I remember years ok on B G I replaced a boiler the old boiler had a pump over run I I made a note of the wires from the old boiler I was all finished when the electrician arrived so I left him to it next minute I heard bang he blow the board up then he locked his keys in the van I felt sorry for him had a right bad day
Had a similar issue before on a cylinder return in 15mm barrier pipe. Top tip if you run a magnet on the outside of the pipe you should find the blockage as the magnet will stick to to pipe

Years back we had that non-barrier pipe feeding radiators in an extension done by previous owners. Turned the rads into sludge buckets by letting oxygen into the system.
As a very old retired gas fitter micro bore bits of plastic usually indicated a expansion tank pumping or sucking in air till it ground to a stop, then boiler replaced/system pressured no chemical clean

I had the same van problem,van would not start, the AA came out and said ‘did I enjoy my two weeks off’ to which I replied no mate I work right through, he soon changed his tune lol. I think that’s not a bad cost for a van battery. Great video 👍 well done hitting 5K
well done im teaching my apprentice son even if you know a pipe run is clear dosnt mean its not restricted ive purchased a thermal imaging cam 2 years ago which has helped me identify poss restrictions as a 60 year old plumber always find new ways to make my job easier keep up the good work
Your a genius,well done,it didn’t catch you out ,you started with the obvious and worked back,that rad needed repiping as the quality of previous work was shocking
I'm really glad I watched this.... Ive got a similar problem with a loft rad not getting good flow, not getting hot. New valves, balanced system, flushed air out of both flow & return via hose on both sides of rad in question. Last thing I'm trying tomorrow is taking rad off and jet wash out, reconnect and vent. Wash my hands then as they wont lift floors.....

I'm a sparks but I also had a flat battery on first day back in middle of nowhere in mid-Wales. Luckily some neighbours (2 miles away!) had jump leads. Well done for persevering on that job, many people would have walked away long before you found the problem.
It's not just the pipework, which is the fun bit, it's all the access and making good again afterwards. And what a mess under the floors 😱. Great job getting to the bottom of it!
Perfect demonstration of a topical job that can run you round a bit but yo fixed the problem and had ya van fixed while earning you could have been sat waiting and waiting. Love your videos you show it all top man and the fire extinguisher is a must you’ve made me get one and have it at hand 👍
Have been in these situations so many times. This actually done me a favour as i have two separate properties both with one rad that doesn’t work. Both were builder installs not done by a plumber! Have a feeling its blocked ball o fix valves fitted somewhere on the pipes! Well done for sorting it!👊🏼👍🏼
Remember going to that job with you to try sort out flow. You said then it was a blockage near to boiler and proved right. Follow your instinct great video Luke well done
This is really weird, this week I cut out and replaced a big portion of blocked 10mm plastic pipe to 3 rads, luckly they had carpets, Great video as always mate.
Cracking job in the end. With the aggro of the van in the middle as well. Needs must but that plastic pipe always ends up being the problem. Every leak i go to is always a push fit that`s not on right.

As you say we are problem solvers and you know you've inherited something that can go sideways fast when the customer says 'its never worked properly!' 😂 Microbore is horrendous for flow restrictions and ive had it on manifolds with 10, 8 and even 6mm to a hallway radiator that was blocked solid!

Well done with that, what a mare. I’ve had a few apartments with that grey stuff buried in studs and had to completely re-pipe. Wouldn’t do it again though.
DIY Micro bore would have been my first thought too! And doesn’t do the van any good not being started in 2 weeks but good to finally get a break for once! Cheers Rich

Well done for your perseverance which paid off in good time. I hope your customer appreciated the 'lengths' you went to.. I had a similar problem with my car, stood for two weeks during that cold snap in November, down to 8.5v. Now using my bike's 'oximiser' to keep topped up. Maybe worth considering for next winter. Apparently it's recommended for AGM batteries during cold and laid up periods. Keep the vids coming, they're best in class.

I've had the exact same problem. Same size rad piped in 15mm just will not heat up. Can only be a blockage. Problem is all the pipework is under tiled floors. So it's either floors up or ceilings down. Hoping a power flush will clear the block. Doing my nut in

Good work, got there in the end! Those Ford batteries can be rubbish, had no end of trouble with mine from new, Ford wouldn't replace it under warranty so bought a new one, had no issues in 8 years since.
We did get there in end, that’s why plumbing is fun, never know where a job is going to take you 😂 5 year guarantee on that battery so hopefully no more problems 👍

That grey plastic pipe with no O2 barrier is a nightmare. There’s a couple of new’ish build estates around where I live that have all been fitted with the stuff and the systems are literally caving in. Radiators pin holed and the system water looking like chocolate milkshake. Well done on your perseverance, I’d have thrown my teddy out the pram an hour or two into that job 😂

I've had a seized Brake Caliper & a dodgy coolant temperature sensor this week ! Unneeded frustration . Heres to better luck for the rest of year.

I've even come across 6mm pipe! It needs a very hig pressure pump to make it work thats for sure.

I couldn’t understand the pipe either, they really didn’t want anything on show and went to a bit of difficulty running that 10mm the way they did!

I had a similar problem on 8mm to a kitchen radiator. Faulty pump.
Wow! That’s pretty bad for a first day! Still, you did a really neat job on that rad and got everything going, so a great result.

15mm plastic pipe from Hughes is never a problem . If the water is like chocolate its the radiators that need attention not the pipework
