It would have been kind of cool to see an alternative world where he was actually one of the Samoans and they started it way back when to have 40 Years of a bloodline in wrestling under one gimmick moniker
Strength and speed of a man of Yokozuna's size is incredible! He belongs in the Phenom status with Andre the Giant, Vader, Bam Bam Bigelow, and The Undertaker
Zuna was a top level guy... Kind and one of a kind... Never ashamed to help the brothers and sister's in the industry... God bless him... And thank you taker xx
Yoko was one of the only big men that was aware of the size differential. When he landed a leg drop or a banzai drop, he made sure to shift his weight to ensure that the guy on the receiving end didn't get crushed.
A lot of Samoans eat turkey tails. Since meat was scarce on the pacific islands during the 1950s, the poultry industry started importing their turkey tails to the Samoan Islands to provide them with a cheap source of protein, and started a Samoan family tradition. They have family gatherings to eat turkey tails and drink beer. Ironically, Samoans got so overweight and had an obesity problem that their government actually banned turkey tales for a period of time. Imo Yoko, Bam Bam, and Vader are the most agile big men of all time.
Believe you me, Yokozuna did some pretty awesome moves for his size...wrestlers like the Great Khali, Giant Gonzales, and Omos wished they could be as athleticly gifted as him. He was not only a monster, but a sumo wrestler with other talent outside the ring.
I wish WWE would have explained Taker interfering in the Roman vs Cody match in this manner of "I have fought your Bloodline since you were in diapers" type of shit... instead of treating the moment like it wasn't important at all.

Rodney had a severe weight problem . He started somewhat healthy in WWF but then his weight kept increasing . He was fired and they wouldn’t rehire him , he was working indy’s and wanted the be 800-1000 lbs . Of he’d have stayed in the 300 lb range he could’ve had a longer career
It wasn't even that they wouldn't rehire him iirc. They legally couldn't hire him because of the health risk he had and how it affected their talent insurance.
_"Did Yoko feel obligated to be that size for the character"_ That sight kinda told me _Yoko_ didn't but *_The Fed_* at the time kinda did. _Just spit ballin'._
Well let's say if yoko did drop weight, would still be considered Yokozuna? Because we know Yokozuna as this super heavyweight but if he lost weight, I don't think he would be seen as he once was. Could he have been obligated to stay big to maintain character? That's a good question, only one who can answer that is taker in a way but mainly Yokozuna himself and yes, he's one of those guys that should be in that phenom level like bam bam bigelow,, vader, and other agile and athletic big men, taker also being one of them.
according to rikishi it was a personal problem, yoko was obsessed with food the only thing he looked forward to, he didnt want to go out, he didnt want to hunt for girls, he wanted to order 10 cheeseburgers and watch TV. it's actually pretty sad kishi talked about it on his lil podcast he does now and it was really heartbreaking the family wanted to help him but again it was a personal problem nothing you can do but watch. funny thing is people assuming it was the fed pressuring him was a big reason they cut him, imagine being blamed for making him too fat after they suspended him multiple times and other punishments because he wouldnt LOSE weight

Yokozuna from 1992 - Early 1995 was great to watch. Late 1995 - 1996 Yokozuna was depressing He shouldve tried to stay at 500 or maybe 450. Even though that's still an outrageous amount of weight, he made it work. It defied the laws of psychics 😂 but then he gained more weight & he ultimately got let go because of it. Yoko in his prime was fun Sad how young he was when he passed

The only Wrestler I wrestled for was Yoko. He was in England in his final Year of life, gigantic man. But was waiting patiently for the local Wrestling to start. I told my friend whose parents run the location. Just go with me and go over by the ring. Then just laid him to the outside turn buckle and messed around for 5-10 minutes in the ring. The smile that came on his face was worth it.
I remember in 4th and 5th grade being Yokozuna on the Wrestlemania Arcade game at the roller rink. I knew how to mash A and B together to Bodyslam each opponent over and over before they ever got a chance to make a move. I always won. Looking back it was stupid of me but fuck it, I laughed.
Being a big person myself to see this man move so athletic & smooth in that ring was super wild! If "don't let looks fool you" was a person! #RipYokozuna 🕊🤲🏾
