Hey Bob! X3 update! Just started block 3 and rocking it! Getting better each week. Surprisingly, one of my favorite workouts is Yoga when I absolutely dreaded it in the original. You are right though, this program is way better when it comes to time. It was really hard to make up a workout doing P90X. Now if I miss one, it's easy to double up to catch up on the week. For me, X3 is better for longevity and this is the longest I've stuck with a program at one time. I'll keep you updated on my progress at the end of the month!
Shawn O'Neil that is AWESOME to hear dude! Thanks for the update and most importantly great job on staying consistent (this program absolutely rocks for that purpose alone!). What do you think of Decelerator? That one honestly took me by complete surprise...I thought it was going to be a slower version of "Accelerator"...but not quite!! Keep rocking it!!!
I have both and did both. P90X is better because it really tests your strength and flexibility period. Plus, the longer workouts build endurance in a shorter period of time. Also, there is more lifting so better definition comes when finished. ;)
P90X trains your body, but also trains your mind, that's why Yoga X it's the best challenge to everyone, because involves a lot of willing power an discipline to make it.
Hey ***** it looks like your privacy settings doesn't allow me to reply directly to you, but you do have an amazing question! P90X3 as a muscle building program can definitely be used in a similar manner to P90X, and in fact the Mass Schedule option that comes with X3 focuses primarily on that alone (following a lot of Eccentric Upper/Lower variations). Feel free to check out Will P90X3 Build Muscle? It Depends on these 3 Things! for more info on the muscle building opportunities with X3.
My only gripe with P90X is that they never released a blur ray version in today's widescreen. So either you watch it with black bars on the side, or stretched.
Both are the best programs. I agree with Coach Bob, P90X3 gets the same results in half the time. I lost 30 lbs on classic in 2010, and lost 30 lbs with X3 just this year. I say the shorter is best because you save time and the workouts are over quick!
@@DJLOUIE1000 I feel like x3 gets your upper body (for men) to 80% of where p90x can take you. Meaning close, but not exactly the same. But you can also add your own extra work in, since the x3 is only 30 minutes.
Eh, tony isnt the same in p90x 2 or 3, seems like trying to be more serious instead. He seemed legit, real and unrestricted in the original, obvisously because it was the original and they didnt know what to expect. But in 2 tony is just not the same, and that part of why the original is so great.
I am 45 and i injured my back at 29 was able to get back training but not lifting heavy. As you grow older recuperation is a factor and i feel that this is where p90x3 comes in handy i did the same P90X and skipped yoga and lots of workout, i work in IT and when on a big project came home tired and slept a lot i did not have the time to commit 1h per day worst 90 minutes of yoga. I liked p90x3 and also T focus 25 for there intensity and results in short amount of time.
The likelihood of me "attempting" a P90X Yoga routine is less than me attempting P90X3. So imagine if I don't even "attempt" a workout, I get nothing in. This is why I feel the Yoga X3 routine is very good. However, P90X Yoga is the single greatest workout if you want to "move mountains" within the confines of your living room.
Will Shi LOL I hear you! I think they realized that people who have a life tend to get annoyed with having to spend a LARGE chunk of the day on that program. Ever since P90X Yoga, X2, P90X:1 on 1, and other Yoga renditions have been remarkably shorter :-)
I skip it and go for a run or do a different exercise. Hell, a game of tennis beats it. Yoga is for women, and the proof is the guy that kills it in the P90X3 video is so skinny, no muscle at all. Yeah, no thanks.
@@ventingshow4995 Well, several studies have shown that next to waist-to-height ratio (being slim), the best metric to gauge lifespan was flexibility, so, no, yoga is not just for women. If you think yoga is too easy, look for an old program by Rodney Yee. I believe it was called "Yoga for Strength Training". It involves a lot of intense work like gradually rolling up into a handstand, etc.
Hi Bob, With respect. Looks like you were more over weight in 2010 than in 2013. Plus in my opinion you look in better shape after the P90x than after P90x3. This is based on your waist line fat. You look in shape post work out in both photos just better in 2010. Proving in my opinion one thing. what you put in is what you get out. you can get reasonable fitness in 30mins a day. But to be fair. 30mins is simply not long enough to burn the calories needed.
111baba11 fair points, and to be completely transparent and honest, my diet was sketchy near the mid to end of P90X3. A few sugar snack cheats here and there, and a job that had me sitting on my butt 9-10 hours per day which means I definitely wasn't burning enough calories. Thanks so much for the comments, you definitely have good points for sure!
Just got my P90X3 Deluxe Package. I'm truly excited to use it. I'm just worried, looking at the videos, it seems like there is a lot of cardio. I already get my cardio in with the hikes I do 3 times a week to keep my dog from acting like a jacka$$. My hikes are long - 2-3 hours and I burn roughly 800 to 1000 calories on just one of them. I have lost pretty much all the weight I need to lose, now it's time to shift the body fat and muscle around. I've also been doing routines with BodyRocktv which are HIIT type routines on my off hiking days, which means I'm still getting cardio on all 5 days of the week. I thought doing P90X on the nights that I do the hikes would be a good combination. I just recently updated my diet plan to match, I think, all the calories I need to take in to build muscle. I also have a time crunch issue which is why I ordered X3. Did I have the right idea, or am I totally off base? I'm only doing the weighted workouts of P90X at this time - but ooof, an hour to an hour and a half! Yikes! Any suggestions?
