Camshaft gears have any alignment / they need to be inserted in specific position ? Or locking the camshaft and impulse wheel is enough to do the job. Thanks!
if the gears don't have any marks then and are floating then just make sure the plate that goes over the gears is on right and the timing is right (the cam alignment and crankshaft)(TDC) (It is always better to mark everything even if it is floating pulleys)
Hi . When you change the chain kit , do you change the water pump aswell or its not like volkswagen engine type ? I changeg the chain kit on my car but still noisy and oily . Also got charged a lot for it . Is it justifiable to be charged £1100 for this service or is it a rip off? Thank you .
It is advisable to change the water pump with the timing belt/chain. The noise could be many things it is best to have it looked at to make sure its not going to cause major problems. I am not sure about the prices that other companies and countries charge.
I just had timing chain changed on my E87, and paid £700 altogether (kit + labour). Probably depends on the garage and the area you live in. I'm in a small town in East Midlands, so suspect it's not nearly as expensive as somewhere like London.
If the timing tensioner work under oil pressure when the engine is off the timing chain should be loose ? my car stops many times by driving and i have noticed the timing chain is a bit loose but when i turn the engine is hard again.. i must change the timing chain to ? thanks if you could help me with 🙏
This timing change was noisy and I could here that it needed to be changed its always best to have it checked to see if it has to much movement to make sure it wont cause bigger damages later in time. if you have any questions or need help let me know. Will help where I can.
Where in South Africa are you located? I have an N45 engine and I’m about to replace my valve stem seals. The mechanic insists on not replacing the chain but the car has 256 000km so it’s worrying me. What’s your opinion?
Sorry for late reply. I would recommend to replace the change if it hasn't been replaced in the last 150 000 km or if you want to be safe Then you will have new guides and a new chain If you not sure if it was replaced before then rather replace it for safety

Hi, Were you able to remove oil pan without removing the subframe?
Hello. If you loosen the 2 bottom engine mountings and lift the engine you can get the sump off without removing the subframe
Another great job done. Love watching your channel.
Thank you! Cheers!
Good job 👍💐
Thanks a lot
