A scanner to read injector pulse at idle will tell you
Mines doing this and no mechanic can figure it out. Does yours smoke? Mine does not but it sounds like hell and gets much better when hot
I only have a little smoke at start up.

Hello my friend,Yes! For testing is ok. I do that on the Cummins or CAT all the time. You can do that with the scan tool too.
So this didn't actually fix your knock issue
