always have an apron on with three pockets. Great for keeping a pen, glasses and tape measure in, as well as screws and a place to hold a hammer head as well. Not to mention that phone!
Jason, I can relate about losing your glasses and forgetting things. I tell people I have to much on my mind and not enough mind to handle it all. I am a creative person so that might explain my problem.
I have moved many times and always seem to get overwhelmed by all that has to get done. My best solution is to write out everything that has to get done. Adding the time needed for each job. Take care of highest priority first. Perhaps getting the house cleaned out first so it's done. Then move to the animals that are closest to the house. Whatever would affect the new owners, getting it out of the way first would relieve slot of stress.
Love the Podcast! Love listening to your plans and accomplishments! You guys have got this. Moving is always stressful but I know you have this covered.
I’m so excited for this episode thank you for sharing your life with us all we love y’all . I think I’m gonna cry on the last video at the original cog
I felt that way to Carrie, until Momma decided on a Tiny House - I can't wait to see it. My hip replacement will be over by the time they move. - they have kept me totally entertained while I've been sedentary. .
Absolutely love your podcasts. Thank you so much for sharing. God Bless you and your family. Prayers for you to be able to get everything you need to done. I'm so happy for you. If I lived in the same town or within 40 or so miles of you guys I'd volunteer to help you by doing what ever I could to help. Don't forget your door you need to order, your pad extension, trees, burm, and burm by the trailer to be flattened out. Good Luck, Good Days and week.🌞🌻🙏💗🥧
Your tractor idea is great. Hubby and I moved five years ago by ourselves. We used our tractors to help us. One to load and one to unload. We are retired and to old to man handle heavy stuff. Be careful. Love both your channels.
Just wanted you to know my son was also neutropenic when he was 2 until he was a teen. Once his numbers were good he had an episode where he fainted, his EKG showed a resting heart rate was low. A couple years later he had pericarditis which was also from an antibody. He had pericarditis one more time when he finished college and was away doing a job orientation. It’s been 14 years and he has not had any more problems. So glad to hear MC’s levels are good. I just wanted you to know age does help as the children grow. God bless.🙏🏼🕊💙
I AM NOW FOLLOWING MARYCARL AND LOOK FORWARD TO HER POSTING, SHE IS ONE TALENTED YOUNG LADY. YOU ARE TALENTED IN MANY WAYS ALSO BROOKE AND THEY DON'T HAVE TO BE THE SAME AREAS AS ANYONE ELSE. LOOK WHAT YOU CAN DO WITH LITTLE O AND BIG O YOU ARE IN INSPIRATION TO MANY MEN/WOMEN WHO DON'T KNOW HOW TO WORK ON. I AM PRAYING FOR GOD TO GIVE YOU HIS PEACE.
Brook, Whenever someone asked my mother-in-law for something she always said, "not in my bra pocket." When the kids were still in school and asked to go somewhere later in the week, she told them, " I might be dead by then and your stepmother might not let you." DOT laws foe semi trailer tires, treads have to be at least 2/32" If you know a semi driver he might have tires free. EPA charges to get rid of them
Brooke, Im the same way. I wake up at all hours of the night & the brain start churning. I often google stuff during those times 😂 Jason, my husband lays his tools in the grass too but I get the blame for misplacing them. I don't use the tools 😂
Think of it this way. What needs to be moved to the 40 or finished on the 40 or moved into the pods? Like moving the animals to the 40. That can be done in one, maybe two days. Packing stuff in the pods can be done in one, maybe two days. Putting together the enclosure for the peacocks you said should take about a day. Figure out how many things need to be done, then figure out how many days you think you'll need to do each thing. That will give you an idea of how much time you'll really need. That way you'll have more of a game plan and you'll be able to move forward with confidence.
Also have Mary Carl help pack up the shop that's staying. And she can take down the signs, just show her how to do it. Also the signs and bobbins on the other shops could be taken down and packed by her. She should be helping towards the move and not going with Piper and on instagram. Maybe helping grandmother pack as well. You guys are going to burnout!
You guys may need to hire a moving company to help pack and load your pod. And friends and family to help get some of that done. You guys have a lot on your plate with just your animals and being prepared for them. And moving your buildings and outside equipment and stuff.
