  • Silence is golden, Speech is Silver. Leyla Tacconi sets out to express the wonderful ways of communication without the influence of verbal speech. From gestures to posture, Tacconi illustrates that we are capable of communicating with any part of our body and we can easily live in the world without voice.
    Leyla Tacconi thrives with the ability to communicate her ideas through creative media, such as music and art. Having initially viewed silence as a boundary to communication, her love for the arts and Italian origin have evoked a new view towards non-verbal communication. Tacconi believes that if we use a little less sound and leave it all to nature and expression, we might make the world a better place.
    A conductor doesn’t speak to his orchestra; he uses body language in an extreme manner to ensure that the strings, woodwinds, brass, percussion and keyboards understand when and how they have to play. Therefore, non-verbal communication is useful in these things, as it allows people to get in touch with one another and to understand the piece, speech and music more deeply. The ways of communicating are vital in the world and Tacconi is keen to raise awareness of this to those around her.

    Amazingly impressive for a thirteen year old girl! No one in my college public speaking class could have done any better (except for the professor). I believe that Leyla has great things in her future. She is off to an impressive start.

      Howsoever be it, let us learn to appreciate one another, so many 13 yo, may not be able to do this. It takes courage. Appreciate people, atleast for once, without the least criticism. Thank you.

      Oh man thank you, I didn't intend to criticize your criticism or light joke, I know a little of it was jokish, but what I really wanted to say in a good way is, Why can't we just avoid the flaws we found and just be all Good with her. :-)

    Great presentation! Fantastic example of the importance on non-verbal communication. I am very happy to see younger generations speak about this topic. It is extremely important to teach this in schools as communication is important for life success personally and professionally.
    Having said that some of the things she is saying are not scientifically proven so be carful of that you believe or read.

      You're absolutely right! Kids are wonderful. We need to do our utmost to keep them as pure as we can in this corrupt system, that they have to live in. They have so much to contend with, peer pressure, to fit in with the in crowd. Drugs, alcohol, etc. Thanks to Jehovah God Almighty, that it won't be this way always. For He is going to usher in a new government, where nothing but peace and righteousness, will abound. I hope to meet you there, my friend.

    Peace sign verses fingers facing the other way around is not offensive in Australia.
    The Peace Sign means Peace her, but turn you fingers around and it is offensive as it is the same as giving someone the bird.

    Interesting talk but it was almost painful to watch, i could feel your nervousness but the info is great. Also alpha members of any group dont always stand straight, they use there status to act stand or sit however they wish. if u do this talk again ( as i hope you do as its good ) sit or stand on the stage how u feel comfortable, its your talk dont feel forced in to a standard thats not you, it would improve your confidence and make u at ease thus improving your performance

    • @slammija9517

      she's moving around and using her arms to display how she feels as she tells the story, that's the point -- body language speaks louder than what she's actually saying

    • @ctno3
      @ctno3 7 років тому +2

      slam mija i agree but in this talk both speach and body are saying differant things, so can come across disingenuous in places. im not ridiculing her, its a comment on how she's portraying her msg. all your hearing is what shes saying and your missing the larger picture of the story of what her body is saying in conjunction. And body language is less about arm movement and walking arround its timing and pace, hesitations or not, its very little things that you read in groups as a whole to paint the masterpeice. But i can tell from your comment your not up to speed on that yet

    • @UltiminiumX
      @UltiminiumX 7 років тому +4

      Did you read some of the comments here? Looks like she was just 13 years old at the time of this speech, I too found that she was being very shy and nervous, but I appreciated her courage and efforts (which were very visible,) to me she feels like a very nice person, so considering her age, I'd say she did just amazing :)

    • @ctno3
      @ctno3 7 років тому +1

      UltiminiumX i agree i takes great courage and she did do amazingly well my first comment was tips as i think she should do more!! but the feild she is commenting on is more then critical and without others commenting and helping with critiques she wont get very far