+Samantha Cameron thanks for stopping by and yes your plan is on base and sound. The biggest keyword you mentioned in eating the right calories - eat right and eat enough to balance all of that cardio you are doing, otherwise the muscle building will continue to be a bit of a challenge. Eat right and you'll not only tone up but get rid of any "skinny fat" issues.
i saw this video in my feed thingy again so i decided to see what people are saying in the comment section, And I really suggest every one who has done p90x or is contemplating it, to instead do p90x3 it can be done in half the time and it will give you just as good results as p90x will, also p90x3 as alot more variety, over all its just better in ,my opinion also another benefit is that core training is built into the p90x3 routines , you use your core so much in the p90x3 workouts that there is no need to have to do an extra 15 minute ab routine after your main workout of the day.
p90x3 is good for someone whos not very active. Now if you want results do p90x&p90x2,p90x is a high class upper body workout only complaint is the legs workout my arms get tired out before my legs do holding a 40 pound dumbbells
DaffaDon TheGreaT definitely a legit way! In fact Sean from X2 and X3 is doing that type of hybrid right now and he is rocking it and looking even more athletic and defined.
Thanks for responding to my previous question and for sending me this comparative, which actually completely answers my question. I see the main difference is the time, which makes total sense. There is something else, though, which is the price. P90X is cheap on amazon, about $70, while P90X3 is $140 ... I have the summer off, so if I started the P90X now I would be done by mid September, right? Would you still recommend me getting the P90X and save 50%? Thanks again for your great channel/revies!
I've done P90X until P90X2 came out and now I've been doing that since. I am considering doing P90X3 but not sure if that would be enough for me. I love to cook/bake so I need to work out hard to stay in shape! What are your thoughts on this?
Pamela Criscitello great question! I would say that X3 would especially come in handy if there are days that you don't have time for the 45-90 minute workouts of X or X2. That way you still get a good workout in that aligns perfectly with the other two X's. I will say that the efficiency of P90X3 from my own experience is still definitely up there with the other two without a doubt. While you tend to burn less calories due to the timing, there is nothing wrong with doubling up for two 30 min workouts to really get the burn on :-)
I could see how time can be an issue, but I'm in work 13 and so far I have been able to allocate the time. I even have time for the gym to compliment my p90x routine. After I finish the official P90X, I want to double it up for a couple of weeks and maximize my results. So for example, I plan on combining all the DVDs that work my legs, the first part of Yoga plus legs and back one day, Kenpo X, plus Plyo one day, Core synergetics + Yoga belly and Ab ripper another etc.
DAVID Edwards that's awesome, and I agree with you about the time issue for most people. If you have the extra time to allocate, you can definitely take fitness to a whole new level! Keep rocking
i have both and im not going back to p90x either , if i feel i have more energy on certain day ill just repeat back to back of whatever program i do that day be it mmx or warrior but i only do 1 set of warm up and cool down, even with that its still faster than p90x but yeah i never did yoga either ... oops
Which will you recommend for sports (soccer), I am a working husband too, so time is a factor too. i did insanity but they were tough on my knees and it didn't really help my injured ankle (from soccer). Should I go for T25 or P90X3. Thanks in advance.
Augustine Ogbonnaya thinking about soccer and the endurance it requires, I'd actually recommend taking a look at INSANITY Max 30. This is basically like Insanity only 30 minutes per day and much better for targeting strength alongside of endurance. I am doing it now and must admit I am FLOORED by the results it's providing: sweetlifefitness.net/fitness-programs/insanity-max-30/
Hey Bob, I have completed Insanity and Insanity Max 30. I only have 5 lbs to go to reach my goal weight.. currently at 110. I have been alternating insanity and insanity max 30 and sometimes I feel kinda bored already lol. Now I am torn on whether to get Insanity asylum, p90x or p90x3. What would you recommend? I am a housewife and I love working out at home.. I want a whole new work out involving more weights.. something that won't bore me to death! Hope to hear from you soon
I did p90x about 10 years ago and lose 30lbs. However I've since got a trucker job and in not active much and now Have a family and its hard to cram 60 to 90 minutes a day. Im wondering if p90x3 is for me.
I have done both, but found p90x felt like it got better results. However, i had just had my first baby when i did p90x3 and may have just not been able to push as hard. I am now looking to get back into shape after baby number 2 - I am thinking if I can manage it after the kids are in bed every night then p90x is the one i want to do. Also... I LOVE the yoga - if you manage to get into the correct breath it really rejuvenates you.
Hi Bob, thanks for this comparison. I would like to have your thoughts on P90X3 as a muscle building program. I used to follow a modified p90x for muscle building which worked quite well, but do you think p90x3 could be used in a similar manner? Cheers
Did P90X and insanity back in the day. Then suffered a chronic pain issue. Fast forward 5 years and finally have my chronic pain mostly managed and I gained 70 of the 95 lbs I lost back. Started with Body Beast 1 month in, after that gonna do a 2nd round of body beast and then idk. P90x3 seems like a good one to try, otherwise back to P90X or insanity decisions decisions.