Brooke I have a solution for you!!! You can cool off on the tractor by using my technique that I used while working in the hot unbearable factory paper mill. Get a bucket of ice and put your shirt in that ice water bucket. Put a towel in there and drape it over your legs. IT WORKS!!!!! You might want to use a 5 gal bucket. I used a coffee can of ice and it got me through an 8-12 hour shift.
Things are moving along! Have you considered just hiring a couple of people to help you with the heavy stuff. Labor Finders or a moving company might be worth not having medical problems in your older years! You are younger now and don’t realize but your older self will thank you - take it from one who always had to do it herself and now wishes she’d been kinder to her body!
Then you can use those huge tires to make a couple of raised beds to grow something in!! Put them on either side of your entrance to the property with flowers in them!! They would look beautiful! MC's sunflowers would look beautiful in them!! Good Luck!
Brooke get spray paint !!!! Neon bright!!!! Glow paint if possible! Put all tools on line and spray. All the builders here have their own color in the tools to distinguish their own tools. Step ahead! Paint Jason's tools in neon red with a glowkng color in the dark, so it would be found both night and day. ps my mom always said when she was asked about dad’s tools :my utensilies are in the kitchen. there is no visible hammer/drill there
Ummm might not work…Hubby and I both loose them on our shirts, on our heads, and even wearing them! Been going on for decades! I own close to 10 pair. When all disappear, we find groups under the sofa, or in a nightstand we have looked in a hundred times! It’s a Leprechaun named camouflage!
I would LOVE longer podcast, y'all are inspiring! I learn a lot from your experiences and watching y'all. I miss the chicken master info on chickens. But I do understand MC is only 11 years old and has her own agenda.
Brooke and Jason, when my husband and I moved, I said it was a good thing we didn’t have to do it often, because our 47 year marriage may not have survived it. Just chill when you can, and try not to KILL each other. Much love and calmness being sent your way. You’ll make it through this.
Brooke don’t you know that every mother who has a son like Jason prays that they find a girl just like you!!
A creative mind + an analytical mind = perfect couple

It'll all work out!👍🏻😉
💞
I just love your video’s so much. When I see one first thing in the morning….it makes my day. Wish I was closed I would volunteer to help. !
Prayers over you guys with all that you have ahead of you with your moving. Be sure and begin your day with prayer before Him and ask for strength, direction and safety....He will give you all what you need in what you are trying to do for your family....draw from His peace as you settle your focus on Him as you do each thing that has to be done.🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏❤️ Through Him you will do this👍👍👍❤️
Y'all turn my frown upside down. Thank you. You had me laughing within the first two and a half minutes. God bless y'all.
praying for your strength and well being - may things roll swiftly and smoothly 💜
Good luck Brook! I know the stress of packing and planning. *deep breath* It will all turn out just fine.
I’m so glad you told us about MC’S Instagram page. I had to follow her, and she’s quite an excellent photographer! 📸 📷 🎥
Jason ... The more I watch your Videos. I'm getting more Inspired to be Patient with My Wife. Thanks for your Wisdom Brother... You the Man!!!
I just watched your dance recitals yesterday. It was so much fun watching you hoof! You need to take some time and dance more!!❤️❤️❤️
TOOL BELT would definitely help for the tools! My husband always had a shirt with a deep pocket that he would put his glasses into.
My father did that as well and he ended up bending over and dropping the glasses out of his pocket on his shirt and breaking them it was so upsetting to him every time.
I forgot to say that it had a Velcro flap to close it!
Just love listening to you two talk.
I've thought about moving a couple times... looked at all my stuff...the garage, yard ..
Decided it was best just to stay put
MC’s pictures on Instagram are adorable!!!
Love the Podcast! Love listening to your plans and accomplishments! You guys have got this. Moving is always stressful but I know you have this covered.
Getting these small jobs done while you have the machinery there makes sense. In the long term it should save you hassle, worry, and hopefully time.
