AN INSPIRATIONAL armless athlete has found her ‘purpose’ and confidence after riding motorbikes as a form of therapy. Nadia Lauricella, 26, from Sicily, has phocomelia syndrome. The rare condition causes malformations of the limbs, resulting in the absence or extreme shortening of bones at birth. Nadia was born without arms, missing part of her leg, and with a curved spine. She was “never bullied at school” but did encounter prejudice from strangers. However, Nadia was determined not to let her condition stop her from living her life to the fullest. She discovered the benefits of motorbike therapy for disabled people after watching a UA-cam video showing riders with a range of abilities - and she has confidence now, despite the odds being stacked against her.

What a beautiful soul. I met someone in college who had no arms and used his feet for everything. If I had a rough day, he would always inspire me. Other than my lovely mentally disabled friends, my autistic friend blessed my life immensely.

One of the mom’s in our playgroup didn’t have arms. She could change her baby’s poopy diaper faster with her feet than I did with hands! I agree, I also felt inspired by her. Always amazed me.

No one would dare bully her without getting drawn and quartered in front of their family...

I didn't even know what bullying was until I moved to the USA at age 25. Kids are very affectionate to people that different where I'm from.

I come here for a Reality check ...when I`m down or depressed I just have to look at these people who are so so Positive about their disabilities and manage them!....I always end up cutting Onions!!

I really admire this lady. All of the No’s became yes’s. It takes a lot of courage and motivation to push through obstacles of any kind.
I'm just so happy she was never bullied. That warms my heart for humanity.

Brave is a understatement for this woman. She has the spirit and strenght to live her life to the fullest. Her on the motorcycle is unbelievable... So much respect for her.

Lol even with my autocorrect on, it still didnt makeout half the words in my sentence I tried typing out lol. And you're totally right, it does hurt your eyes a lot having your phone that close to your face!

Iam amaze with the fact, she never get bullied through out her life. I had live in Italy before, they are very affectionate people and caring.
It depends on where you go, but It's considered a shame bullying someone because of their body. I know some people with disability where I live and they are nice and good people no one would put them down. If someone tried to bully them, other people would stop them and bully the person who tried to insult the person. I live in Italy, by the way

Every human is determemt to prove others wrong or simply live the way he wants. I don't think that has anything to do with nationality. But you could say that southern countries are more temperament in general but i don't think that effects on will (it's a character not will)

Its weird how in society we have people like her who have a disability but have the will to live and enjoy the little things in life. Yet we have people who are perfectly healthy and have no disabilities that commit suicide daily, she is an inspiration for sure.
That is bcoz normal healthy ppl once they have something bad happen in their lives they cannot cope but ppl like this woman was born like this so she's more used to it
skippy I feel like it’s because people who struggle learn early to appreciate more. I know people who didn’t appreciate life and had a bad attitude until something bad happens to them or their lives somehow threatened by a major event like a car accident where they nearly died and suddenly they open their eyes. You see that a lot.

I literally had to hold back the tears watching this video. Not tears because I feel sorry for this beautiful lady - because she seems fiercely independent and capable, even with what some may see as a handicap. But out of a sort of shame at myself, for ever complaining about things that as an able bodied person, I have no right to complain about, but always seem to anyway. Wether one accepts/believes in God or not won't change His existence. God is not affected by human opinion. I was blasphemer and didn't believed till i encounter spiritual (not by my will) and was i surprised! From then on I'm sticking with God, He answered my prayers and contines to show me how much he loves me. I say seek Jesus and you'll see for yourself, just know that He is only way to salvation