Hey thanks for the info on the different p90x programs I have p90x and p90x3 and am doing p90x and hate for thursday to come around and next week is recovery week yoga 2x hip hip hooray LOL after this round of p90x I may do the p90x3 as I usually start pooping out on the pushups and pullups on the second go around on chest & back, I eventually want to do p90x2 as well thanks again subscribed to you on youtube too
joe b thank you for stopping by! Keep me posted on your fitness journey (I definitely know what you mean regarding Yoga - it stinks but keep rocking it as it will pay off!).
I disagree with this assessment. This totally depends on your level of fitness. ALOT ALOT ALOT ALOT ALOT ALOT of people cannot do a pushup. (including myself at first) and pushups are required in all levels even starting from P90. Before you can do anything beach body, you need to get yourself to a certain BMI and pass a certain amount of exercise requirements. Otherwise, you cannot do any of the warmup stretches nor half the exercises. I have a 350 lbs friend and he can't do 85% of the DvD. He needs pure walking and dieting, If you're not too overweight and never worked out much, you start P90 and then graduate to P90X You need P90 first to get you used to a daily regiment. Then you do P90X which will turn you into a Monster. Then you goto P90X3 for maintenance. What isn't mentioned is that P90X is the more robust system as you can do a Lean version or a doubles version. Once you're really in shape. Then What this guy said about P90X3 is all true. But if you want to go to full ninja warrior status, there are DVDs called P90X Plus, and the exercises in there are bananas. Bottom line, if you are starting out, you start P90 NOT any of the X programs which stands for Xtreme. Also, side note, HIT (hi-intensity workouts) are although the most effective. I would NOT recommend anyone do the Saun T insanity Workouts if you're over 30 and out of shape. If you do insanity while you're in Highschool or College, you're gonna look amazing.
To be perfectly honest with you - P90X might be better in between both of these due to the added focus on weight training. Now, if you want the real legit muscle building program, Body Beast is what I use for that type of goal...works like a charm.
I love the p90x, it’s actually not even hard. The only thing is the plyometrics vid, I never do that one because it tears my knee up. I just go do a hour ruck instead 😂
i can only do 1 pull up and havent exercised for years. I have crap cardio too. i am 2 weeks in P90 and was wondering if I should do p90x3 for better results. I feel like I can survive 30minutes of that each day. I dont know if i can handle the diet plan since its really challenging for a pescatarian to eat that much protein. Ive done p90x for a week and almost hit my ratios but I never had time with work, working out, meeting food ratios by cookn time consuming meals.
Hey Bob so I'm definitely interested in doing p90x3 for the benefit of 30 minute workouts. I am trying to put on more weight and gain muscle. Would doing p 90 x 3 help me to do that, does the nutrition plan come with people like me in mind? thanks!
+Austin Ruzicka yes and yes! The key to building proper muscle and toning is to make sure you are eating properly (which in your case means eating in a calorie surplus, which you'd want to follow the X3 Mass Schedules for that goal).
Kaj I'd recommend P90X3 personally, and what I would do is follow the nutrition guide as it is set up to keep your calories at a decent level to burn down body fat and sculpt muscle versus getting into the skinny or skinny fat type of mode.
Mandalorian1310 I actually did do that during P90X a few times - Cardio X to be exact...but don't ever tell that to Tony...I met him in person and he is VERY passionate about his Yoga lol.
Question. I do not have a pull bar. Can't even do a proper pull up if I can it's 1-3 But I work out in my basement and a solid beam I use could I use that instead of a actual bar or should I invest in a proper bar. And if I do what kind if bar would you recommend other then the ones you hook up to a door frame because in my basement I don't have a door frame I can hook a bar up to
Hi, I really need your advice. I'm an eighteen year old girl who is very skinny and I want to look older by getting a bit of muscle. Would that work with any of these programs?
***** hey I'm a teenager around 13-14 years old, let me stop there. I'm 5'5-5'6 and weigh somewhere between 140-160 pounds, I'm trying to lose weight and try to get a six pack, I'm not necessarily out of shape but I need work. I have done military workout before but i stopped and now need tp gain ky emdurance back. And yes I have freetime. What do you recommend ?
LUISDAB3AST if you have the time and want to really rock it, go for P90X (the original). That way you can really dig into adding the resistance and longer focus on getting the abs (using the Ab Ripper X that comes with the program) on top of the extra resistance and cardio. Keep me posted and thanks for stopping by!
I may sale my p90x and get p90x3 original is so long and I hate yoga its soooooo long! I'm loving 21 day fix extreme 30 min workouts. but I'm on a second round of 21 day fix extreme p90x3 is sounding good
+Elizabeth Anderson go for p90x3 all the way i went through it once and not only is it funner the p90x which is superb for weight loss as well but in my opinion p90x3 is superior, better workouts, better variety, and every work out is literally 30 mins long including warm up and cool down. But they are not easy they kick your ass hard and the weight loss is great providing you put in the effort and eat well, so if you haven't already pick up p90x3 its far more do able then p90x which honestly is over training your body as a beginner.
