Yes you can make the pieces in another App, just make sure to save it in PSD and to have each piece in a separate layer. also dont worry about extra stuff in the document, as you can check on and off the layers you want to add and you dont need to do this step of turning it into a symbol but i would still suggest doing it (and setting as graphic) as it saves as solid images (you wont be able to tween if you don't) the rest is simple, animate that bad boi

I know the sprites will overlap if you make the sprite bigger than Dearest, but even though you *should* use e.g. pico if you're making a smaller character, would it matter if you made a shorter character over Dearest?
You can use any character you want as a reference point! And you can make characters *way* bigger than DD (like Djentbot Phases 3 and 5 are HUGE) I just used DD to get an idea of how big he'd look in game. The overlap problem is only a thing if you literally draw over the original PNG file, and leave the XML file untouched. This method with Animate generates a new XML file that'll fit your sprites perfectly no matter the size.

Hello everyone! If you're working on a fnf mod but can't afford Animate, Krita offers great tools for these as well. Minus many of the high tier animation things, Krita can let you animate frame by frame using the animate workspace. Just render each frame out as an imagin (using the render animation button under file) and use the spritesheet and xml generator for fnf on Gamebanana. After that all of the processes are the exact same as done in the end of this video!
Another thing is that when in the character editor, there is a button that says "Get Icon Color." Press it and it will change the health bar color to the color it detects.
It's not working. It kept saying error when I try to reload the image. I'm doing everything it says and nothing works. Is it because it's lacking frames? Is it because it's to many frames? I'm so confused

EVERYONE!! If you are having trouble placing your character in the song, it's not you. It's the PSYCH ENGINE VERSION. I had to downgrade from 0.7.3 TO 0.5.1 In this version, it worked just fine for me

hi so i followed your tutorial it seems to work for other people but its not working for me i mean the first part is good but for some reason when i go to map the poses its not working, it wont update the poses. i named everything correctly, i spelled everything correctly, i clicked the correct poses and updated them but it just wont update it keeps saying error for some reason. now i am using an XML generator so idk if that has anything to do with it, and my character has one frame of animation for every pose (this is my first time doing this and i didnt feel like animating yet) so idk if thats also a problem i did try it with more frames but still didnt work. i know your using adobe animate so idk if you can help me but if you can please or just anyone reading the comments.
thanks i made a character using this and made a animation trigger in the debug menu edit: forgot something to say, when i put my character in the game then run the stage, the camera doesn't move to my character
my character is just a reskin of bf and i am using 6.2 as the version of psych engine but every time i type in BF NOTE LEFT into the singLEFT thing it keeps showing the miss animation and then cuts to the non miss animation. Please help dude
@@AshthePiggyPro download the bf animation file, and then export it. Look at the name of it, and at the end it will have instance 1 at the end of the name.

ERROR), but my character is not there! I tried a .json file (bc in the "Readme" said "Load to .json") but that didn't work either! Help me please.

It comes along with the other file. But when exporting you need to make sure it's "sparrow v2"

You can absolutely draw them in other programs first. I drew all of Djentbot’s pieces in Illustrator and moved them over

That's the whole point of using animate for the sprites, it automatically makes a spritesheet AND an xml
