Jeremy is so right. I don’t actually watch Star Wars anymore.
I watched the original trilogy 10 years ago just to understand the hype before watching the force awakens, and since then I only watch UA-cam drama about Star Wars because it's way more interesting than this commercialised, overrated BS
Wztching modern star wars isnt healthy for your body.
Maybe you could read the books but go off smart guy
I’ll watch another season of Andor. But yeah, otherwise I’ll watch videos about Star Wars
He fully went into the meme and even he knows its true.
Can’t hear OSHA without thinking of workplace safety. Lol
Same here. Every time
Yup
I also think of Osho the cult leader
Leslie took their names from a soap company in Canada. Oshamae soap
It seems putting on a hard helmet is pleasing to both Osha and OSHA
"What's my motivation?"
"The script."
"Now this is writing!"
Now, this is pod racing. 😂
The Acolyte in a nutshell: "They treat it like it's some sort of bulls*** sithcom"
- Jeremy Jahns
You know it’s a Disney product when they’re not afraid to add a wet shirtless guy as a thirst trap; but simultaneously decide that Leia in a bikini is problematic.
Remember- traits that men have are bad. But when women take up those same traits, are good.
We live in Upside Down world.
Not just that, but the twilek jedi for exposing her stomach, too.
Because she's not their type
20 century fox made Star Wars empire not Disney…this the second time we saw. Shirtless dude it’s goofy writing…like are they going to get it on? Nope
i say the objectification of the body is an equal opportunity fair game for all genders. if it serves a purpose for the story, then i don’t see what the issue is with nudity. the problem arises when men or women are topless as a prop and it adds nothing more to the plot.
I feel bad for the people forcing themselves to watch this show. Jeremy, you’re doing the lord’s work
People having to watch it to do reviews are probably a big percentage of the current audience....
i feel bad in the opposite direction. It is a shame folks aren't enjoying it as much as I am.
@@paulianhodgson Wow
Forcing? Is that what you tell yourself because you and your fav UA-camr who dictates how
You think and feel….tell you so? 😂
@@paulianhodgsonlook up the streaming numbers….it would make you mad that people are watching it. Which sounds like a personal problem
the worst part is that despite all the "the force is female" BS, they gave the female lead NO agency, both characters she's playing just gets dragged around by other people the whole series and any time they do decide to do something on their own the story just forgets it happened (ie. Mae deciding to surrender to the Jedi)
It's by design. They don't want you to enjoy stories with "minorities," they want it to suck to cause division. And they don't want us to have moving stories or music at all because we might be uplifted or inspired. It's not like people suddenly got uninspired and lost all talent, it's just that powerful people want the masses desolate. It must burn their ass that so many of us are still entertained by criticism vids.
When did they say the force was female? 🤔
@@aeschylus6250I’m sure there is a not insignificant portion of the Star Wars fan base that this applies to. But that doesn’t mean Rey, Osha, and Mae aren’t just poorly written characters. Also, OP never said anything about Osha being too weak. Sounds to me like you need to check your own bias.

"you could've just had Sol apprehend Mae at the end of the last episode and it would've been the same result"

"You killed my friends!"
"Yup."
"You killed Yord!"
"Uh-huh."
"You killed Jecki!"
"Yeah, wanna wear my sweet Dark Side helmet?"
"Yes, please."
Yeah that scene would have worked if we had seen ocea struggle with her hate for the jedi for kicking her out... Its weird that they set the proper plot lines and yet fail to deliver in every single on of them
There is an entertaining script here its just executed poorly...
"You stole away my sister!"
"Yes, but have you considered the fact that I'm super hot?"
"Wait, what'd you say? I was too busy looking at your abs."
Sith mind reading check: "Yord would've probably died from ironing his clothes while wearing them and Jecki wasn't really your friend... Either way, sun's out, guns out."

The more you know.
Well that's stupid! Because every time I hear Osha I hear OSHA!!!

This helmet blocks out everything except the force... and also the force
It being a forced plot device makes this all the better.
Still doesn’t explain how the stun gun didn’t stun him, he was hit in the shoulder
I think he meant it like how Magneto helmet works in comics. It can block out telepathy and other mental attacks (projections etc).
The writing is…just so great.
I don't remember cortosis actually having the capacity to block force abilities...ahhh, this is Disney/Marvel Star Wars. My bad...

Disney: Come to the Dark Side, we have abs
Having abs definitely makes you evil
Thank God nobody is "objectifying" women anymore - that would get in the way of showing off shirtless men.
The Force truly is female ^^
Disney sold this show as ground-breaking from a creator who has an interesting opinion about the world of Star Wars
It is just a poorly done Reylo Fanfic...
Marvel’s had this thing going on too, “we have to communicate to the audience that this male protagonist is powerful! How? We show them shirtless!”
Good arms and Abs, but skipped chest day for some reason.
In all seriousness he’s the best thing in the show along with Sol. He’s a very good actor and I expect we’ll see him in more movies after this.
All valid points. There is too much convenience. No effort in consequences. No knowledge of time. The twins are all over the place with their arcs.

