Me and my friend were one of the few Tool fans here in Beirut, back in the late 90s we watched a Live Tool clip online, we’d only seen Maynard in magazine photos, when we saw him dancing like that we were dumbfounded, why the hell is this guys moving like that, then my friend turned and said “ i think that’s the only way to move while singing a Tool song”, i think he was right.
It happens to a persons voice, it’s inevitable. Eventually you will not be able to scream in such a way so you must cherish every one you get and it truly does seem like he did. Also Maynard has nothing to prove anymore so why risk breaking your money maker.
I don't think any body can do that song with the primal force Maynard does it at (studio version) unless they only had to do just that song and their vocal range was incredible with both the guttural and high tones...and the guttural high tones lol