hi bob.I really want to start onof those exrcises/but i dont know which one.(i already have p90x but never touchrd it except shoulders and arms)so i gotthe nutrition toobut my english isnt good so i dont understand how much calories to eat and which food to eat.and p90x3 looks harder (i cant do 1 pull up,and i can do up to 10 pull ups) i havea resistance ''rope'' and ihave a 5kilograms dumbails-weights. so for a end im a 15.5 year old kid who weights 175 pounds or less-87 kilograms and im 175 cantimiters high/and my goal is to have a nice body-muscles and stuff/and to loose fat and weight/i hope that you help me,i need it! thanks and keep the great job
Shay Gagula thanks for stopping by. Was the reason for not doing P90X due to the length? I can honestly say that was my problem and I could never find a way to stick with the program correctly. Doing something like P90X3 can help you work your way up without spending a lot of time if you have a busy schedule outside of fitness. I used the resistance bands to work my way up on pull ups and then consistently aim to push harder each day.
yes the time is the main factor. and Do you have someactive support groups for p90x3? thank u for the help u have a gr8 channel! Now i''ll try to understand the nuitrition guide...... :(
Shay Gagula yes indeed! We run a 30 day group and a larger open group too for everyone that team up with me. Feel free to check out the 30 day group, and you can decide what is best for you to start: teamsweetlifefitness.com/30-day-group/
+Lynda Kilfoyle yes you can modify - I think the challenging ones for jumping are Agility X and Triometrics, but if you ad-lib it a bit and take it slow you can absolutely modify.
+Aesthe TicPrawn (AestheticPrawn7) sure you can do that if you want - just be sure to eat the right amount of food (aka fuel) to power through X3 and get the results you are after. Contact me if you have questions
Is it possible that you can workout to it for the rest of your life until your body finally gives out? Because i'm gonna start after I finish Max 30 which I start Max 30 this weekend.
Certainly - the key is, as it gets easier for you, find wants to push harder. Go deeper in the burpees, push your running and jacks and all the other moves up a level.
Hi bob, I've had 4 c-sections in 6 years. I'm pretty fit and work out every day but can't seem to get rid of the 'kangaroo pouch'. What do you recommend?
Krissy Hofman hey thanks for stopping by! The real benefit out of P90X3 would be to help use the resistance training that uses your muscles to basically raise your metabolism up. Doing that along with following the nutrition plan will definitely get you into a great spot to say bye bye to that kangaroo pouch :-) If you want to save money and try them both out (full programs) on demand, check out the new offering that would save money so you can see what you like best: sweetlifefitness.net/fitness-programs/beachbody-on-demand/
Hey man, just wanted to say what a great video this is. I'm about to start my 10th round of p90x and had no idea that a 3rd version existed. Like everyone else I've struggled with the time commitment that X1 requires, but after so many years of doing it, I just kind of accepted it. My question for you is this: do they still include warm-up and cool down time during the workouts? What I loved so much about X1 was the element of care for the body that was included in the programme. It was the first regimen that seemed to take the need for stretching and warm-ups seriously. Like Tony says in the first series: stretching and flexibility leads to less injury. Thus, less time spent recovering and NOT working out. What do you think?
Brendan Mckenna great question and definitely an important question. There is a divided warm-up that isn't part of the 30 mins of P90X (about 10 mins long if I remember correctly). It's called the "Cold Start" and it really takes good care of the body in warming it up properly. The cool down is integrated into the 30 mins and I found it to be decently effective in the stretching and necessary cool down efforts that are important. I would recommend foam rolling or additional stretching on the hamstrings and calf muscles if they are tight (Mine are and I always need extra focus on those areas). I hope that helps!
No Bob, the cooldown starts when the 30min is done :) X and X3 can't really be compared and I don't think Tony made X3 as an easier X. He still recomends people to do X if they have the time for it. I've done both and X is alot harder to get through than X3. That said i prefer the shorter workouts of X3, it's alot easier to fit in to a busy schedule. Now i'm doing the doubles hybrid, T25 in the morning and X3 in the afternoon. Works pretty good, you really wake up after a session with Shaun lol. Love your videos and all the tips you give for the people.
I don't do either. Personally, I prefer Freeletics. I don't like the nutritional recommendations from either because I'm a vegan but I like the freedom of Freeletics better. No equipment to buy except for a mat. No weights, no problem. Bodyweights are the way to go because you can't make excuses ever.
Rigo.H thanks for stopping by. Yes both P90X and P90X3 can work for weight loss. The real key is to dial in on their nutrition guides and do the best you can each day of the program. As far as preference is concerned, if you are worried that 60-90 minutes per day is going to be a bit much to commit to, consider X3.
Thanks alot for information I've finished insanity workout and now I'm doing insanity max 30 and after that I want to start insanity asylum so .. what's your opinion ? Should I do insanity asylum after finishing insanity max 30 or p90x3 ? help me plz and you also guys .. :-) By the way tell me your opinion about insanity asylum cause i love all shaun T's programs ..
Gegy mory Asylum is the real deal! It would definitely be a great progression from Max 30 as long as you are cool with the time commitment (some workouts 45-65 minutes per day). It takes the fitness to a whole new level!
+TheMorfin2011 absolutely! Weight lifting and using resistance training can help you significantly with losing weight, toning up, and more. Just be cautious of P90X3 Agility and Triometrics as there is some jumping, but you can certainly modify it
@@lazydaze3134 actually no I didn't. My friend is physical therapist told me the same thing. I skipped p90x3. I did body beast and then switch to les mills on demand for the spin classes. Then moved PIYO. It's been great.
