People have to understand that the grey shirt guy isn't there to crush him. He's just there to help the amateur practice. We have pros at my gym that spar with us. They could easily unload, but it wouldn't prove anything, since they're PRO! They give us tricks and tips, but trust me they don't even break a sweat.
I understand what ur talking about, but many amateur fighters with bigger achievements are way better than those "pro" fighters who just do the whole stuff coz money
Juhasz Martin . totally mate. 10 percent are great, 90 percent are punching bags that the amateurs that fight commonwealth, worlds and Olympics would destroy
Both bad fighters if you want to even call them that other than children. Both too scared to engage and end the fight quik. Just coward and weak fighters as usual :). Na nothing to do with pro. Fighting is mostly speed, brute force and fearlessness. This is why no matter the amount of training you have if the other person is fast, strong and not afraid to get in your face and break your body and bones then good luck. Some of us will literally eat you :). I claim world's best boxer and would challenge anyone if they want but won't end well for you. My punches may kill you so if it's a risk for some good money I would fight any pro :).

That's how you train. You let each other work. You practice moving around their shots. Instead of having a one upmanship battle. You can't get better when the other dude just smothers you with barrages or if you don't let your sparring partner work
I don't think the "pro" had a choice he was getting atted up and the grey shirt definitely was exhaustingly tired from all of the blows he was being delivered to easily.
Dude in grey is the pro. Notice the difference in technique, combinations (watch the jab as well) and how comfortable the guy in the grey shirt is at any distance, ESPECIALLY how calmly he maneuvers out of the way of punches at very close range. He slowly applies pressure and uses different angles and combinations. I give the man in the grey shirt kudos, he let the other guy get punches and combos in while showing him what to look out for and the counters that he can be prone to. Great video.
There are some Muay Thai fighters who successfully implemented head movement and boxing footwork in Pro Muay Thai. Samart Payakaroon and Somrak Khamsing. Those are the most famous ones.
You can clearly see the grey guy isn't going all in, he's a pro, calm and fast easy strikes while the red one is little more tense, wastes to much energy on thimgs, nice fight :) great experience for amateur fighter.
I got smashed by one of the semi-pro guys today at training, to the point where he looked effortless. I’ve been boxing 7 months - I wondered if there was actually a point to it?
man the power difference is huge between the amateur and the pro and the resistance to take punches and block slip is a lot better in the pro , but this amateur fighter is very good fast handed nice sparring session
that's cool. I was told boxing is a dying sport. I got into it recently. it's not easy, even when you're already in good shape. you either make it or you dont. I watched this video as a newbie getting into the sport.
Boxing is the most Spartan form of training of all sports. It is the most difficult of all sports. Those wanting to break into boxing should invest in a good jump rope
Great session from both fighters... this is exactly how you get better.. Homeboy in the gray started slow but when he lit up that upper-body movement and got the jab going he made it clear who was runnin business.. this is what i like to see guys keep it up both of you
This is proper sparring. Working on various techniques rather than in there to try and knock a guy out. It's surprising how many so-called 'boxer's' don't know how to pull back when sparring and start swinging to air condition the place.
Never underestimate the power of an Amateur boxer. I saw a really good Body builder vs Amateur video where the first time the boxer threw a punch, the body builder was knocked out
I like the idea of amateurs sparring pros because eventually that's what you move up to when you finished the amateurs anyway. good sparring. I was looking on youtube for good spars and i found some good ones like this and the star gym uk boxers out on youtube they are who are good for their ages (12-16) in my opinion with no head guards and stuff. really entertaining. Great video man :) i shall now look for more entertaining spars ;) wish me luck
good session. Glad to see the pro not follow up after he shook him up a little bit. Some guys do and it really doesn't help anybody. Good work from the amateur- nice learning experience.
the pro fighter is a good guy he took it easy with you,as in he held alot of power shots back, and he classed you in defense and attack without having to rip your head and body to bits ,that's a great guy right there knowing to guide you and not destroy you ..top effort
