Bistecca ranked #23 in the latest ranking of the world’s best steak restaurants, the only Sporean steak house ranked. Good job on the series, and especially this grand finale episode. Thank you.
Definitely probably one of the more expensive series that you could do, but thanks so much for doing the series! Looking forward to the next, no matter what it is!
rubicon has my heart! been there and it was game changing. shared a 500G ribeye cut with my date with mashed potato, rice and the garlic. finished it off with their oysters. I especially love that i can dine comfortably in the cozy restaurant.
omg this was such a great series alderic, thanks for ending it off with a bang! What's next!! glad you also considered the peripherals because ngl i love peripherals like piping hot bread
great series! would love to see one on more local cuisine as the past 3 ones were more on the western side of things! searching singapore for singaporean food would mean that it would most likely be the best version of its sort in the world as well. thanks for the time and effort in delivering a new episode weekly and for the increase in production value, editing skills and overall technical aspects of the videos, its been a treat watching this channel grow with the effort you put into it.
Came across this channel recently and, I found myself really enjoying your content - and though I've only seen the Steak series I'm definitely going to watch the series prior!
Awesome video, nice addition of the actionable intel haha. Looking forward to your steak cooking video, hope to see a solid crust & nice medium rare! Bak chor mee or fish & chips next please(:
Great that you explored a good variety of steak cooking style and origins ( this would have been interesting to explore more: Argentinian Beef - Bochinche, New Zealand Ocean Beef - Wakanui, Vintage Galiciana Beef - Only Upmarket Places ) Its really hard to make a fair comparison but you did well by starting off with "What was YOUR preferred steak features" 👍 Ultimately, places that show understanding of their product and respect it by applying the appropriate techniques deserve the most praise. Can't imagine a beautiful piece of Wagyu on extreme heat to waste all that fat.
yeah I think I covered most of the entry-level steak ideas like USDA, Japanese and Australian beef in the first season. Thanks for the recommendations! I will save that for the 2nd season and talk about lesser known stuff.
There are a lot of food that you can make a series wahahaha Bak Kut Teh, Crabs, Laksa, Fish and Chips, Japan Curry Rice, Sushi, Sashimi, Korean Ramen and so many more lol! Really like this series hope u can find ur next wanted series!
Love this series, looking forward to a Ramen series, Specifically Tonkotsu ramen since there are so many types. The teeth whitening thingy seems to be working! Alex the French dude also seems to be making a ramen series season 2, might catch the hype wave
thank you! I think if I do a ramen series, I will again go with the restaurant's best ramen instead of restricting it to a certain style like tonkotsu or shio.
@@Alderic. the Really Dough is a pretty good format for foods with variety e.g. ramen, pizza, cai fan. Lotsa variation between dishes so they can be hard to compare. Compared to steaks, fried chicken, chicken rice.
"Darling it's better down where it's wetter!' OMG... you make me LOL in my office!! I hope I still have a job after this!! Thank you for doing these!!! I have to say that this is the best series you have ever done! Can't wait for the next one!! Though I hope it will be more pocket friendly for you! 🙂
Awesome series! As a foreigner, who ocassionally visit Singapore, I suppose I would like to watch something like the best Chicken Rice, or best Seafood in Singapore, also maybe best noodle dish (laksa or otherwise). Godspeed.
hi Alderic, it's me again. seems like you love crusts just as much as me. you have to try Armoury's premium wagyu ribeye 580g. I've tried pretty much all the steakhouses you have tried (and more) and I can tell you that it's unbeatable for the price point. the crust and juiciness is amazing.
looking forward to your next series. Probably can do one on japanese cuisine since there are so many japanese restaurants around. Or you can do a special coffee roastery or cafe special too as I am a coffee lover! Thanks!
Alderic, just going to throw this idea out, because it is such a unique food that ONLY Singapore and Malaysia do well, best egg prata in Singapore. Deadset, in Australia, we get 3/10 egg pratas for $15, in Singapore, you can get 10/10 egg prata for $2.80. Just an idea, would be great in showing some local cuisine, even if only 1 episode! Much love ❤
Btw I had this fake wagyu at an international five star hotel overseas. But they were honest about it. They indicated on the menu that the meat was actually injected with fat. Same principal as the stevia tomato in korea. Don't have to reply me publicly. But do you think any of those that you reviewed might have done similar thing?
thank you for the dono again! hm I highly doubt so. the overtly fatty profile of meltique beef is quite noticeable and I don't think any of these famous steakhouses dare risk catching a case with product substitution. Injecting jus is interesting but it needs some kind of stabilizer. it doesn't sit as nicely as fat at room temperature.
last episode and you are still in your white shirt :') on another note, how is the convergent validity of your rating? your best tasting steak isn't in your top 3 recommended steakhouse ;) loved the series!
yup! gonna retire the shirt after this series XD yeah it's the best tasting but other things like peripherals and consistency (I rate this based on what people tell me via dms/comments) are lacking. even the cook on it wasn't optimal. nevertheless, a very bold and tasty steak. glad you love it!
Thank you Alderic for doing all the "jaw-work" so that we can save money by zooming in directly to the steaks that we would most probably enjoy based on their different attributes that you have discovered 😊
Hey Alderic, do Singaporeans call "Peripherals" or it's just you? I find that an odd usage for food. Maybe "Compliments" would sound better if it's free. "Sides" if you're actually paying for it.