I’m so excited for this episode thank you for sharing your life with us all we love y’all . I think I’m gonna cry on the last video at the original cog
I felt that way to Carrie, until Momma decided on a Tiny House - I can't wait to see it. My hip replacement will be over by the time they move. - they have kept me totally entertained while I've been sedentary.
.
@@janiefox3458 I pray you get well soon dear god bless you sweetheart
I am following MC she is amazing and never boring :) clever lil lady with a huge heart x
I just followed MC what an amazing photographer she is!
The plan is coming together! So happy for your family!
Wow! What a process! God bless you both with endurance, patience, and productive daily plans. This is so exciting!!
EPA charges to get rid of them
Hit up truck stops or junk yards.
Thank you for letting us go on this journey with you. I am excited for you and looking forward to seeing you develop your new property.
Dip each of your tools (handles) in florescent glow in the dark paint. Include the bows of your your glasses!
You two are so comical and I love that red nose Rudolph would be so jealous LOL
You all are amazing!!!! Love your plans for the new house!!!! It’s going to be amazing excited to see all the work they have did on the site work.
You guys may need to hire a moving company to help pack and load your pod. And friends and family to help get some of that done. You guys have a lot on your plate with just your animals and being prepared for them. And moving your buildings and outside equipment and stuff.
if you want to make it longer, that would be ok with me. I enjoy watching and listening to you.
Just remember to breathe. There will be many more ups and downs. Just breathe and pray. It will all work out. Love to you all.
I enjoy listening to all the plans!
When I got my 12x12buildings from my friend he hauled them on a hardee trailer. Just jacked them up and backed under them.
I help people pack/unpack for a living so I would encourage you to look for a packing/moving support service in your area to speed things up.
I love you guys! You guys are the best and I can't get enough of either of you guys and the videos or podcasts!
Xoxox
Things are moving along! Have you considered just hiring a couple of people to help you with the heavy stuff. Labor Finders or a moving company might be worth not having medical problems in your older years! You are younger now and don’t realize but your older self will thank you - take it from one who always had to do it herself and now wishes she’d been kinder to her body!
Yes..please allow yourself to get some help...
Then you can use those huge tires to make a couple of raised beds to grow something in!! Put them on either side of your entrance to the property with flowers in them!! They would look beautiful! MC's sunflowers would look beautiful in them!! Good Luck!
Love how you take care of mom. There are so many who don’t have someone. I’m very lucky to have my family
Brooke get spray paint !!!!
Neon bright!!!!
Glow paint if possible!
Put all tools on line and spray.
All the builders here have their own color in the tools to distinguish their own tools.
Step ahead!
Paint Jason's tools in neon red with a glowkng color in the dark, so it would be found both night and day.
ps my mom always said when she was asked about dad’s tools :my utensilies are in the kitchen. there is no visible hammer/drill there
I spray paint all my gardening tools with red paint so I can find them in the dirt and grass. It really helps!!
Jason, DONT put them down any where!! Hook the ear of the glasses in your t-shirt collar, no more lost glassed !! LOL 😂
Yall are so funny! It's really cool that you both know what the is thinking! I love that! I'm so excited to see it all come to fruition!
I would LOVE longer podcast, y'all are inspiring! I learn a lot from your experiences and watching y'all. I miss the chicken master info on chickens. But I do understand MC is only 11 years old and has her own agenda.
You need to teach Arlo to find your glasses you can get in to talk that you'll never lose them again
Hi Brooke and Jason!! I do the same thing put some thing down then I can't find it. It happens to the best of us. 🇨🇦
Counting the loads, that’s funny, I was an inventory auditor for nearly twenty years and I still count things, everywhere.
It’s always a pleasure watching you and moving is hard work but you got this ❤️🇬🇧 x
Brooke and Jason, when my husband and I moved, I said it was a good thing we didn’t have to do it often, because our 47 year marriage may not have survived it. Just chill when you can, and try not to KILL each other. Much love and calmness being sent your way. You’ll make it through this.
I love listening to y'all. You always make me smile!
Good job winning all those Pepsi products at age 9! That’s amazing skills counting! Seriously! 💗⭐️
Y'all are just the best. God bless and keep y'all sane thru this move. Don't forget to breathe!
Blessings, julie
