- The Volvo P1800 - the car made famous by the 1960's TV series The Saint - is now electric!
What's the spec? Manual gearbox for a fun, engaged drive and a Hyper9 motor that easily beats the original engine specs.
How does it drive? Much better! Driving it through the gearbox keeps it jauntily in the 1960's but now with the performance it never had before so you can join and beat modern traffic comfortably...
Join us on some test drives from Oxford to our Bicester Heritage unit and get a sneak peek of another iconic classic car that has been future-proofed the Electrogenic way....

Great video, this was great to see. Thanks!
Thanks! We enjoyed making it! Another video with a new car is coming very soon...hope you enjoy that one too!
So the fact its a manual. Can you still stall it?
No, you can't stall it!
The cherry on top of the cream would be to compare in the vid the ev converted car with the same well kept engine car. But nice job anyway
Thanks! Great idea - we'd love to compare - anyone want to bring us one?
😂I know, it's not so easy
On paper the specs seem similar the ice Volvo makes between 100 to 135 hp and the torque is almost 1:1.
The EV 1800 has much more torque 120hp and 235 Nm. But the batteries add 280-300kg 640-660 lbs. My money would be on the EV.
