All I can picture are Ed and Os suddenly appearing on the beach in Hawaiian shirts and holding flamboyant cocktails, and Os just looks at Ed and goes "Oh dear God no." *snaps fingers, city appears* Os: "Oh this is so much better Ed."
As a person who doesn't have DID, I just want to thank the system for these videos. I have been watching for a long time and I feel like I have a much better understanding of DID as a whole. Thank you all for sharing your lives and keep on sharing in the future.
The whole incident with System pride must have been especially difficult because it was on your birthday too. You were very mature and respectful in your apology video, I honestly think you responded very well to what happened. You clearly didn't intentionally hurt anyone and you were quick to apologize and take steps towards making amends for your mistake.

Hi Wyn, I'm so thankful for your videos!! My best friend is a 23-year old female with diagnosed DID, and her system is extremely complex, with at least 45 alters, one of whom has his own system (so she has a subsystem and makes about 100 alters total) and they are my family at this point. This is so validating for me, too, because I'm having symptoms myself. I love learning about you and your system. ❤️ You're tough, and so are they.
I didn't realize alters could integrate with other alters that aren't the host/core. Are they more Karen than Josh and is that why we are still calling her Karen? I'd like more clarification on that part. I'm glad she's doing well though, and I love her new hair. Great video, thanks for sharing!
Insane Sanity you should read the book switching time. In the end it explains how integrating multiple alters are decided within the system. The book was recommended you Wyn’s therapist. She hasn’t been able to read the part on integration yet (her therapist recommended that particular section of the book to help her understand integration more).. I think she mentioned it was triggering to her system so she put it away. It’s such a great book!
Should definitely look up Jeremy: An Alternate Perspective. They really go into Integration. ua-cam.com/video/xhfisCrWC4Y/v-deo.html From everything I've learnt, imagine you are an orange that gets split into sections. The "core" is not more or less than an alter as well. Everyone is equal in terms of being pieces of the whole. Alters can choose to integrate into other alters other than the "core" - Evan and Risk in Jeremy's system were extremely close and when Risk couldn't handle it anymore he integrated with Evan and now Evan holds a combination of himself and Risk. Mistletoe integrated with Wyn and I always wondered if that's because she wanted Wyn to feel what Mistletoe was feeling...
I'd definitely check our Jeremy:An Alternative perspective, they have videos on when Risk and Evan integrated, post-integrated Evan made a video about the aftermath of integrating and what it feels like etc.

You can have a 100 positive comments and 1 negative, and the negative is the one we remember. And I am so sorry that it affected the system in such a hard way, it must be so draining. I hope Ed is right though, that it will be better for you to not be “isolated” as he calls it, but as I have grown to understand DID more, isolation seems like a coping mechanism to take care of a system, to make you feel safe. I am glad you have access though. It seems like Ed has taken a role of a main protector kind of? Since he completely erased the island (I hope you find a way to visit it), it seems like he just turned Jonathans work in the inner world around. oh wow you guys ... that is so, so much. i found myself saying "oh, honey" at everything u said, im just ... wow. feeling for you all, and sending all my love to all of you. (and big warm internet-hugs to any of u who want them!) idk ive been feeling overwhelmed a lot lately in my own life and i can't even imagine how much all this must be rocking u all to the core (pun not intended - as far as i remember u dont identify with the term "core" anyway so that should have been obvious but thought i'd clarify in case that seemed flippant or like a joke, which it was not) im glad to hear Dr Mann has some more awareness of ur situation. i was hoping that would be the case when i saw u had an update. i hope her process of coming to terms with things goes smoothly, and if/when she feels ready to accept well-wishes from strangers, mine are included. it sounds like ur doing a wonderful job of taking care of urselves and each other, which i think u should be very proud of. i truly hear u when u say the balance has been totally knocked off by all this stress, understandably so, and i don't mean to undermine that when i say it seems to me that ur coping so so well. which is the important thing at the end of the day. life isn't smooth sailing all the time and the ability to keep things going when that boat gets rocked is so powerful and important and i think it's admirable. of course... i guess that's what DID is all about really. anyways sorry for the essay my empathy is in overdrive and i am not in a position to support u practically (being a faceless internet stranger!) but i hope my words bring comfort. while i don't have DID i am part of a broader community, being a survivor of trauma with a traumatogenic disorder, and i consider ur system to be a hugely important and valuable force in this community. u help so many people myself included and i feel ...angry, i guess... disappointed and hurt perhaps moreso... that ur contribution to this community has been met with undeserved and hateful backlash from a select few. i imagine they are acting from a place of hurt, and i wish them healing. while calling people out for wrongdoing is valid and necessary, i believe we need to recognize when its unintentional and accept apologies for any harm done. u guys took responsibility for your mistake with much grace and anyone should be able to recognize ur commited to helping, not harming. im still writing an essay. i'll really stop now. sending so much love. take care, and thank u for existing 💙
Yeah, what are Jonathan and Jacob’s roles now? Did Ed and Oz completely take over or just in one aspect? And if they did completely take over how are Jonathan and Jacob taking it? Hoping that you and the system find that balance you’re looking for and will keep you guys (especially Kit) in my thoughts about Josh’s integration!

