- To help promote Shadow the Hedgehog, Sega actually sponsored a wrestling event in which a Shadow the Hedgehog Mascot turned up and pulled a stunt in the ring.
Elsewhere in the World, a Sonic Mascot actually got into a wrestling event...

so let me get this straight..
first someone almost DIES, then it starts playing some sort of pop love song and then shadow the hedgehog comes out of nowhere and pulls off stunts, what a world we live in...

@sleepy It was Eggman's Grandfather, Professor Gerald Robotnik in an experiment to save his step-grandaughter(Mary) from her sickness, who created Shadow, not Eggman.
Shadow in a blood-covered ring is as on brand as it gets honestly
I was told that the reasoning for shadow the hedgehog holding a gun wasnt to appeal to the fps gaming community, rather it was due to fan submitted letters based around what fans wanted to see in a new sonic game, and the most reoccurring message was sonic with a gun, sega realized that they cant have their mascot holding a gun, so they defaulted to shadow as an excuse to also flesh out his backstory.
This is true.
But when you have to then market that. You have to change the target demographic since not everyone writes letters asking for guns.
And they want to guess what Sega does not care about the fans they say they care they don't really give us what we want yeah they don't take down my fan creative project Anna lost you Dad and Peace book the games that Sega is actually making though that's what Sega is lacking as a good company because a lot of kids actually don't like don't did the election Sonic Colors win for the series and I find that kind of ironic Sega knew what they Target demographic wanted Whiskas children it would have made the sign making better I'm just saying this do you really want Sonic game is acid good the last Sega and if you will have a Sega for it boom the last thing Sega is the best way we just Spam the stuff until that post to do it and get other people on board and boom Sega supposed to do it

@@endernightthedrokain1770 In Japan to promote Sonic Forces did Sega make a Deal with Hooters were several of there locations were temporarily decorated with Sonic Plushies, it gave a special Sonic menu and drink coasters and finally did the girls dance to First Bump.

Seeing Sonic the Hedgehog, Shadow the Hedgehog and Mario involved in wrestling is quite interesting honestly and I now want to see Sonic & Shadow wrestle, SEGA make it happen!
To be fair, in the Shadow the Hedgehog game, when Shadow's unarmed, he does what I've always referred to as "Kung-Fu moves"
Either the Kung Fu moves were programmed in the game before the event, which would make sense...Or after the event, which gave Sega the idea to make Shadow have martial arts skills
I'm 100% on board with the idea of replacing the Game Awards with video game mascot wrestling. They could even still have game announcements during intermissions.

I honestly want Sonic cosplayers train to wrestle, one could be Sonic, One could be Silver, maybe Jet and shadow. and just be human versions of them. but they all have unique movesets, badass entrances, their own sonic themes and man we need that in 2021
It would be so cool to see, but not in mascot suits. we need people who can compete and give them very awesome entrances and movesets.
Personalities would be as follows
Sonic: The fast, cocky and arrogant wrestler who can do high flying and is all around a good wrestler, also he would be a face.
Shadow: Tweener (Anti-Hero) easily could be a nasty brawler and fight the very best.
Silver: The underdog babyface who is firey and resilient, he isn't arrogant or cocky, but will make mistakes sometimes.
Jet: Just like Sonic he is Arrogant, Cocky, Egotistical, but he's more of the Tweener (Villain Lean) type of quick high flyer.
Imagine that fatal 4 way in 2021. holy shit.

I think the Sonic v Mario match may have had something to do with Promoteing Mario and Sonic at The Olympic Games for Wii since I belive it was just annouced around that time.

I think you're really underestimating the crossover between nerd and professional wrestling culture.
As a gaming and wrestling fan. Why they didn't produce this with DDT (Dramatic Dream Team) instead is baffling. I get the SegaSammy sponsorship and stuff, but this would have been a LOT better with DDT. The crowd would have taken this a lot better compared to the MMA Hardcore stance in Pancrase.

back in 2010, there was this show in Mexico called (se me cae la sopa/ the soup fell) it was basicly gossips and rumors about celebrities, but ill never forget one time they got a hole fucking group of dancers dressed up as Sonic characters while dancing some cumbia or hiphop cringy songs. The costumes looked awful, they were basically the same but in different colors, it was so fucking cringey. Imagine waking up at 7 am before goingto school, turn on the tv and watch Shadow, Sonic and Amy dancing Dynamite from Taio Cruz *8 year old me was having a panic attack*