+King Stealyobitch it can help you with muscle mass yes, now if you want to get ripped just make sure you balance the muscle mass with the low body fat percentage (6-8% BF) - achieved all through a great nutrition plan.
Hey i messed up my eating habit (ate much less) during p90x3 after i did p90x and during p90x i lost 24 pounds, 200-176. But im 180 again and due to me eating less and i have not been pooping much. The doc said I am constipated so im fixing that. My question was imma start p90x3 again with ofc better eating style, but i cant do shakeology cause of budget so is that still okay? also i struggle with X3 ab ripper for moves like dolphin hops so for days i do ab ripper can i add p90 ab ripper instead. I feel burn in both but in p90 i ca do more. Thanks!
Ali Jafri no worries dude - I had the same issue where I got too skinny back in 2012 during P90X2 - not cool! What I recommend is load up heavily on Vegetables and Fruit (high fiber) to fill all carbs during the nutrition plan focus. As you do that, you'll also benefit from the added energy which can definitely help you build up your abs strength. X3 ab ripper is NO joke, so continue to do the best you can and as you feel like it's getting even a SECOND easier, push a bit harder.
oh so we similar in a way aha. Alright ye usually my mom just makes me a plate of dry vegies and fruits she makes me like mixed. Last thing sorry, i cant get shakeology so im using my dads old Bio x protien shake which is also a meal replacement. is that fine?
great video. now, do you think it's plausible to gain muscle and actually have definition with P90X3 ? I'm not looking to just lose weight, I want muscle and to tone my body.
08aventura hey thanks for stopping by! Yes most definitely this is something that can help with the right focus. For example, for proper focus would be to eat enough to build up the muscle and then also following something like the Mass Schedule that comes with the program. Feel free to check out this video too for some more tips: ua-cam.com/video/AJzBPZZB-uw/v-deo.html
Im 5'10 , 167 lbs , i want to get a nice 6 pack abs then muscles. I was wonderin should i get p90x3 first then do body beast or do them at the same time ?
adam fox good question - what is your current body fat percentage (look it up online/estimate if needed). The key behind that is if you have some body fat to shred down, aim to do P90X3 first, and get down to your desired BF %. For abs to show nicely 10% body fat is the key to focus on. Funny enough sometimes when people start dropping the fat and their muscles tone up, it almost looks like they build muscle when it fact it is just the body fat reduction that helped chisel what was already there. But in any case, afterwards you can then use Beast to bulk up and keep a fair balance for the ripped physique.
Does p90x 3 give you any rest break in between workouts like the original or is it like t-25 where you workout all the way through. 30 minutes straight is alot
adel mohammed yes p90x3 is easier then p90x still hard but a much better beginning program and you can always swap out the schedule if you want more mass
Hey Coach, I've finished my T25 last month and even though I was very happy with the results, I'm still looking to get more muscles and get a complete ripped body. I've looked at the body beast workout but cant afford equipment so I was looking at P90x3 and looks great for my purpose. Do you think is a good idea to get it to continue growing muscles and getting ripped? If so what should I eat to do it in a great way? Thanks so much!
Esteban Gutierrez great to hear from you! I would definitely work on the muscle - I went through that myself and muscle does so many great things for the body - it makes us feel great, it helps you look good, and it helps in aiding faster body fat loss. For P90X3, I'd follow the mass schedule and definitely focus on hitting the nutrition they have provided, check it out here: sweetlifefitness.net/p90x3-nutrition-guide/
Gloria Velez I'm glad you stopped by! Feel free to touch base and we can chat and get you rocking and rolling. Insanity Month 2 is definitely NO joke...so I hear you! sweetlifefitness.net/contact/
Huerta Moreno the X3 ab ripper is in the elite block DVDs. P90X includes the ab ripper. Now you can get both the elite block, along with P90X3 & P90X with the new on Demand feature which is insanely inexpensive if you want; however if you are looking for the DVDs you have to buy the elite block separately for the P90X3 ab ripper. Here is the on demand feature I'm talking about: sweetlifefitness.net/fitness-programs/beachbody-on-demand/
Thanks but what i want to know is on the 30 min workout does it include ab exercises? I have p90x and its not only 45 min because some of them include the ab ripper for 15 min So i want to know on the p90x3 they say its only 30 min but does it have ab ripper afterwards as well?
Huerta Moreno No it does not - the only abs workout is on the elite block (Ab Ripper X3). There is Pilates X, which rips the crap out of your core (I was NOT expecting that lol), but that is a full 30 min workout put into the regular schedule.
Next week is my last week of T25, I've lost a lot of weight and feel great. I'm thinking about doing Insanity in the morning (I've done one month before so I know what to expect in terms of intensity) and I was thinking about doing P90x in the evening for strength. The idea of a half hour with the P90x3 definitely appeals to me, but I'm concerned with some of the comments I'm hearing that it involves less resistance training and more cardio than the original P90x, but I'm not totally sure. I'd like to get the most strength training I can, but are they comparable or is P90x much better than x3 for this? The shorter workout would definitely be much more convenient but I do have the time for the longer workouts.. any suggestions? Thanks!
Hey Bob, i really need your help. I want to get lean and really fit over the summer. I am only about 8-10 pounds over weight so i don't need to lose alot, is P90X right for me, i got time to do the 1 hour or so workout.