Fish and Chips has to be the next move bro. Honestly a dish that doesn't get enough love and credit for how well it can be done
+1
true. too many places just get away with throwing overly battered frozen fish into hot oil.
@@Alderic. how about best hamburgers ? Or best nasi Lemak
@@78Mkv he already did best burgers

thank you for watching! I actually wanted to have a best bread award but I thought peripherals will give a better overview.

Very nice, mouth watering series! Looking forward to the next one, perhaps on Japanese Omakase?

I second this suggestion!

Aglio Olio next. Easier on the budget. Great job on the steak videos. What a journey
I do need a budget recovery period. thanks for dropping much appreciated comments!
I for one am always on the hunt for good aglio olio, something so simple but many place seem to fail at
Congrats & Thanks man, great finish to the series. Super helpful and can’t wait to try some new spots! 👍😎🥩
I will walk anywhere for your reviews. Oh wait I AM walking and listening to them now...

OK, this one I'll watch! For that special occasion. Hope your next series will be more ... everyday. Like chicken rice! 😁

Arguably the best food reviewer in Sg right now. 3 steaks for Alderic
you're too kind my guy. I'll try to prove you right.

hi there!! great job on the reviews you're freaking hilarious. personal preference for sure but maybe best bak Chor mee for your next series??
Make a series for Carbonara! Would suggest pasta but it's too broad of a category to make.

thank you! I think most likely, a local dish is coming up.
Thank you for the great series.....Maybe you try the next series of home cooking...private dining.... 😊
ooo private dining will be so intimidating. I cannot imagine giving any 'misses' in the chef's own home.

The “Best bolognese” would be great!
The owner of Les Bouchons fell to his knees crying after seeing this video
I don't think they care

Why u din go Lawry's,jacks place n Aston? 🤭😂

saving money does sound very good right now.
I am curious
Have you tried the steak at 665 Degrees Fahrenheit?
I went to Rubicon! It's value for money and good
Enjoyed this video! Cheers.
Sadly i really miss happy western in lavander. It is the best kopitiam steak i've ever eaten.
Its no longer around anymore after the owners retired.

CUT has really bad acoustics though. no carpet plus low ceiling means it gets noisy when half full, can't have a good convo going for a date
oh you're right... I sat outside and didn't think about the inside. maybe should have gave it to Bistecca instead then.
The last thing I expected from this awards show was to hear about Guga 😂
Best butter briyani in SG?
Great video!
Try laksa! Alot of good laksa in sg
Awesome video!!!!!!

What do you think of the steaks at Bochinche?
I haven't tried unfortunately. I would have went if this series had just one more episode.
Maybe do a Singaporean dish next? Best Laksa, chicken rice, or even just best "zi char". Thanks again Alderic for the wonderful series!
I'm wondering if there's any way to go to CUT just for that bread basket 😭
you can go for their mains which are $30-40? there are also cheaper steaks at about $110.

nah it's just me. I just needed a term to encompasses everything else other than the main steak and 'periphery' came to mind.
