To this day, this is my favorite exterior of any car ever. I just wish the interior was as timeless as the out. If I had the money, I’d buy one and redo the entire inside.
Clean R8. Face-lift model started in 2014 in the USA and when the power bump to 430hp occurred. I don't know what exhaust you have but the previous owner added sone prefacelift V10 exhaust tips along with the aftermarket exhaust which sounds really nice.
I own a couple Audis, an A6 with the 3.0 and an S6 with the twin turbo 4.0. I LOVE my S6. Maintenance is exorbitant. Cannot imagine maintenance for an R8. Of most brands and styles Audi is overall quietly understated, it does not scream look at me but at the same time demands respect. Later models interiors are no joke, and arguably the best. Happy for you on your purchase, personally as much as it has cost me for ownership, it would not stop me from purchasing it over again.
In terms of supercars the R8 is one of the most reliable. Can’t compare high performance vehicles to regular ones, they’re designed to push their machinery to the limits which is contrary to reliability.
I have almost the same car but with the V10. I gotta say, the gated manual makes driving this such a lovely experience. I got mine at 13k km, also a very good story with past owners. I hope you keep it for very long and drive it even when it becomes a 40 year old classic car!
Well done. I've just bought a V10 Plus Gen1 S Tronic and I'm starting to get in confidence with a lot of respect, cause it's winter time and road conditions are far from ideal. It has impressive power and performances for me: I own a Lotus Elise 220 Sport for about 2 years and that's a really different car (power, weight and drive feeling). Hope you'll enjoy yours!
When I go through a tunnel it’s a joy keeping it stock but really would like to have aftermarket exhaust went with the v8 engine good luck with it 😊

Fantastic car, especially that it's gated manual! Looking to pick up one of these next year, probably an early V8 R-tronic due to budget (here in europe the manuarls are about 20% more expensive). I've been in one and it's just a dream car tbh. There is one thing you've said I don't think is correct though... the R8 doesn't have a flat plane crank, if I'm wrong somebody please correct me. Overall great video and enjoy the car, it's going to be a classic soon (if it's not already)!
I love mine. I was also looking at F-types, (specifically a new P450). As a weekend car,the R8 is much more of an occasion and feels lighter and more engaging. If you’re going to daily it the ftype would probably be the better daily. But for me as a weekend car so glad I went with the R8 Thanks for watching!
Exhaust tips are add-ons and not OEM. You can tell as the cut in the bumper isn't oval to fit the shape. Exhaust is not stock either. So these tips must have been added whilst upgrading the exhaust line. If you take good care of this car, it will be on your side for many years to come and every time you're behind the wheel, that wow face is back on.
nice review. I've owned my 08 manual for 2 yrs now and I love it. the previous owner swapped in carbon ceramic brakes and oem coils from a crashed r8 g. bestt thing I did was convert it to rear wheel drive. def worth considering. I just had a carbon cleaning done along with some other maintenance such as replacing the coolant reservoir and swapping plugs/coils.
I love the shifter but one day a new clutch 🤑 my r8 v8 is great but it’s crazy that my gti after 12 years difference in tech drives Similar drivability
A friend of a friend is selling his 2009 Audi r8 with 80k miles He does have a rebuilt title having a side hit collision But the insurance ended rebuilding the vehicle and replacing all the mag ride shocks He’s asking 40k You’ll think it’s a good deal for a 2009 with 80k miles plus salvage title ?
I will buy one very soon Audi R8 v8 I’m hoping it will be from the year of 2012 due to the fact the transmission was renewed I would like it to be R tronic I love Audi but from the first generation
you have a facelift rear bumper on your pre-facelift car...... that was not an option from factory. I'm speculating with some certainty that the person who changed the exhaust did the bumper at same time as they are not cross compatible. pre facelift genwon needs genwon exhaust and facelift to facelift. etc. Michelin's are a million times better for this car. Enjoy it. I have a 2012 and did VF Engineering tune.... was worth every penny.
Leaking shocks. check in and around the wheel arches to see. You should be able to see part of the shock unless it’s been modified. Check the AC. Make sure all the controls for it work, Fan speed, temperature etc. Very common problem on V8 models and it’s not cheap to fix. I made a separate video going over some of these things in a little bit more detail if you’re interested. Thanks for watching!
Im into bikes more superbikes i av 2 of them and a audi tt 225 which i love but a audi r8 v8 is a dream for me i will get one some day a beautiful car enjoy sir
I definitely think so. Obviously the most desirable one will be the Gen 1 V10 with a gated manual but the V8 gated manual will be not too far behind that. Thanks for watching!
Yep. Interesting to see the difference in the markets. From what I’ve seen in the US the “higher end“ sports and supercars tend to sell for more than in the UK. Another example would be Aventador’s and 458’s are more here than the UK. Thanks for watching!
@@drivenmad2089 All has to do with taxes too. I have never seen a place where cars are so cheap as in the UK. Then comes the US. On ebay at this moment, there is a 2008 v8 R8 for £27k
That is true the Audi r 8 will never go out of style because the body that Audi made back when it look like a Audi R8 which is generation one the one you have is the perfect Audi because it’s original form … that new version they changed the body of the r 8 is not an Audi it a Acura NSX body it like that car I can’t believe what Audi has done in changing the body a bunch of idiots
Please get rid of the background music. It is soo annoying. Real gear heads want to hear the damn car. I don't need the newest toys. But this is on my "lotto list".... I'll be lucky to get a C7 Corvette, eventually.
To this day, this is my favorite exterior of any car ever. I just wish the interior was as timeless as the out. If I had the money, I’d buy one and redo the entire inside.
Honestly for me the only thing that really stands out as outdated is the center screen/radio.
Thanks for watching!
Agreed
The r8 will never go out of style. Congrats.
I agree, it’s crazy that it’s over 10 years old but still looks great today!
Thanks for watching!
Never 💪
A future classic for sure! The car was a watershed for street-able supercars.

