      6:51 Quick Silver bullets, you missed the best tip! Hit the UP button right before you start comboing on an enemy. The hits you land'll heal you back up thanks to the rally system, so as long as you're doing it right, you can have free QS bullets the entire game, no vial use necessary to counteract it.

    • @1Synner
      @1Synner 4 роки тому +2

      To be fair, Bloodlickers are totally bullshit. Quite literally the only enemy in the game that is, really. Stupidly fast, have combo attacks, do WAY too much damage in one hit, can clear distances faster than any other enemy, are pretty much entirely dangerous except when at the hindquarters, have no parry windows (that I'm aware of), and are an absolute nightmare in Chalice dungeons (their only saving grace there is that they drop something really nice in the dungeons when they are killed off upon returning to a visceraled area). Their only real weakness they have is sticking to their hindquarters, but one should NEVER stand directly behind them, lest they wanna get bucked in the face by their back legs.
      Also, free tip. When Father Logarius is about to enter phase 2 of his battle and go super saiyan, run up behind him, and visceral him. It'll cancel out his bullet deflecting aura and make phase 2 MUCH easier to handle on the whole. I learned that while doing a Lvl DIE run.

    VERY IMPORTANT: Even if you have killed an enemy, smacking them a few times after and as they die will still trigger Rally and give you back health. So do that, it will save you more blood vials than you know.

      It took me literal years to learn this lesson. Bought the game due to a combination of hype, interest in the setting and story, and it was on sale. The first few tries at it ruined my morale. It wasn't until I watched someone play BB who knew almost every little thing about it, and was immediately inspired to get in there and try again, however this time without putting all the pressure on myself to succeed immediately. I began playing the game in bursts to maximise my enjoyment while minimising frustration. It is now one of my all time favourite games.

    My tip:
    Dont be afraid to take a break. If you are getting frustrated and not having any fun at all, stop. Come back to it later, whether that's the same day, later that week, or even months later.
    Personally, my first block was Gascoigne. I wasn't having fun, stopped for a couple months, then came back and made some progress. Next the Blood Starved Beast was another wall. Shorter break this time, only a month or so, then when I came back it finally clicked. I've loved this game ever since.

      Best advice you can give. At BSB now and I find myself begrudgingly returning and losing and thinking "ugh, I gotta go grind shit again?!". It's seems like a good game but very unforgiving if youre new and unfamiliar or a tad wasteful with supplies.
      The size and scope of what remains in this game, judging from some of these review/tip vids is daunting too when considering how early on one is in the game.

    I tell a lot of my friends when playing this game the first time. I promise you that at least 45% of your deaths on first encounters with bosses will be from panic. The more confident you are, the better you'll play. It's a mind over matter type thing and it works. Once you learn to calm down, you start to notice certain things about bosses, patterns of attacks and most importantly you start making better decisions. You begin to think on your feet and adapt to situations much faster.