So many changes for you! I'm so sorry that all that mess around your birthday has caused you so much trauma. I saw it sort of at the end, and I know how hard it is to take harsh comments, especially if you didn't mean to upset anyone. I'm really glad that Josh felt light enough that he could let go of needing to be around. Overall, even though it's been a lot of scary changes, this seems to still be moving in a healthier direction. Unhappy things and scary things being mixed in with really big leaps forward. That sounds like your system had to undergo an update because of a virus (the hate comments) which resulted in scary changes like a new user interface, but also brought new features (new alters) and exciting improvements like Josh merging, or your ability to spawn in the headspace and control your avatar there. The mentioning of the term npc just opened a whole box up of new ways to think about it in my head. It's fascinating, inspiring and gives me hope to see, that something shit as a wave of hatred and a whole bunch of chances still managed to create some good things. I hope your system sees the positive in it all, too. It must be incredibly scary and painful, but you grew so much you guys will adjust just fine. Wish you all the best!

We had the same issue with an alter not realizing they're part of the body and thinking they're the systems doctor with our alter Jonathan Crane, and we feel the same way about having so many fictives, especially being polyfragmented
I don’t have DiD but I have to say if two characters from Batman showed up in my head I’d be pretty put off too. Especially if it happened while I was at work. So it seems reasonable that you might be overwhelmed or upset in the moment. And the new inner world must be very disorienting, like moving houses instantly. At least your new head mates seem very sweet. Make sure kit knows I hope she is feeling a little better
Can I just say that I love that Nygma and Os are a part of your system now? They were my favorites from the show. While I know it's not the same, I still love it and I that they are pitching in rather than causing chaos :) ❤🖤

I love that Ed and Oz aren’t a source of fear for your system, but they bring a sense that it isn’t a bad thing to grow and change. The inner world is now somewhere that you can ease into being okay with the fact that you can’t always make each thing about dealing with others perfect. It almost seems like a bit of a buffer zone. Or a safety net. They designed you a Sim Game 💕
Theres so much to unpack here, but the main point I want to make is that it seems like all of this led to some form of progress! Dr. Mann is aware of the system now, you're able to get in touch with the inner world thanks to the new alters, and Karen became so much more brave and cheery which is phenomenal! Also, side note, I am so distressed over the fact that Karen is nine and is a better artist than me haha. But seriously, I'm proud of you all for pushing through this. Its sad to think that small group of people basically bullied you all so badly though, you guys are all so kind and caring and don't deserve that one bit. Nothing but light ever radiates from you all and I hope you know that. x

Been on tumblr a long time, honestly people who send hate like that are in a lot of pain and they spread it to others and its sad and so unhealthy to be around if youre trying to heal. The fact that ppl with d.i.d. would do this knowing how harmful stress is to systems should really speak to how broken they are as people and how it wasnt about you guys but just them not understanding you guys are not abusive and picking that date wasnt meant to personally attack them and you guys were more than happy to edit it. What you did was in no wat deserving of the reaction it received.
We have an introject of Gotham's Os as well. Small world! Hope your Os is settling ing well, after our Os came around he was very grumpy at first but has come to adore us all and be fiercely protective. I'm sure your Os well be just as positive of a presense!

