I like the clean shave brother looking good man!! I like a bigger board but as a smaller guy I don't want it to big otherwise it feels heavy to me I found 8.5 works best for me for tricks , my cruiser board I like big and wide.
Rail positioning for me has never been about sliding. More for gripping, boneless etc..More of a comfort thing. Most likely unnecessary? Issue I have as an old pool skater with a non directional board is I always rely on my front truck a bit stiffer(back looser) for hard carves. Buddy of mine introduced me to double carving round bowls. Super fun!
