I love listening to John play the guitar in a rock context. This sounds like an informal party tape, more of a "lounge" effort. Not to be held against his more formal body of work.
@funkyphantom1 yeah i read something some days after the live earth show, he said something about the chilies and the foo fighters but remarked the name JOHN FRUSCIANTE i don't remember quite well what he said but it was something possitive.. cheers
John looks younger without long hair and beard, especially without the beard.. I love the look he had during californication or sometimes during 2004-2008.. now he looks weird.. but I still ♥ him
looks like Joaquin Phoenix from Rainmaker at :13, Eddie Vedder at :16, Boner from Growing Pains at :24, Justin Timberlake at :39, Wynona Ryder circa 1993 at 1:13, and Jesus at 2:28
I didn't put John and George in the same bracket, you did! When you used as an argument the fact that Frusciante was "good" just because he was in "one of the biggest bands of all time, 10 or so solo albums and a huge following...". I'm afraid but I was caught in what it seems to be a "Frusciante Fan Channel" where the mandatory truth is that this dude can be comparable to real musicicans and composers as Roy Orbison, Bill Frisell or György Ligeti.
Sorry, dude... but your examples are too weak... JF is a fucking REAL MUSICIAN and COMPOSER. You obviously are the kind of person who only knows a few songs of Chili Peppers and THINK you can judge his music. Here I say a few, meaning like about 20 songs, and more likely you only know 5. And it’s most likely you only know those “most famous songs” of theirs, which totally can’t showcase how genius he is, not to mention his solo work! I hate the most when I see people like you give out comments like this. Say anything after you really listen to enough of his music.
@eycarla you should google for "free youtube converter" a simple program to rip the sound of YT to MP3. Cpoy paste the url into the program and then comfirm...done.
Hmmm, really? Madonna and George Michael also have a lot of albums and a huge following. I suppose that makes them "two of the biggest artists of all time".Well, if they are... you're perfectly right, this dude really is an "artist"!
Practicing 15 hours a day doesn't ensure that someone will be a good musician. Proficient with their instrument, probably. But you can find thousands of musicians that can noodle on a guitar in very technical ways, but end up sounding generic because there's no real creativity there. I've heard all of his stuff, including with Mars Volta. Just not my thing.
Are you talking about John? Are you talking one of the most creative guitarists in the world? Are you talking about the guy that is the most featured and recognized by the soul and emotions he puts in his guitar? Technical? Generic? I can be sure you don’t really listen to enough of his work even if you claimed to “have listened to all his work” If you think his music gross, there’s NO WAY you listen to ALL OF HIS WORK. Even as a huge lover of his, I haven’t listened to ALL OF HIS WORK. Cut your crap. Or you’re not talking about John? If so, forget about whatever the fuck I said.
