Macho Man follows Adrian Gray's journey to try and become a more masculine man, in an attempt to regain the love of his father. Along the way he meets a Men's Rights Activist, a pick-up artist, and embarrasses himself.

If ever a sentence encapsulated gender politics as succinctly as this I haven't seen it. Brilliant. Pure brilliance. The menstrual reference is so subtle in it's beauty, awards should be given.
So subtle, I nearly missed it! And the way it hit one moment later - oh, god, yes.
@@jaakaart The reverse. He's saying the stereotypes about men are violent in fact based on news reports (factual) but stereotypes about women being scatterbrained etc are fictions created by romcom writers (fiction)
@@jaakaart Absolutely but remember that this is a parody film about "masculinity" and its definitions and perceptions. Overall this is a satirical, wry piece of film and this statement we are discussing portrays reality vs fiction.

This is so tongue-in-cheek and I fucking love it. Especially amused at all the subtle digs during the men's rights part - men being portrayed as violent on abusive on tv shows like the news indeed!
Oh god! This is your best one... It's consistently funny throughout multiple viewings, and the wholesome heartfelt speech on stage is strangely moving and makes for a brilliant ending... I love how you've evoked our empathy for the character in this scene.