I just split recently. Not sure how many new alters are here but apparently one of them is Harley because she keeps saying "Yeah, Eddy's a real sweetheart." I think I should be concerned about my villain fictives because I seem to be collecting them.
I recently had a change to my inner world too! It's kinda funny since something good came out of a bad situation, and I finally have a full-fledged office (our last one was pretty half-assed) The last inner world was an endless mansion, but now we live in a city. I haven't been out into the city yet, the closest I've been is on the rooftop
@@Chloe-d4z I believe we do still have a garden! The garden we had previously was a very therapeutic place for me, so I'm sure it's somewhere near. Like I said, I haven't really explored around much, but I'm looking forward to it!

Goodness, so many changes! But kudos for you for continuing to roll with everything the best you can. We can’t wait for Ed and Oswald’s intro videos! Glad that Ed has jumped into system life with such vigor and leadership. Sometimes that’s how it be - a similar thing happened with us actually, a fictive was created and Sara just kinda. Took over a lot of responsibility and became a system leader very quickly. We are sending our love for everyone struggling with the changes, and Josh’s integration, especially to Kit. It’s never easy to suddenly lose the presence of someone who has just always been there. 🧡

Keep doing what your doing. You are fighting #DIDstgma so positively 🧡 You cannot hold yourselves responsibile for others triggers. A good friend of mine found your apology uncomfortable because you were blaming yourselves. It isn't, wasn't and will never be your fault. You all probably haven't followed #sra and other veins of #truth research. I have had a lot of trouble with trolls about my mental health, physical health, sexuality and left aligned political views. I let them win. I let them make me question myself. I filmed my DID awareness video when I was quite mentally unwell so it contains a lot of triggering content. I am always very wary about combining the truth community with MH awareness because it can trigger and retraumatise. I share your videos regularly within my community so people can gain a better understanding of DID. The system is an inspiration. Thank you for all that you do 💜 Keep your head held high. I have many questions about Ed and Oz. First of all, I totally freaked out cause Gotham is my favourite show and Ed is my favourite character. Did Ed and Oz immediately know they were part of a system or was there delusion around them? Do they remember a life, like from the Gotham TV show? Sort of in the same way Lito does? Do they display the bold characteristics those two characters have? Such as Ed's love of Riddles. I'm sure these questions will be answered in upcoming videos. I can't wait to meet Ed and Oz. I hope you make a few follow up videos explaining these two a bit more, of course if that is something you would like to do. I love your channel Wyn and look forward to seeing more videos. Take care!
We can’t even begin to tell you how this video made us feel. We have 3 fictives, and not really seeing it in many videos or talked about at all really made us feel like fish’s out of water or different. Honestly it makes us feel so relieved to not feel alone anymore having fictives that are/were somewhat popular characters. I mean, from watching your system and other's on youtube, it kinda feels to me like you're in this world and then people around you tell you you're part of a team that gets to take turns controlling this avatar in an alternate world. Theres a difference between that and a traumatic holiday when dozens of people get hurt yearly though. Its important to recognize why people were severely hurt by it, even if their reaction was wrong.
I remember you saying that you were halting the therapy. Since all of this has happened... are you planning on going back to explain or update your therapist? I say therapist because I cannot remember if you go to a psychologist or a psychiatrist. Love your system!!

