I took the tube out first. Made the job so much easier. I tackled the electrical connector from the top. Slid right off. Because i have an auto trans i attached a couple of heavy duty plastic ties to the trans dip stick tube and used a ratchet strap to ratchet the dip stick away to give me more room at the back of the valve. I did have a problem lining the tube back up but that was my fault. All in all a good job and it took about 1 1/2 hrs. Thats including the Wheel back on,torqued up and fender guard on. Thank you for your video.
90k on my 3.8 and got my first egr code, had no idea what I was in for. Very informative, I think I can pull it off, cleared the code and will wait for it to reoccur before tackling the job. Thanx !
Yep, replacing mine, first screw I turn and “snap”, sheared right off, no big issue, it snapped in the valve (8mm one), as long as the head is off, nothing stuck in the tube. It’s the 10MM ones I don’t want to snap, sprayed them down with some penetrating oil, let it soak overnight
I can’t get my connector off. Been stuck for 2 days trying. It seems like it’s stuck on there. I accidentally broke the red lock thing off when I tried to unlock it. So it should slide off but it is stuck!!

Also, might add, I’ve found that a light smear of heavy grease on the gaskets helps hold them in place while trying to line everything up.
Why not take the tube out too, thru the top to make more room.
whats the red thing you are adding to the rachet 8mm ?
It's a thumb wheel Ratchet to help turn the socket with your fingers easier
@@TugsGarage That thumb wheel ratchet was a life saver.

I eventually got it off. Forgot to update this! Hahaha this job is a bitch though! I’d replace my radiator any time than doing this!! Haha.