      This, basically, though in my case I would call it focus more than confidence. I only started a little while ago, but after getting eaten by Gascoigne for the millionth time and nearly hurling my controller, something clicked in my head and went, "Stop. You KNOW what you're doing wrong, and you know WHY you keep doing it. Stop worrying about IF you get hit, and remember what to do WHEN you get hit." The next time I fought him I stomped him so hard, so fast, with so few blood vials that my previous losses seemed downright shameful. It was practically easy. Since then, that same click occurred after just one loss against Blood Starved Beast and Vicar Amelia and I rocked them both on the second go, and I wasn't even trying to win I just wanted to learn their attacks better. Even just reaching the old hunter workshop killed me over and over because I was trying to find a safe route, but as soon as I let that go and just accepted I was gonna take fall damage, got it in one. My advice: go into every boss fight with the acceptance of dying the first time. Just focus on their attacks and how to dodge and visceral them (if possible). These types of games are hard, so learning how an enemy attacks and what they’re weak to can either make or break the fight. Bosses attack differently, and if you don’t take the time to learn their move sets, you’re going to have a hard time. I usually give the bosses a couple soft tries my first go round before actually really trying. This allows me to learn when, how and where to dodge, and when to attack. It’s a hard game, but it’s all about patterns, and the more you focus on their patterns and how they move, the more ample you’ll be to overcome them. And if you’re really stuck-UA-cam that shit. These videos exist to help you, and there is no shame in using this as a resource, as you can plainly see. Overall: find a way to have fun. It is a video game after all. @@beargrylls6135 I get it. I didn’t mean to come off as mean, so I apologize. In my first official playthroughs of these games, that’s how I approach the bosses. I’m not the best at these games, so it takes me a couple soft tries to learn their move set. After beating the game once, I go back through on new game + and usually beat them on my first try. It is a euphoric feeling, yes, but beating them alone usually gives me that feeling. I still remember when I finally beat Martyr my first time. The rush I felt from beating that atrocious boss made me shut the game off to enjoy my accomplishment, rather than diving further and being locked behind another boss. I started playing the game again recently and I’ve been beating a lot of the bosses on my first try, for the exception of a couple. It still holds to be one of my most favorite games I’ve ever played, and one of the games that had stuck with me having conquered the game so far back when I wasn’t used to its difficulty

      @Juston Dement I started BB when it was free on ps+, got stuck on Reborn and stopped playing for 3 years. Then I got more into souls games and spent easily over 200h in both ds2 and ds3. Now last month I got ps+ again and decided to give this game a chance, downloaded it and fuck yes I'm happy I did! I mostly remembered my way to Reborn but after that it was full blind playthrough. Last time I hated the dark athmosphere and these beast type enemies, was scared of the environment and enemies, scared to lose my echoes, and overall scared of the game. But now I've grown to love it. Lore plays a big role for me why I started to appreciate this game with totally different eyes. But with that said, this time this game felt so much easier than before. Experience carries over within Soulsborne and tbh I was little annoyed how easy it felt. Most tries I needed was 4 tries for Reborn and most of the bosses I killed in first try. Some of them gave amazing feeling but most just left me dissapointed because I was looking for the insane difficulty. But, this game is now easily my favorite game and can't wait to see all of the endings there is.
      I actually played with same strategy than you, 1 or 2 bosses and then I stopped, not because i'd get stuck, but I didnt want to consume whole game in few sessions. I found it very enjoyable and way less stressing.

Weapons that scale equally with Strength and Skill are called Quality weapons, and builds that level both Strength and Skill, are called Quality Builds. A C/C weapon with 25/25 STR SKL will provide you the same stat weight as an A/- weapon with 50 for its dedicated stat. Also, if i had to give one more tip to new players is to not save up all those coldblood dew items, its ok for a little while but i've caught myself holding on to them for the entire game, and when i finally use them they're worthless because i can just kill enemies to get echoes way faster.

    thought of some of my own tips, i don’t kno
    w how helpful they’ll be for other players but it’s all things i try to keep in mind while playing:
    1. molotovs annihilate the cleric beast.
    2. visceral attack the living hell out of gascoigne, it takes chunks out of his health. most (if not all) of his attacks, both pre and post transformation, have pretty long wind ups that are easy to predict and parry. it feels a little cheap for me, but i honestly don’t feel that bad because of how many times he killed me on my first play through. in my experience, molotovs are also good against him in all phases but especially his last one.
    3. get rid of your insight using the insight bath before fighting the witch of hemwick. walk in the first time and get the insight from starting the boss, use a bold hunters mark, and then level up and spend all of your insight at the insight bath. having no insight for that fight makes it the easiest boss in the game because it prevents certain monsters from spawning during the fight.
    4. before fighting the blood starved beast, stock up on antidotes and talk to alfred in the cathedral ward to get fire paper. (there’s more in depth walkthroughs that show you where to find him, but basically, he’s praying at an altar on the way from the cathedral ward to old yharnam, walk up to him and tell him you want to cooperate for the fire paper). during the actual BSB fight, dodge left and go behind him to wail on him.
    5. the way i got better at bosses that were difficult for me was using the small resonant bell to go help other players. you don’t lose your echoes when you die in other players’ worlds (i don’t think?), you get the same amount of echoes that the beckoner gets from bosses and enemies, you get insight after beating the boss, and it’s easier with other people while it also helps you learn, so it’s definitely worth it imo. the main downside is that using the bell takes a big chunk out of your health, so you should probably have a good vitality level and the league rune before using it.
    6. it’s annoying, but i always try to kill all the little spiders during the rom fight before focusing on her. ive died a lot because of their stupid jump attack that i didn’t notice because i had my back turned/was beating up rom, so to avoid that, just kill the spiders. also, when killing them, go behind them instead of attacking their head because the head attacks don’t do as much damage. baiting them into their jump attack, dodging, and then attacking them when they’re upside down is another easy way to kill them.
    7. get the dlc, imo it’s the best part of the game.