Have you ever heard of an app called "amino"? Well, I'm not trying to advertise it or anything like that, I just think you'd like it. There's a community on there named "Mental Illness Support" that has helped me a lot with my own mental issues, and there are some very awesome people and systems on there, and I think you would like it. It would mean the whole world to me! If you do decide to check this out, which I understand if you would prefer not to do so, then you should start out in the general chat. I would recommend you talk the person who is the D.I.D. advisor, and another user simply named " Artist, who both have are extremely kind and welcoming systems. The user "Artist" is a very good friend of of mine, and most of her system is very nice as well, and very good at making people feel welcomed. Anywho, I hope I helped at least one person find some friends or just a place to vent about their problems, even if Wyn or any of her headmates never see, respond, or act upon this. Again, this is just something that helped me personally, and I would like others to be helped as well, but I am not trying to advertise or boast about this app in any negative way shape or form. The change of the inner world happening around the internet backlash time is interesting. Almost like you’ve realised you’re not alone in the world, life’s not lived secluded on an island.
So how do the alters talk to each other if there's like a "wall" that happens as you age? Like the personality splits and certain parts have different memories from each other. How do they come to know that the other personalities exist? Do neuroscientists etc know how or why this happens yet? (Was supposed to go into neurosciences but changed my desired field)
I know this video was posted a while ago but I'm not gonna lie, I started tearing up when you said that Josh had integrated. I love everyone in this system, but the stories I would hear about Josh made something warm in my heart. Knowing now that we aren't going to hear from him again makes me sad, but I'm also very happy he felt he was ready to take such a huge step, helping Karen (sorry if I spelt her name wrong) alone the way

Wow. That's a lot of changes. It sounds exhausting. Am questioning the whole integration theory as a "cure". If we've been doing this from very early age. It feels more like an ingrain coping mechanism, not skill. Like part of a cog, not a loose screw but an actual extra working cog. If all parts integrate. Another trauma happens, why wouldn't their be another splitting? Honestly am only 18 mths dx. And stll figuring a lot out, so that thought may just be a very juvenile journey thought. Thank you for your videos, they are helpful, educational, hopeful, inspiring and comforting.
After "full integration," splits can absolutely happen again. The brain knows this mechanism for coping and will still use it when necessary. Full integration is not guaranteed permanent nor a "cure," in the sense that DID is lifelong as the mechanism for splitting remains. My mom has been through this. Integration can be super healthy and maintained indefinitely, if there isn't enough stress and no trauma or any situation that the psyche sees fit to create an alter to handle. Integration is a goal for many systems, but it's more a functional treatment rather than cure. So to answer you plainly, yes the integration can absolutely be undone, and the coping mechanism is ingrained and never goes away permanently. Full integration should I think only be undertaken when the system's life and routine are established in balance and they have a good handle on coping skills, stress reduction and anxiety avoidance and relief, in order to give integration the best possible chance to stay stable.
Wow what a huge update! I love learning about your journey and even though it has been a stressful time for you, I hope all of you are adjusting well to these big changes and the new inner world! I wonder if there is a dark place in the city now just like the one that was on the island.

My best friend is a 23-year old female with diagnosed DID, and her system is extremely complex, with at least 45 alters, one of whom has his own system (so she has a subsystem and makes about 100 alters total) and they are my family at this point. This is so validating for me, too, because I'm having symptoms myself. I love learning about you and your system. ❤️ You're tough, and so are they.
I didn't realize alters could integrate with other alters that aren't the host/core. Are they more Karen than Josh and is that why we are still calling her Karen? I'd like more clarification on that part. I'm glad she's doing well though, and I love her new hair. Great video, thanks for sharing!
Insane Sanity you should read the book switching time. In the end it explains how integrating multiple alters are decided within the system. The book was recommended you Wyn’s therapist. She hasn’t been able to read the part on integration yet (her therapist recommended that particular section of the book to help her understand integration more).. I think she mentioned it was triggering to her system so she put it away. It’s such a great book!

From everything I've learnt, imagine you are an orange that gets split into sections. The "core" is not more or less than an alter as well. Everyone is equal in terms of being pieces of the whole. Alters can choose to integrate into other alters other than the "core" - Evan and Risk in Jeremy's system were extremely close and when Risk couldn't handle it anymore he integrated with Evan and now Evan holds a combination of himself and Risk.
Mistletoe integrated with Wyn and I always wondered if that's because she wanted Wyn to feel what Mistletoe was feeling...
I'd definitely check our Jeremy:An Alternative perspective, they have videos on when Risk and Evan integrated, post-integrated Evan made a video about the aftermath of integrating and what it feels like etc.

while i don't have DID i am part of a broader community, being a survivor of trauma with a traumatogenic disorder, and i consider ur system to be a hugely important and valuable force in this community. u help so many people myself included and i feel ...angry, i guess... disappointed and hurt perhaps moreso... that ur contribution to this community has been met with undeserved and hateful backlash from a select few. i imagine they are acting from a place of hurt, and i wish them healing. while calling people out for wrongdoing is valid and necessary, i believe we need to recognize when its unintentional and accept apologies for any harm done. u guys took responsibility for your mistake with much grace and anyone should be able to recognize ur commited to helping, not harming.

