Zepla was too nice to this Summer Outfit Full Set Andy in my opinion but great Video overall, she should do stuff like this more often another one with Asmon together would be nice when he gets back to FF14.
I remember when Zep and Asmon did their glam contest together and Asmon had to explain to her what a Firelands Andy is and why he is against full sets in competitions. Flash forward to now, and Zepla’s first question when looking at a decent glam is “Okay, are these from the same set?” She has learned well. She is the successor.
From the transmog contests that Asmon used to run, doing it once per month while alternating between EU and NA, (and introducing themes like couples and glam+mount) was a pretty good pace. They take hours and it's far too easy to burn out of creative ideas if they're too frequent. Making them more infrequent meant the participants would go big dick every time, and every single one was a MUST WATCH for viewers.

I am the one who asked the littlest hrothgar to show of my glam for me (I play on the primal DC so sadly I could not do it myself) So I can in fact confirm that glam was for the memes, I stumbled across the helm and thought "I have to do something dumb with this."
Yeah, official glam contests wherer people can do emotes with their glam would be nice. I miss Asmons glam contests in WoW, and don't even play wow... also a podium, where the 1st place gets their character drawn by an artist. Q_Q
2 is the sweet spot, I think for set items. Having only 1 of each is amazing if it works, but it's hard to pull off. 2 is enough to make a theme to work off of. 3 items from the same set or higher is just too much, at that point you're basically wearing a set with a piece or two just missing.

I used my free fantasia to go to Miqo'te about a month ago because I really disliked the battle voice (FemRoe 11), and didn't want to use a fantasia just to change the voice (plus I thought I'd go back to that character's Miqo roots for a bit, and also ShB reasons). I intended to go back to FemRoe with EW launch, but I'm not sure I can now. I played a FemRoe alt, and the movements seem so slow and lumbering in comparison to Miqo. Plus it's nice to not have glams seem so huge or stretched. After watching the video, some truly spectacular glams. I agree largely with your ratings. I think if Shiryu dyed the ears the same color as his hair, had bomb earrings, and switched pants, his glam would be a lot better. Imperia really deserved her score. Honestly I don't think I've seen a cooler looking Elezen. Makes me regret I can't stand their animations, as they look elegant and lovely in their glams. Overall an interesting and entertaining video with largely unique glams.
There are some really really awesome outfits in this game like 15/10. And on the opposite end theres really awful fucking outfits. The player expression is off the charts and with that comes a lot of goofy looking shit.
I agree I love black outfits but pyromancers glam contest is proof people are afraid to try other stuff or just don't think to. EVERYONE was wearing black. Fuckin everyone except an orange miqote and she didn't win lol.

Voeburtite caster's top from Dohn Meg in ShB. I think there's a dyeable version in another dungeon, but I rocked that top on my SMN for 73-77. I believe it is the dark brown dye if you want to match things to it.
People who wear a full-set of gear, as their glam, don't know how to glam. Need to break it up, and take things from different content, and come up with something unique. Not, "Let me buy this set, dye it, and ask people to rate my glam."

You’re correct some pieces just don’t work without the other from the same set and ultimately it’s to look good just a plus if you got creative with it.
I don't think it's so much that sets look bad. Sets look amazing, they are literally peices that vibe with each other. But if your talking about taking them into a glam contest, from a judges perspective, they wouldn't be judging *your* creativity, but the devs and designers of the pieces. If you happen to use two or three pieces from the same set I don't think that should necessarily be held against you, as long as the other pieces change the look enough to make it feel unique and creative.
Lol those first few glams were weak!! I can't stand the casual glams they break the immersion of the fantasy world when ur dressed like the kid hanging outside of H&M. However I could see use for them in role playing i wouldn't show up to a club in knights armor lol. Situational I guess but that's the beauty of this game that it even allows everyone to express themselves how they see fit.
way too nice on all of these. the first one was trash and basic as fuck 2/10. The second one had nothing that went together but colors worked 4/10. The third was again just a basic copy pasted boring set totally unoriginal 3/10. The astro was nice everything went together 8/10. fifth the same was a basic theme but done originally 5/10. sixth was good, a little edgy for my taste but I understand the look they were going for and it was pulled off well 8/10. seven is boring, sure the chest was removed but who cares? 6/10. eight was great all around 9/10 since the upper body was the same set.

I really don't get the whole hatred for "Same Sets" If the set looks good it looks good, who cares?
The problem is they didn't put any effort in to the outfit. The point is to be creative and using the same set is the complete opposite of that.
