I have to be honest, I used to consider Northlane one of my favorite bands, I still have one of their sweatshirts. After Adrian left I pretty much lost interest overnight. I know it's not fair to the entire band, especially Nic who's one of my favorite drummers. I guess a part of me was sad knowing that one of my favorite bands just wasn't going to be the same anymore. So I haven't listened to anything with Marcus as the vocalist. I gave this song a listen knowing it was "Adrian's" and holy shit. I'm embarrassed I let myself go this long without giving Marcus a chance. Not only is he an amazing vocalist, you can tell how much energy he puts into his live shows. I'm sorry guys. I was wrong. Northlane will always have a special place in my heart ❤

Everyone who cries about adrian leaving and attacking marcus don't respect the band/adrian at all. They also don't want Adrian they want old northane. Marcus is a singer who can scream, Adrian is a screamer who had to sing. Northlane adapted with marcus and they melded wonderfully. To add also, Adrian left because his voice was killing him. Northlane didnt kick him out or choose marcus over him. Adrian left, took a toll on northlane and marcus helped them out. I am just so sick of people in the comments. I know it isnt the majority which i am very thankful for.
that's BS, Adrian did not leave because he had issues with his voice. He used to scream using the technique similar to what Sam Carter does. While Marcus uses fry screaming. You can hear his "screams" are even less loud than his normal clean singing... Those are 2 different techniques but I do prefer the one Adrian did

I thought he left for other reasons because since he left, he lived a pretty normal life and went to the university etc - it all looked just like he decided to leave music at all. Also, I didn’t see any of their live videos with any signs of voice issues. Anyways. I do believe that the technique Adrian used, was not really super dangerous - as it’s the “yelling” slash fry shouts technique a lot of other people do, from Architects to Knocked loose. As a metal vocalist myself, I can assure you this technique is safe if done properly. Check “Chris Liepe - Sam Carter” video here on UA-cam. Now, to Marcus. He only does fry screaming which is completely based on his false cords, not vocal cords. And while this technique, on his own, is a bit more “fake” than the yelling/fry shouts, Marcus on his own is a bit weak at screaming in general. His cleans are great though. But for good examples of fry screaming, I’d recommend checking Jens from Meshuggah or Devin Townsend - these 2 guys have way more powerful and thick and solid fry screams, unlike Mercus “creaking” sounds
I always come back to see if they’ve captured any of their old selves, so disappointing that Marcus never figures out how to do low vocals effectively. Takes away so much of the impact of the older songs. At least invent animate didnt shit the bed with their new vocalist

Marcus just keeps getting better. He's singing live shows with album vocals.
He sounds exactly as disappointing as the last time I heard them play this live, absolutely no low vocals at all, just the same monotonous mids