***** Im looking to trim down some fat and gain muscle, but mostly gain muscle and cardio is fine. i was gonna just run around my neighborhood if p90x didnt do any good cardio.
Yes indeed...shoulders and arms is one of my absolute favorites...especially with heavier weights. Feel free to join in with us: sweetlifefitness.net/join-sweet-life-free/
Hey Bob!
Also, there is more lifting so better definition comes when finished. ;)
Thanks for the input and stopping by!
P90X trains your body, but also trains your mind, that's why Yoga X it's the best challenge to everyone, because involves a lot of willing power an discipline to make it.
Yoga is the bread and butter without it you’re hurting yourself.
@@calebholle7685 that's right
If you use the P90X app it cuts 30 minutes off the length of the workouts. Most of the P90X video duration is Tony talking.
Good suggestion, the app is definitely a great option too!
Taly Cho that was my problem with p90x3. I’d get winded and end up having to lower my weights to keep pace and I didn’t like that at all.
Where’s the app at?
Thank you
I just wrote down all the exercises and then stopped watching the dvd's so once you know what techniques to use you don't need the dvd
Agreed 100%! I’ve done both and the time expense of P90X can be difficult.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it. I love p90x
My only gripe with P90X is that they never released a blur ray version in today's widescreen.
So either you watch it with black bars on the side, or stretched.
@Kingsley Manuel stfu quit promoting scams
I own both programs and I have to say, I totally agree with you.
This was awesome, quick, thorough and all I can say is thank you a good video
Both are the best programs. I agree with Coach Bob, P90X3 gets the same results in half the time. I lost 30 lbs on classic in 2010, and lost 30 lbs with X3 just this year. I say the shorter is best because you save time and the workouts are over quick!
I do the original P90X with the exception of Yoga. For Yoga, I swapped the original P90X version to the P90X3 version.
Do you think 90x is more complete or why over 90x3?
@@DJLOUIE1000 I feel like x3 gets your upper body (for men) to 80% of where p90x can take you.
Meaning close, but not exactly the same. But you can also add your own extra work in, since the x3 is only 30 minutes.
...uuuugh, yoga. The bane of my P90x experience, as well.
+MrBlasko29 insane right?
am I the only person who completely skipped the yoga, karate and cardio cd's? haha
GrowingDownUnder I’d replace yoga with the x stretch back in the day 😅
@@iAmMisterBing No replacement. Yoga X has very little to do with stretching. It's a full body workout.
@@jadrickmorrison126 I know what it is. I’m saying when I started, that’s what I did. Because the yoga was too hard for me at the time
Eh, tony isnt the same in p90x 2 or 3, seems like trying to be more serious instead. He seemed legit, real and unrestricted in the original, obvisously because it was the original and they didnt know what to expect. But in 2 tony is just not the same, and that part of why the original is so great.
almost thought u were talkin about iron man for a second. gotta read slower.
However, P90X Yoga is the single greatest workout if you want to "move mountains" within the confines of your living room.
spaceydecember I definitely agree with the "move mountains" comment for sure! Thanks for stopping by!
2:17 ... "This is the day of Yoga" That is my face every single Thursday... ~___~
@@AMortalDefiant I'll be dead by 70, I'm not too worried about it.
Hi Bob,
With respect.
The scariest moment for me was the popup of McDonalds advertisement at he beginning of the video.
+Tarattabill WOW I can't believe they advertised that is scary!
i like to get the McGriddle meal every saturday !
AdBlock. Haven't seen an ad in years.
I completely agree, p90x was too long. I"m loving the p90x3 schedule!
BIGISLANDBOY99 awesome - keep rocking it!
The yoga was awesome. After a month of it every other activity i did almost doubled in progress
i saw this video in my feed thingy again so i decided to see what people are saying in the comment section, And I really suggest every one who has done p90x or is contemplating it, to instead do p90x3 it can be done in half the time and it will give you just as good results as p90x will, also p90x3 as alot more variety, over all its just better in ,my opinion also another benefit is that core training is built into the p90x3 routines , you use your core so much in the p90x3 workouts that there is no need to have to do an extra 15 minute ab routine after your main workout of the day.
Great points and well said!
p90x3 is good for someone whos not very active. Now if you want results do p90x&p90x2,p90x is a high class upper body workout only complaint is the legs workout my arms get tired out before my legs do holding a 40 pound dumbbells
DaffaDon TheGreaT definitely a legit way! In fact Sean from X2 and X3 is doing that type of hybrid right now and he is rocking it and looking even more athletic and defined.
good cause im not happy with my legs yet.ill be doing p90x2 in 3 weeks.Hoping ill get bigger legs in x2 or my leg day will be gym day.
P90X3 is a great for building consistency and becoming familiar with the exercises but, P90X is where the true results occur.
week 6 of p90x3 lost 7 pounds of fat and gained 1.7 pounds of muscle
+Epic Boss BOOM! Well done!
thank you so much. I was thinking which one of them i should go with. After watching your video i made my choice!
Keep me posted on your progress!
Thanks for sharing, very helpful.
Isn't x3 just like p90x but with shorter warm ups and cool downs, shorter breaks?
I've done P90X until P90X2 came out and now I've been doing that since. I am considering doing P90X3 but not sure if that would be enough for me. I love to cook/bake so I need to work out hard to stay in shape! What are your thoughts on this?