0:04 cant be more accurate.
The fact that we’ve seen Jeremy go from slightly optimistic to just downright alcoholism in 6 episodes is impressive. Good on you for not tapping out after episode 0 like most people.
He was definitely not “slightly optimistic” to begin with lol. He was very mid on the show after the premiere, and said he wasn’t even sure if he was going to continue making videos about it.
Tee hee
No.
Tap out. One video about this show is all Jahns’ platform needed. It’s a waste of time to watch the show and a waste of time to produce these videos about it. At this point I'm more interested in what kind of scotch JJ is drinking than The Acolyte.

Yes, Blue Label.

😂😂😂
Jeremy, I think this is one of your best EVER reviews; love the line at 8:47 " ... She forgets what happened ... that day!"
I was afraid of Jeremy's liver but I forgot his brain took just as much damage
Being afraid of Jeremy's liver seems like a very specific fear
Brain damage from the show is probably more dehabilitating then the liver damage from all the Johnny Walker.
@@JamieWittGuitar did you see how much alcohol he had left? Very valid fear if you ask me 😂
@@faizahmohammedaruwa I'm just being pedantic because he said he's afraid OF Jeremy's liver not FOR it. It brought up a humourous mental image of someone being chased by a liver.
Uhm actually 🤓 alcohol causes just as much damage to the brain as the liver aka wet brain. So Jeremy’s brain is of more concern since it’s taking a double hit 💁🏻♂️
My god, 20 years from now JJ when you are a full blown alcoholic, you can pinpoint the moment your life went downhill and hopefully sue Lucas Film for this.

Lucas film will have been dissolved by that point.

That intro was so spot on
Sol letting out his emotions and slamming his fist into the table and acting the way he's acting got me thinking he's truly got alternative motives
that would be the a reasonable assumption to make in a show with consistent characterization
And I remember Jeremy being all excited on those SW quizz games at conventions, answerimg difficult questions about the expanded universe and so on... annd now, watching him, as well as a major part of the SW fandom, not giving a **** anymore is so sad... Disney has massacred our boy.
I remember him singing...
"StaWars, nothing but StarWars..."
With a SŴ bed sheet, as a cape.
He will be fine. It's not a basic necessity.
I just don't understand how can you dislike something for so long and stick around the entire time. Grifters I guess.
I'm in the same boat, brother. Read 150+ novels and countless comics. Edited Wookieepedia for years. Won a local SW trivia contest twice in a row so thoroughly, they asked me to join the jury so things could be interesting again.

i haven’t seen an episode of this but i’ve watched all of your videos. thank you
The way characters drip-feed us tiny scraps of information and then either walk away or get interrupted by a conveniently timed problem. It allows the writers to spin out short, simple conversations into entire episodes.
So so so true that is probably the most frustrating aspect of this dishonest crap
Yea - when the ship comes back online, then that important information is left hanging in the air LOL
Good point. The season would be 2-3 episodes shorter if during both the sister's 2nd meeting on the forest planet they just asked "Wait, you think 16 years ago I burned down the whole place and killed our witch sisters?" - "Ok so what actually happened that night according to you?"
@@thiefofa1073 "runtime padding"
It feels like Leslye Headland had *maybe* 90 minutes of “story” and D+ said stretch it into 8 episodes.
I feel like this was originally pitched as a shorter movie but they changed it to a show because they wouldn't greenlight a movie.
That's been every D+ show. Writers should be struggling to condense to 6-8 episodes but instead ate struggling to find enough ways to pad them out.
@@bradmiles1984 But then still dropped 180 mill anyways? Nah, tv shows are just generally easier to launder money through because there is much more going on and bigger time crunches with lots of 'extra' guests opportunities.
They did this to Kenobi so I wouldn't doubt it
8 episodes 30 mins that's 4 hrs with good editing you can bring that down to 1hr 50mins
Let's just say she got a good look at every shade of his saber color...
3:27 “We don’t know, cause she doesn’t know, cause the writers don’t know.” Easily the best summary of this show I’ve read.
This show, Ahsoka, Kenobi, and BoBF were all supposed to be movies under the "A Star Wars Story" label. After Solos box office flop, Disney announced that they were stopping the ASWS series and focussing on Disney+. My guess is these shows were all half-baked movie scripts that have been stuffed with filler and cut into episodes. This one is the most egregious so far with all the awkward cuts and cliffhangers out of nowhere. I mean what was that ending scene in this episode? It's so amateur it hurts! $180 million for this? Cmon.
That actually makes a lot of sense...
The problem with this thought process is that if they were afraid of another box office flop, then why spend $180M just to put it on Disney+. They aren't recouping that much money from a show on a streaming service. Nothing about their actions make sense because Acolyte doesn't even mesh with the High Republic books that Disney created.
