    Blitz spirit mate. This is what i need to make happen on my li3 , those baby mounts won’t cut it.

      They vibrate like hell on a tuned motor!

    Looks like a good tool but I just used sockets and a nut and bolt, I doubt I’ll be doing it again so no point me buying the tool. 🙂👍

      They are worth investing in if you do it often or if you are a group or club and you all chip in on the one tool. It also avoids pulling them in at an angle, which can happen using ghetto tools. I've seen a few oval holes in cases which cause trouble. Thanks for watching.

    Thanks Rob, yet another entertaining and informative vid! Have you ever used the Casa Silent Block Removal Tool?;)

      Thanks. No. I've only used a shitty Indian thing and the bgm tool.

    Hi can you change the lambretta silent block engine mounts with engine still in the scooter .

    • @kickbackgarage
      @kickbackgarage  2 дні тому

      No. You have to at least drop it down. Fuel in the tank is probably not a good idea either because the engine needs to be heated

    What about engine levelling prior to fitting, do you imagine in location of scooter or bench level. Thanx

      Yes, you have to take the angle it sits in the frame in account but if its slightly out it won't really make a massive difference.

    Now you've reinstalled a 30 yr old silentblock...How to tell when to invest in new silentblocks if restoring an unknown scooter and engine?

    Hi Rob, is there a reason why the silent block has the 3 holes in it?

    • @kickbackgarage
      @kickbackgarage  3 роки тому

      Anti vibration. There are solid types but they shake out your fillings.

      @@kickbackgarage nope thing seems solid whats confusing is it didnt have the parts you refitted as per say a s3 it is just a nut either side but on rubber mounting.

    • @davidroberts2307

      @@kickbackgarage silent blocks the nuts came straight off with long bar but had been on a long time definitely did s2 have a silent block or am I way off

      @@davidroberts2307 The larger engine mounts only originaly came on the 175, or larger scooters, along with some specials and SX`s. If yours are the original types it is well worth the upgrade if the engine is tuned. The engine rod has probably corroded to the 2 frame cones that hold it in place and clamp down on the bolt when the nuts are tightened. If you hit the engine bar alternately, left then right it should be able to free it up.