Pamela Criscitello great question! I would say that X3 would especially come in handy if there are days that you don't have time for the 45-90 minute workouts of X or X2. That way you still get a good workout in that aligns perfectly with the other two X's. I will say that the efficiency of P90X3 from my own experience is still definitely up there with the other two without a doubt. While you tend to burn less calories due to the timing, there is nothing wrong with doubling up for two 30 min workouts to really get the burn on :-)
You can always do the P90X3 Doubles Schedule. It's 2 workouts targeting different parts of your body and it's still an hour like P90X.
WEEK 13 not work 13 lol
I've done both...p90x is better by far...p90x3 is cardio crap
Yeah but since it's only 30mim wouldn't you simply do some lifting before or after?
i have both and im not going back to p90x either , if i feel i have more energy on certain day ill just repeat back to back of whatever program i do that day be it mmx or warrior but i only do 1 set of warm up and cool down, even with that its still faster than p90x but yeah i never did yoga either ... oops
+The GomGomBoy - Thai Console Gamer (Thai Console Gamer) I hate Dynamix, so I've replaced it with 30 minutes of running instead.
I ended up getting the T-25 and its working out good. Thanks

YES! Thankyou!
You're welcome!
P90x3 comes with an ab ripper just like p90x but when should do the ab ripper for p90x3
DGMC68 I recommend on all of the resistance days (3 times per week, normally on days you don't have Triometrics/MMX/etc)
Great points, thanks for sharing!
good advice, cheers
Thanks for stopping by!
Thanks, I needed to know this
Drexel Gregory you’re welcome! Glad it helped
He needs pure walking and dieting,
If you're not too overweight and never worked out much, you start P90 and then graduate to P90X
You need P90 first to get you used to a daily regiment.
Hey bro, I'm not sure if you said this or not but which program is better for muscle tone? Like too make you look like you've been working out. Thanks
To be perfectly honest with you - P90X might be better in between both of these due to the added focus on weight training. Now, if you want the real legit muscle building program, Body Beast is what I use for that type of goal...works like a charm.
Thanks for the review.
Hey Bob, i want to buy one of these two workout. So just one quick question, Which one is better to loose weight and for a beginner? Thanks
+Luis Balbuena P90X3. The workouts are 30 minutes each instead of 1 1/2 hours with P90X original.
I really don't want to lose weight cause i'm skinny is it better for me to do p90x and skip the cardio or can i just do the same with p90x3?
Kaj I'd recommend P90X3 personally, and what I would do is follow the nutrition guide as it is set up to keep your calories at a decent level to burn down body fat and sculpt muscle versus getting into the skinny or skinny fat type of mode.
You skip yoga? Why don't you do one of the other exercises instead? Simple!
Mandalorian1310 I actually did do that during P90X a few times - Cardio X to be exact...but don't ever tell that to Tony...I met him in person and he is VERY passionate about his Yoga lol.
Bob Sharpe do you recommend me to do cardio x instead also? I can't stand the yoga honestly. Did you still see the results you wanted?
Question. I do not have a pull bar. Can't even do a proper pull up if I can it's 1-3
But I work out in my basement and a solid beam I use could I use that instead of a actual bar or should I invest in a proper bar. And if I do what kind if bar would you recommend other then the ones you hook up to a door frame because in my basement I don't have a door frame I can hook a bar up to
I just stated p90x3 and the 1st day was so easy in comparison to p90x. Does it get harder?
+Elizabeth Anderson Agreed with Elessar below - P90X3 is definitely the way to go, as I mentioned in the video
hi bob.I really want to start onof those exrcises/but i dont know which one.(i already have p90x but never touchrd it except shoulders and arms)so i gotthe nutrition toobut my english isnt good so i dont understand how much calories to eat and which food to eat.and p90x3 looks harder (i cant do 1 pull up,and i can do up to 10 pull ups) i havea resistance ''rope'' and ihave a 5kilograms dumbails-weights.
so for a end im a 15.5 year old kid who weights 175 pounds or less-87 kilograms and im 175 cantimiters high/and my goal is to have a nice body-muscles and stuff/and to loose fat and weight/i hope that you help me,i need it!
thanks and keep the great job
If you are older or have some limitations on jumping etc is this a program that allows for modifications for that?
+Lynda Kilfoyle yes you can modify - I think the challenging ones for jumping are Agility X and Triometrics, but if you ad-lib it a bit and take it slow you can absolutely modify.
Is it ok to do two p90x3 lessons a day?
Doing that along with following the nutrition plan will definitely get you into a great spot to say bye bye to that kangaroo pouch :-)
If you want to save money and try them both out (full programs) on demand, check out the new offering that would save money so you can see what you like best: sweetlifefitness.net/fitness-programs/beachbody-on-demand/
sounds like you have diastasis, separation of the ab muscles, working out will maybe only help this a little bit but not fix the problem
What are anyone’s thoughts on P90X one on one?
Can I use weights instead of a pull up bar? Or do I definitely NEED a pull up bar?
You can absolutely use weights!