Nice man congrats on the V10! They’re great cars! Enjoying mine a lot! I’m sure that S-tronic rips off shifts!

2014 Audi got the power bump to 430 and that was the first year of the Dual Clutch (S-Tronic) here in North America.
Tyre size stock in uk is 235 and 295 if you got 305 on rear it’s 245 on front.
Sounds amazing. Can you have a look at the exhaust brand?
It does! And yeah I’m gonna try to figure it out haha just gotta do some digging
Thanks for watching!
I’m currently looking at gen 1’s, I’ve had an a5, a7 and S5/4.2/man. I was looking at F-Types but think this is the route to go.

Awesome car dude what a beauty ❤
My opinion that first gen r8 has always been the best looking r8 even better than the v10 version
%100 going to be a classic car

Congratulations! Hope I can achieve this one day.
I’m getting my R8 V10 next Saturday. Super excited. Do you recommend adding oil weekly or what?
Such an amazing car, love it!

That’s a pretty good deal for an r8 😮
That’s an absolute bargain. Any price below £50K is a bargain imo
It might be a Capristo exhaust? Sounds and looks like it.
how expensive is it to maintain this car?
I will buy one very soon Audi R8 v8 I’m hoping it will be from the year of 2012 due to the fact the transmission was renewed I would like it to be R tronic I love Audi but from the first generation

I've enjoyed my f90 M5 for long enough. I love it but it's time for another NA powered sports car! I've got the itch....
Dude that's exactly what happened to me! Got the itch, then BOOM....I had an R8 haha
Thanks for watching!
What color is the paint on this audi r8 it looks like cream, i also like the cream interior
The exterior color is called Suzuka Grey
Nice car. You need to lower your ride height mate. 👍
I'm looking at those too. wondering how maintenance costs would be though??
I’m gonna give an update on that in a little bit. But so far there’s been nothing wrong with the car.
Thanks for watching!
I need to find a way to get one 😢
thinking about buying a 2009 r8 with 32k miles. what should I watch out for?
Leaking shocks. check in and around the wheel arches to see. You should be able to see part of the shock unless it’s been modified. Check the AC. Make sure all the controls for it work, Fan speed, temperature etc. Very common problem on V8 models and it’s not cheap to fix.

My name is Tyler McCann and I will be an Audi R8 owner one day. this shall serve as an extension toy daily affirmations.

Nah bro I disagree, I'd choose the manual v8 for sure, I love this car
Im into bikes more superbikes i av 2 of them and a audi tt 225 which i love but a audi r8 v8 is a dream for me i will get one some day a beautiful car enjoy sir
I get that, I love bikes too! but yeah the R8 it fantastic!
Thanks for watching!
And if you think you need more hp, buy à compressor, but she didnt need it
My take is get the 10 if you want to track somewhat regularly, get the 8 if it’s more of a daily than a track car.
Any issues with it yet?
Do you think the Audi R8 gen 1 will be a future classic car?

@@drivenmad2089 it’s iconic.
It’s weird seeing a cream interior
Before even watching its simply bcs u could not afford the V10, so why even buy one in the first place buddy?
Wow...they are still much more expensive than in the UK

Loads of these for 30k now in the uk on autotrader. I work for myself. 30k is so doable within 12 months. Food for thought. Ask me in 12 months 😅

Driving an Audi R8 off road???? Wtf man..
Let me borrow ya car bro lol
👀😂
Lord Jesus Christ loves you ❤
The R8 is the slowest supercar, but it is a Volkswagen. It has the Volkswagen parts price and labor. Well bought.
Nice backhanded compliment.
Yeah curious what exhaust it has? Please LMK!
I’ll do an update for sure once I can actually figure out which it is haha
