Just to point out Throwing knives don't disappear in rdr1. There's better spots to slide down in rdr1, and some in rdr2 glitch a bit too. Arthur can't actually swim easily, he's a mid swimmer. It would have been cool to show rdr1 fighting mechanic which is more glitchy but offers a bit more possibilities than rdr2. The foam on water is particularly well made, along with the smoke from the cauldron and the fire below, those are impressively made. Very cool video. Always enjoyable to see how great both those games are

The only game that came closest to having a feature like this was GTA 4, where you could pick up objects from the ground (bricks, rocks, cans, bottles, etc.) and throw them at people. So I think it would be something innovative and cool. Imagine you're on a mission where you're ambushed, captured and left in a place full of enemies, without any firearms, and you have to rely only on melee weapons and hand-to-hand combat to survive. A function to throw knives and axes or even a heavy object like a brick would be very useful in this situation!
I started playing RDR on PC a week ago and while I absolutely adore the game and I think that it's even better to the sequel in some ways but holy fuck how is RDR2 still easily the most gorgeous game to date despite soon being over half a decade old already. Rockstar fucking COOKED and I hope RDR3 or a similar game is in the works.

That time they didn’t have or don’t know why they decided not to implement it, as they did in gta 4. But they had to keep it real as rdr1 is sequel to rdr2, so they had him drowning realistically as possible in game: where he don’t stand but struggle in water for 10secs until he drowns

i will never understand why rockstar made the hatchet and axe a throwable weapon in the game, kind of stupid since we already have tomahawks and with a hatchet you cannot throw them in real life because they are long, you would most likely fig the throw or hit yourself in the face with the handle, having them as melee would have been better. look at skyrim its a 20 year old game and it has 2 handed melee for giant weapons but your not mobile and cant block and 1 handed weapons for quicker and weaker swinging but instead of red dead redemption 2 doing that they just copy and paste the axe and hatchet into a tomahawk so you throw them.
I like both of them tbh they are both stunning. RDR2 just edges it much better graphics and missions. RDR1 doesn't look dated at all compaired to some older games. I'm enjoying playing it after completing RDR2!
Fun fact about red dead 1, R* didn’t know how to make the swimming animations for John so in red dead 2 they just rolled with it and said he can’t swim
I think john just can't swim cause I dide in water as him in rdr2 too, he didnt even try to swim at all, all stamina just drains instantly and health bar starts going down quick unless you gtfo the water FAST...
The swimming isnt exactly fair in the games "lore" John aka the main protagonist in RDR 1 cant swim while Arthur the main protagonist of RDR 2 can swim you should redo the test after reaching the ending of the game (still results in john drowning)
Rdr2 has better graphics better physics and customisation while in rdr1 u cant make ur own outfits u cant customize ur gun but both games are good but theyre very different in my opinion

The swimming one is wrong. Arthur can swim in the water, but after you become john, you can no longer swim.
