If your partner has your best interests at heart and want you to stop a bad habit, addiction or obsession with something you gotta be respectful
However if you really crave something do it once or twice and not around them to get on their nerves (don’t hide it from them just be respectful and avoid any problems with them)

I personally think that, we can be our own individual person within the relationship. We shouldn't have to exclude/change who we are to be able to have a partner, unless is a bad habit that affects the relationship. He can have his cigarette while she goes on with what she likes, etc and reunite to couplesome. Everyone is happy.

what is it she expects me to change and why? and if she expects me to change, is she going to do the same for me? shortly after i got engaged to my ex it was like she wanted someone entirely different. she was pushing and pushing for me to change all kinds of things. the music i listen to, what i wear, the food i like, my friends. just one thing after another. some things were minor and i had no issue making the adjustment. others were a bit more drastic and require some valid reasoning as to why i should. and others were argument inducing. now i did make the attempt to try different things like food and music, but there's no way i'm dressing up like some hipster. I wear what I wear. Suit and tie or slacks and a collared shirt outside the house usually. but if i'm in chill mode at home or there's manual labors needing to get done i'm wearing my jeans, t-shirt and my favorite ball cap. Ladies, a bit of fair warning. Don't mess with a mans hat. It doesn't have to be an actual hat either. It could be his favorite show, his truck or his hobby. Every man has his thing that is his. Women have the same thing. You have your thing he has his. The stereotype about a woman changing her man and then not happy with him in the end has truth. You marry a man and then go about changing him. then you're all 'you're not the man i fell in love with.' Well no kidding.

I tell everything. It was one of the initial agreements we set forth at the beginning of our relationship. We are supposed to, even if we think it can be detrimental, let each other know- like, not hide anything. I'm not supposed to play video games, I play video games, I say, "hey, I played video games". Or, "hey, you mind if I play some games?" (Stupid, but only an example), because the point is and was trust and to not fall into the trap of hiding and developing all of these secrets and secret behaviors that can be detrimental in the end. Something like pork, we'd tall about it. But I wouldn't be like, "yo, don't eat that ", unless it was like- something foul and like, a clear risk. Even though, pork is foul. Hahaj

Change for your partner ... - the problem is hardly anyone knows how to pick a partner. BEFORE you get married You should be completely honest who you are and they should be completely honest to in the event you think they are not being honest you end the relationship right their before you get married. The goal is to find someone you KNOW you are compatible with. So be honest and get someone who does maybe a very few things they you do not like then if and when they change or vis versa if and when you change it will not be that big of a deal cause it is only a few things you gotta deal with a person may be able to change a couple of things about themselves but not a lot they should not have to change a lot you all should have figured out before hand how things are between you two.
The things I want my man to change is his hygiene and the way he dress(style). Start slow and then he will get use to it. Don't nag about it. Show and talk about how the way he take care of his hygiene and the way he dress makes you feel good whenever you see him.

Hey. Steve & ladies.. Awesome topic. Here's a tip. Get you a water fall feature up in your lounge. That is far better than any air conditioning unit by far. Filters out all the dust, toxin and heat from not only your living room but can draw it out of your kitchen, bedrooms. So you can smoke yo wad ass cigars to content and she'll never know the difference.

Some bad behaviours YES but never change who you are. Alot of my ex gf expected me to change yet they would stay the same.
I don't believe you should change for someone else. If they love you they love you for who you are. I couldn't date a vegan even if we connected on most things because I do not agree with it and I will not change to a vegan lifestyle for her.