If only every boxer had this quality sparring from more experienced boxers! If older boxers took the time to give youngsters their time in the gyms, we could have experienced sparring partners who are aware of rookie's difficulties help overcome them. All done with control and calmness. With an helping mindset.
I tip my hat to pugilists for having the fortitude to even get into the ring. I can clearly see the pro was giving the amateur some work while not turning it all the way up on him. That is good for building an up and comer without breaking his spirit.
I like how the guy in grey knows how to really keep the distance between them when he does a jab or a straight. When he squares up and covers himself I feel he doesn't function best from that position, but I think he's trying to go easy on the amateur. His head movement is good too. Love the strong combinations from red guy. Both great fighters.
damn i had to sign in to comment that this is one of the bests sparring matches ive seen on youtube.although its oly two rounds its exciting from beginning to end.what i wanna know is what weight division these guys are in.?anybody?
When you spar do you have to go your hardest ? Is it like a regular boxing match but with head gear or are you not supposed to go to your fullest potential, if that makes sense? Im thinking about starting to box but I would like to learn a little about the sport first.
Both very talented, the guy in the grey t shirt is very skilled and sparring with control. Love boxing such a hard art to master, they make it look easy! does any one know there names?
Wow you're really good. I had my first sparring session this week, and my main problem is I don't use my back hand as much because I'm too anxious about closing in. I occasionally threw in a left cross (I'm southpaw) and just jabbed with my right hand. And the person I was facing was more of a pressure fighter so he kept chasing me around the ring, and sometimes I'd just curl up until I remember to move out or pivot. Do you have any tips that might benefit me? Thanks, and nice video :)
So I’m the guy in the white shorts. The dude in red is a division 1 wrestler who blew out his shoulder and couldn’t wrestle anymore, so he took up boxing. This is him training for about a year and holding his own against a pro.
@Comingtoyaaahaaa Didn't see all those swords and axes before! Bet those metal posts helped fighters avoid getting stuck in corners when fight night arrived.
Might want to think about uppercut-hook-straight combo, plus uppercuts and straights when he covers up. And please, learn to cover your liver. Key to this, IMO, is keeping your chin tucked in, which makes it a lot easier to cover your liver and your chin with your right, plus it makes bobbing, weaving and slipping more effective, makes you more elusive. Weave with your legs (not like the pro) so that you'll have power in your counterpunches coming out of it. You got some good hits in.
@Comingtoyaaahaaa hey man, good fight, you guys both looked even, he has good head movement which u need to improve and you have good hooks and uppercuts. He looked like all he mostly used was jabs and crosses and u kept missing with your jabs and crosses. You should try fighting more like how Mike Tyson fighted, he would sorta chase his opponent down and really get in close and throw hooks/uppercuts. Oh yeah How long have you been training boxing for and how long Sparring? Thanks.
Good Job. This guy was going easy on you though. His technique is super smooth, very accurate and respectful. He could have hurt you at any moment during the sparring and only picked it up because you landed 2 hard shots. He was still a gentleman about it. Great sparring partner to have
Sounds stupid my friend... Professional gyma, pro or amateur wear guard to protect their investment.. U r the investment... I like pros that do this and know how to teach an amateur to look for openings. Pro had nice head movement when he turned it on.

Pro has fucking amazing jab
nice sparring session...tried to do this bobbing and weaving in muay thai class today and got a head kick lol
Gotta know the right moments to use boxing movements in Muay Thai. Check out the way guys like Anderson silva and mcGregor use em. Never unnecessarily
It's called timing
I did that same shit at my firat class haha. Coming from a boxing background deff gives you some "bad" habits where muay thai is concerned.

Amateur did well reading the jab at 3:26 and 3:31.. Pro needs to look out for those counters
The professional's dodge is really impressive. Very good.
Still more entertaining than a Mayweather fight.
I wonder who the pro is
Grey shirt is the pro. He’s always ready to strike, but patient. Watch the feet. He glides around effortlessly.