I'm really glad that Josh felt light enough that he could let go of needing to be around. The fact that he felt that way, despite all the triggers and traumas happening at the time speaks strongly of the overall health of the system continuing to improve. I'm really glad that his integration has helped Karen be less afraid all the time. ❤️ That was a super sweet gift of his.

That sounds like your system had to undergo an update because of a virus (the hate comments) which resulted in scary changes like a new user interface, but also brought new features (new alters) and exciting improvements like Josh merging, or your ability to spawn in the headspace and control your avatar there.
The mentioning of the term npc just opened a whole box up of new ways to think about it in my head.
It's fascinating, inspiring and gives me hope to see, that something shit as a wave of hatred and a whole bunch of chances still managed to create some good things.
I hope your system sees the positive in it all, too. It must be incredibly scary and painful, but you grew so much you guys will adjust just fine.

We had the same issue with an alter not realizing they're part of the body and thinking they're the systems doctor with our alter Jonathan Crane, and we feel the same way about having so many fictives, especially being polyfragmented
I don’t have DiD but I have to say if two characters from Batman showed up in my head I’d be pretty put off too. Especially if it happened while I was at work. So it seems reasonable that you might be overwhelmed or upset in the moment. And the new inner world must be very disorienting, like moving houses instantly. At least your new head mates seem very sweet. Make sure kit knows I hope she is feeling a little better

I love that Ed and Oz aren’t a source of fear for your system, but they bring a sense that it isn’t a bad thing to grow and change. The inner world is now somewhere that you can ease into being okay with the fact that you can’t always make each thing about dealing with others perfect. It almost seems like a bit of a buffer zone. Or a safety net.

Theres so much to unpack here, but the main point I want to make is that it seems like all of this led to some form of progress! Dr. Mann is aware of the system now, you're able to get in touch with the inner world thanks to the new alters, and Karen became so much more brave and cheery which is phenomenal! Also, side note, I am so distressed over the fact that Karen is nine and is a better artist than me haha. But seriously, I'm proud of you all for pushing through this. Its sad to think that small group of people basically bullied you all so badly though, you guys are all so kind and caring and don't deserve that one bit. Been on tumblr a long time, honestly people who send hate like that are in a lot of pain and they spread it to others and its sad and so unhealthy to be around if youre trying to heal. The fact that ppl with d.i.d. would do this knowing how harmful stress is to systems should really speak to how broken they are as people and how it wasnt about you guys but just them not understanding you guys are not abusive and picking that date wasnt meant to personally attack them and you guys were more than happy to edit it. What you did was in no wat deserving of the reaction it received.
We have an introject of Gotham's Os as well. Small world! Hope your Os is settling ing well, after our Os came around he was very grumpy at first but has come to adore us all and be fiercely protective. I'm sure your Os well be just as positive of a presense!

I just split recently. Not sure how many new alters are here but apparently one of them is Harley because she keeps saying "Yeah, Eddy's a real sweetheart." I think I should be concerned about my villain fictives because I seem to be collecting them.
I recently had a change to my inner world too! It's kinda funny since something good came out of a bad situation, and I finally have a full-fledged office (our last one was pretty half-assed) The last inner world was an endless mansion, but now we live in a city. I haven't been out into the city yet, the closest I've been is on the rooftop

Sometimes that’s how it be - a similar thing happened with us actually, a fictive was created and Sara just kinda. Took over a lot of responsibility and became a system leader very quickly.

I filmed my DID awareness video when I was quite mentally unwell so it contains a lot of triggering content.
I am always very wary about combining the truth community with MH awareness because it can trigger and retraumatise.