***** sounds good - I haven't tried freeletics yet so I am not too familiar with that one, but will check it out. Thanks for stopping by and sharing!
hi im starting p90x3 next week I just want to ask does p90x3 work for weight loss because I weigh 220 and I am 17 and I really want to lose weight
Thanks for responding haha thank you for the advice
Is it ok to use Kettlebells?
Thanks alot for information
I've finished insanity workout and now I'm doing insanity max 30 and after that I want to start insanity asylum so .. what's your opinion ?
Should I do insanity asylum after finishing insanity max 30 or p90x3 ?
help me plz and you also guys .. :-)
By the way tell me your opinion about insanity asylum cause i love all shaun T's programs ..
Gegy mory Asylum is the real deal! It would definitely be a great progression from Max 30 as long as you are cool with the time commitment (some workouts 45-65 minutes per day). It takes the fitness to a whole new level!
***** Thanks alot for your reply :-)
how about p90x3 then body beast for a girl? i cant do insanity because of my knees
+TheMorfin2011 absolutely! Weight lifting and using resistance training can help you significantly with losing weight, toning up, and more. Just be cautious of P90X3 Agility and Triometrics as there is some jumping, but you can certainly modify it
***** got it. Thank you for replying!
@@lazydaze3134 actually no I didn't. My friend is physical therapist told me the same thing. I skipped p90x3. I did body beast and then switch to les mills on demand for the spin classes. Then moved PIYO. It's been great.
I've done insanity & t25, do you think it will be a good idea to take it to p90x2?
just mix both and its the best way....
How does P90X3 compare with Rushfit?
+zoronqueen to be honest I haven't done Rushfit, so I can't give a fair comparison on that one.
Bob can you help me?
Also I've got a question, is p90x supposed to get you more muscular mass, cause I'm looking towards getting more "ripped", if you know what I mean
+King Stealyobitch it can help you with muscle mass yes, now if you want to get ripped just make sure you balance the muscle mass with the low body fat percentage (6-8% BF) - achieved all through a great nutrition plan.
+Bob Sharpe alright bro I appreciate it,thanks.
***** I actually use this vegetarian cookbook as a my meal plan, but tend not to eat to a strict schedule
great video. now, do you think it's plausible to gain muscle and actually have definition with P90X3 ?
Yes
Jeremy Baker yeah you get breaks
I want to know I didn’t do p90x before so can I jump on the p90x3 just asking and i want you answers please ? Thanks
adel mohammed yes p90x3 is easier then p90x still hard but a much better beginning program and you can always swap out the schedule if you want more mass
Cole Stoller thanks I ordere it for quarantining 😅
Just condense your original P90X workouts into 30 minutes until you can afford P90X3.... lol!
+John Park LOL
Hey Coach,
I've finished my T25 last month and even though I was very happy with the results, I'm still looking to get more muscles and get a complete ripped body.
I'm struggling with month 2 of Insanity... I know this is off-topic, but I needed to put it out there :(
Gloria Velez I'm glad you stopped by! Feel free to touch base and we can chat and get you rocking and rolling. Insanity Month 2 is definitely NO joke...so I hear you! sweetlifefitness.net/contact/
Me too ...but it will get better eventually
Don't follow it to a t adjust it to your schedule
dont kno why he say o90x3 instead of just 3 its still p90 no reason to say the full name
Are you Ben Burnley?
+uknowwho613 how did you guess???
I can’t decide between Crossfit, P90x, or P90x 3
20 minutes per day is enough to be in a good shape
Absolutely
Does the p90x 3 have ab ripper
Or is it just the 30 mins workout
Huerta Moreno the X3 ab ripper is in the elite block DVDs. P90X includes the ab ripper. Now you can get both the elite block, along with P90X3 & P90X with the new on Demand feature which is insanely inexpensive if you want; however if you are looking for the DVDs you have to buy the elite block separately for the P90X3 ab ripper. Here is the on demand feature I'm talking about: sweetlifefitness.net/fitness-programs/beachbody-on-demand/
Thanks but what i want to know is on the 30 min workout does it include ab exercises? I have p90x and its not only 45 min because some of them include the ab ripper for 15 min
So i want to know on the p90x3 they say its only 30 min but does it have ab ripper afterwards as well?
Huerta Moreno No it does not - the only abs workout is on the elite block (Ab Ripper X3). There is Pilates X, which rips the crap out of your core (I was NOT expecting that lol), but that is a full 30 min workout put into the regular schedule.
+Huerta Moreno Running and biking is also great for abs, and combined with ab ripper gives great results.
Thanks!
If you don’t have time for 60-90 minutes... you may need to rethink your life and choices
That’s me, yoga day. Mmm skip. Lol
Hey Bob, i really need your help. I want to get lean and really fit over the summer. I am only about 8-10 pounds over weight so i don't need to lose alot, is P90X right for me, i got time to do the 1 hour or so workout.
PureBeats are you just looking to trim down some body fat? Would some cardio be cool with you?
***** Im looking to trim down some fat and gain muscle, but mostly gain muscle and cardio is fine. i was gonna just run around my neighborhood if p90x didnt do any good cardio.
PureBeats running is always good, but regardless you'll get some great cardio moves in both X and X3. P90X especially with the Kenpo and Plyometrics!
is it still good to build muscle?
Yes indeed...shoulders and arms is one of my absolute favorites...especially with heavier weights.

I'm so sorry you're wife chose another man. Smh 😥
