This is a beautiful tribute video. We grew up in the same era (but not the same area... I'm in Australia) , and I'd seen a few articles about Tommy, and was blown away when I saw the yellow deck too, which I somehow managed to scrounge money together to actually buy it. Pretty sure I was maybe 11 or 12. I was a terrible skateboarder, but had a lot of fun being a terrible skateboarder 😁 There was something inherently special about the skateboarding community back then. I ended up drifting away from skateboarding and found the same sense of community in the local punk scene. Not really sure where my original yellow Guerrero went, but was stoked to see the reissue and promptly bought it. Not sure if I'll ever ride it, but the feelings of nostalgia this board brings is insane. Hard to believe that it was 36-37 years ago. Thanks for posting the video!
In 1988, I was 10, but fully immersed into skate culture 🛹 My older Brother was 14 and we would spend EVERY AFTERNOON shreddin' 😏 Glad to've been part of the 'golden age' 🥇
Love these memories! TG always killed it and super chill. Fun to think back to these times on my sk8 with no cell phone etc. I remember me and my buddies watching Chris Miller taking the head dive in Simi Valley Upland Skate park. He is another of my favorites, still crushing it! Sk8 on everyone….
I remember reading that interview, and Tommy Guerrero talking about Star wars t-shirts mom would buy. Super cool. I thought to myself he's a kid just like me
Scott we started having skate jams in 1985. Nova year. Didn't we meet around that time? Thanks to Sanchez I got a blue Tommy board. Sanchez was the master lol. He got me like 10 boards from bikes etc
I met you in Dave's house the first time in 86-87 I was in 8th grade at buckeye Jr. High in 87. I'm probably 3-4 years younger than you. I wasn't allowed to leave the neighborhood until high school😂!
@scott.skates 86-87 I was 16-17 years old lol. Finished high school in 87. I forget you were so much younger than me. Or what seemed so much younger back in the day
Got my first skateboard in 1987 at seven years old stop skating in 96, grew old, then started skating again, two years ago🛹🤙🏼😎
Most underrated OG

He has a nice aggressive style 🤙
I wore white Rector gloves way after they were "cool" because of Tommys part!
