Anyone else remember when this was called 'teasing' your hair and everyone knew how to do it, without being taught? Yes, it will damage your hair, it's inevitable, if you do this on a regular basis.
OMG! Drew is gorgeous! He was very nice, sweet and extremely generous showing and telling how to do this teasing thing correctly. That lady was kind of rude, but I think in reality she was nervous, because of his "smizing"
@@djfhfh It's been two years since my comment... I've since learned how to cut my hair in a way to create more volume at the crown, and it works great. I have long hair, and I found a video on cutting the hair at the crown shorter and leaving the front and the rest long. It really did wonders, and I've been cutting my hair that way ever since. Just have shorter hair at the crown and it tends to be more light and lifted giving me the "backhead" I've always wanted. I admire a large backhead.
@@namuun10969 I used this video as a reference. But I don't even do it precise like he does... I just kinda grab all the hair at the top/crown of my head, brush it up, and cut it. ua-cam.com/video/AwysSy4scqA/v-deo.html
@@nicoleaguirre5747 my hair is about mid-back length. I kinda taper when I cut the crown hair, the shortest pieces being as short as 3 to 5 inches at the very crowny part. It's kinda hard to explain without having a visual to show you. But I'm still doin it and it's still workin great.
I was born with teased hair. Growing up, kids always told me I combed my hair with an egg beater. I had to get a keratin and a flat iron💓 Look At Me Now. Lol people are still teasing their hair?.
My hair sucks and if not cut properly with a razor, that part of my hair won’t lift period. I had to buy a razor from Sally’s of all places, I pull that crown up and just dice into it with that razor. Those shears and twisting my hair doesn’t do the job either.

This is the best video on the subject. Thank you!!!
Did a really great job helping me learn!
I like how he gently back Combs. Nicely done
You should spritz it a little with holding spray at the roots, as soon as you tease it. Holds better and stays in place longer.
hes such an awesome instructor! thanks drew, i think you just save my lifeee
Great tutorial - love the close up!
Really glad I saw this video; directing the section forward before "packing" the hair down turned out to be the ticket that had eluded me.
Salome7 also doing a section in front the height of the backcombed section makes its look so neat and effortless! Glad I watched this too!

What is smizing?
I wish you could get volume without damaging your hair. I'm unwilling to back comb lol.