    Definitely take advantage of the up arrow bullet retrieval feature. If you parry alot have 30 to 35 bullets at least in your storage. Bullets are the only storage item accessible while you're deployed in Yarnham. Take advantage of that. They are also the easiest way to deal with multiple dogs.

    There’s actually a unique attack that occurs when transforming weapons normally. Ludwig’s Holy Blade for example, has a (relatively) fast one-handed swing when you’re going from the straight sword to Greatsword and when doing the opposite you get a heavier two-handed swing than you normally do when using the smaller form. Experiment with weapons to see what each of these... post-transformative? attacks can do.

    • @ember3530
      @ember3530 4 роки тому +1

      Yes I know exactly what you're talking about. The Ludwig's Holy Blade is the best example. Both its forms do an attack like this, but the other one is actually slower so I don't recommend it. @lukekusanagi5289 4 роки тому

      @@ember3530 It's great because you can use that post-transform r1 1 handed greatsword slash to chain into the two handed horizontal slashes without going into the slam attack. so you can get 3 horizontal slashes with greatsword mode which is much faster and higher damage output than two slashes and the slam.

    • @ember3530

      Luke Kusanagi The LHB is the only heavy weapon I use in most of the souls games, the only exception to that being in Demon's Souls where I found Large Swords to be my preferred choice. I usually find them too slow and with annoying quirks, like unchainable heavies or something of the like. The LHB solves this problem by giving a quick attack after transformation and also with the heavy amount of stagger damage it can dish out to make it viable in a game as fast paced as Bloodborne. The fact that it does a lot of damage is what makes the weapon so good. It's fast enough to be usable, it does great damage, it has even scaling across Strength and Skill, and it staggers enemies and bosses really easily. There's no question in my mind that it is the best weapon for PvE, even if it isn't my preferred choice.

    I know I'm late, but here's a tip against NPC Hunters: use Bestial Roar to cheese them: you can knock them to the ground, then use the time to charge an R2 so you can give them a Visceral Attack, then repeat for as long as you have quicksilver. By the time you run out, they'll have lost most of their health.
    Another tip against NPC hunters: the wooden shield is actually usable against hunters who use light weapons like the cane or a sword; don't rely on it to stop a full combo, but use it to avoid being stunlocked by R1 spam

    One tip I always try to remember: "A smart Hunter takes stock of his surroundings, so as to not get backed into a corner or stuck on the environment in the heat of battle." If you're worried about an encounter you see ahead, take a little time to look around, plan where you want the enemy to fight you, and how much room you'll have to evade, because nothing sucks worse than getting backed into a corner or surrounded(or worse, both at the same time). Also, when fighting Mergo's Wet Nurse, when she pulls out her doppelganger, the best way to survive is unlock from her, and just start running in a massive circle around the room. As long as you keep moving(even when your stamina runs out) most of their attacks will miss you, and then once she's back to normal, you can re-lock and fight as normal.

Especially in Bloodborne where it's so fast pace, learning how long an attack wind-up is going to take and when to doge or parry is incredibly important. Also if you're having trouble with parries, just keep practicing and try baiting attacks to allow some distance when trying to parry. Often times the enemy will miss anyways and you still get the parry.