I have many questions about Ed and Oz. First of all, I totally freaked out cause Gotham is my favourite show and Ed is my favourite character. Did Ed and Oz immediately know they were part of a system or was there delusion around them? Do they remember a life, like from the Gotham TV show? Sort of in the same way Lito does? Do they display the bold characteristics those two characters have? Such as Ed's love of Riddles. I'm sure these questions will be answered in upcoming videos. I can't wait to meet Ed and Oz. We can’t even begin to tell you how this video made us feel. We have 3 fictives, and not really seeing it in many videos or talked about at all really made us feel like fish’s out of water or different. Honestly it makes us feel so relieved to not feel alone anymore having fictives that are/were somewhat popular characters.

Theres a difference between that and a traumatic holiday when dozens of people get hurt yearly though. Its important to recognize why people were severely hurt by it, even if their reaction was wrong.

Have you ever heard of an app called "amino"? Well, I'm not trying to advertise it or anything like that, I just think you'd like it. There's a community on there named "Mental Illness Support" that has helped me a lot with my own mental issues, and there are some very awesome people and systems on there, and I think you would like it. It would mean the whole world to me! If you do decide to check this out, which I understand if you would prefer not to do so, then you should start out in the general chat. I would recommend you talk the person who is the D.I.D. advisor, and another user simply named " Artist, who both have are extremely kind and welcoming systems. The user "Artist" is a very good friend of of mine, and most of her system is very nice as well, and very good at making people feel welcomed.
Anywho, I hope I helped at least one person find some friends or just a place to vent about their problems, even if Wyn or any of her headmates never see, respond, or act upon this.
Again, this is just something that helped me personally, and I would like others to be helped as well, but I am not trying to advertise or boast about this app in any negative way shape or form. I just want to help. Thank you so much if you read untill the end, and have a wonderful day everyone. ❤️

What if new alters coming IS the rebalancing the system needs? And then complete integration would be a re-rebalancing like the final rebalancing?
People are ridiculous emotional creatures. I'm sorry that happened. Is it bad that I chuckled a bit? You got to have a sense of humor about it all.
What does integrating mean exactly? Is it just two alters combining?

The change of the inner world happening around the internet backlash time is interesting.
Almost like you’ve realised you’re not alone in the world, life’s not lived secluded on an island.
So how do the alters talk to each other if there's like a "wall" that happens as you age? Like the personality splits and certain parts have different memories from each other. How do they come to know that the other personalities exist? Do neuroscientists etc know how or why this happens yet? (Was supposed to go into neurosciences but changed my desired field)
I know this video was posted a while ago but I'm not gonna lie, I started tearing up when you said that Josh had integrated. I love everyone in this system, but the stories I would hear about Josh made something warm in my heart. Knowing now that we aren't going to hear from him again makes me sad, but I'm also very happy he felt he was ready to take such a huge step, helping Karen (sorry if I spelt her name wrong) alone the way

I had no idea that alters could control if they integrated or not. Also didn't know some could have that much power in creating an inner world. Thanks for the video (and I really hope thanks get better for you guys, this seems like a lot to deal with right now but I know you'll get through it).

Wow. That's a lot of changes. It sounds exhausting. Am questioning the whole integration theory as a "cure". If we've been doing this from very early age. It feels more like an ingrain coping mechanism, not skill. Like part of a cog, not a loose screw but an actual extra working cog. If all parts integrate. Another trauma happens, why wouldn't their be another splitting?
Honestly am only 18 mths dx. And stll figuring a lot out, so that thought may just be a very juvenile journey thought.

After "full integration," splits can absolutely happen again. The brain knows this mechanism for coping and will still use it when necessary. Full integration is not guaranteed permanent nor a "cure," in the sense that DID is lifelong as the mechanism for splitting remains.
My mom has been through this.
Integration can be super healthy and maintained indefinitely, if there isn't enough stress and no trauma or any situation that the psyche sees fit to create an alter to handle. Integration is a goal for many systems, but it's more a functional treatment rather than cure. So to answer you plainly, yes the integration can absolutely be undone, and the coping mechanism is ingrained and never goes away permanently. Full integration should I think only be undertaken when the system's life and routine are established in balance and they have a good handle on coping skills, stress reduction and anxiety avoidance and relief, in order to give integration the best possible chance to stay stable.
