Okay, at 0:50 you see the the chord progression. Now take a look at what should have been the same chord progression at 1:23 and you notice he messes up. He wasn't telling Anthony to shut up, in fact the only thing you can hear him say is fuck. Anthony and Chad probably stopped thinking they made him messed up but John kindly takes responsibility at the end and says that it wasn't them he just learned that song that day.
I really think that he’s one of the most unique and creative guitar players of a generation. And it’s crazy because you have flea who is also one of the most unique and creative bass players. Truly John is the king of inflection….. One of my favorites, his style, musical knowledge, how he applies it, and how he understands space and harmony within the band. They All complement each other so Perfectly, and nothing against Josh, but John has his own personal musical frequency.

it seems you may not have discovered the beautiful of his single albums which i really hope is not the case :(, listen to the album curtains by john, or the empyrean. these are two greats and you will get lost in his masterpieces. and when you can listen to the live albums even, you will see he covers other song beautifully as well.
john s YES! I just recently listened to these 2 albums and you are correct. His songs are beautiful. I listened to some of his live recordings and have to say when he covers other peoples songs, he really makes them his own. Too many people try to mimic others when doing covers. Anybody can be a parrot but a truly great musician plays these songs with their own interpretation.
I'm a huge RHCP fan, I love even their early stuff, but John Frusciante man, like man, I'm an even bigger fan of his, everything he touches seems to turn into a wonderful piece of music. I highly recommend all his solo albums, if you haven't heard of them, To Record Only Water For 10 Days is a good place to get started, The Empyrean, or Shadows Collide With People, and if you like that stuff then check out everything else of his, he has quite a lot of solo albums.
