Team wasnt motivated. Freeman thought it would be a cakewalk. Lou holtz never under estimated any team. They would laugh at him. But he never had stupid upsets.

If Riley could get control of passing the ball ND could be a contender for the National Championship

We didn't lose to NIU bc of Riley Leonard. That whole team played like shit. They should have taken him out after he got hurt. Put that on the coaches.

One game at a time. Go irish 🍀 🏉. Playoffs 2024!!! Leonard isn't perfect but he's legit. Fans are so spoiled and fickle but will have nothing but praise if natty happens

I like Riley Leonard! He's a tough kid! Runs hard! Carries himself well! He's just not a good passer! Nothing personal!

He's got a good arm, he has good instincts, and he definitely can run. I think his passing has improved ... can't just look at stats last week, there were several drops. ND is on a good trajectory. I don't think they are a NC team, but I definitely believe they are a top 10 ... possibly a top 5 team. If they maintain health.

The coaches blew the NIU game. Not Leonard.
They should’ve pulled him when he got hurt. We have capable backups that could’ve won that game..

Denbrock calling that pass when it was 2nd and 1 with 6 minutes to go and up by one is the reason we lost not leanard. Why does Denbrock get a pass on that. The last 2 OC’s wouldn’t be getting a pass.

Riley has embraced ND culture and gives his everything on every play. Puts his body on the line constantly risking injury. Fans that don’t appreciate what he’s doing need to find a new team. I’ve watched every Irish game since 92 and I love the guy. If he’s consitant passing with his insane ability to run we can compete with anyone

I think IU will upset Ohio State this year. Even when Indiana has been awful , for some reason Ohio State always struggles in the IU game. At least in the 1st half. Then in 2nd half OSU takes control. This yr I'm taking IU. IM a Noter

As for Riley, anyone who saw him play at Duke knew what ND was getting. Was he a great passer at Duke? No. Is he a great scramble? No. He is a fantastic scrambler.
ND got what they expected and with the young O-line it was a great choice.
Do I wish he was more accurate? Of course. If he was, he would be running away with the Heisman. But he isn't and that's ok since he has the benefit of one of the best defenses in college football.
    Go Irish! Beat Cavs! 🍀🍀🍀

That loss to NIU is all on Marcus Freeman. He set the tone for that game. When he changed the practice gave the team Tim off after TX A&M. He set the mindset in the entire team. Going in to play NIU.

If they have an impressive finish it’ll be on Leonard a lot, if they have another anticlimactic embarrassing finish that will also be a lot on Leonard.

I would not feed into that kind of ND fan lol it’s childish. He is who he is and Dembrock/Leonard/offense connection is getting better. We just have to see how we do against a great team now.

No one hates RL, it’s the dislike of the ND coaching that staff can’t or won’t coach up the QB recruits already on the team. To categorize that as hate for RL is on the side of being dishonest. Remembering the recent less than mediocre histories of Hartman and Coen and knowing RL is an injured player coming in with a long history of being an inaccurate passer kind of gives solid reason for questioning the transfer if not just flat out not buying into him. On top of all that you pundits of Irish football media glorifying all their mediocre histories as great omens of things to come - when it doesn’t happen muddies any positives that might actually be there. So please stop with the RL haters labeling. As it stands, he’s a good runner and just barely a 60% passer.

I just wish Riley would embrace the short passing game” if he does, he’ll improve tremendously! Riley as a person? The guy is all class so don’t understand why people would confuse his play, with his character.
We have the team to go deep into the playoffs!
BTW: Hartman was a waste AND extremely overrated- Riley is better!

I just think it's funny listening to all the Notre Dame people out there just like count Notre Dame out of the national championship and winning it? I don't understand they look like one of the best teams in the country I think Notre Dame has a great chance of winning the national title this year I'm not trying to do our own horn or anything like that but with this defense and if this offense can throw the ball a little bit better who can stop them really who Oregon? I mean Ohio State we already know they're not all that great I'm sorry Notre Dame right now would beat Ohio State the only team I see that would give Notre Dame a trouble is Oregon

No disrespect taken whatsoever on visiting Indiana comments lol! Family company is in south bend and we live in Michigan across the state line. Die hard ND fans. But it’s fucking hilarious, you can always tell the blue collar Notre Dame fans from the ego filled idiots that think they went to Notre Dame or alumni who are loaded and stuck in the past for 40 years ago 😂😂😂. Those fans truly ruin some of the joy. Especially working here in south bend 😂 you never know what sort of fan or even hater you will find here 😂 if fans opinions on Lenard’s legacy is still “ruined” after reaching a final four they can eat dirt 😂. I’d be more than thrilled. Time to come back to reality for some fans of ND. Wins and losses from any team is never a doubt with ND. Always expect the worst and hope for the best but don’t complain for having a top 10-20 team in the country.. I’m 27, I remember the god awful years of Charlie’s Weis ending.. that should say enough 😂😂😂
