Everything I've read days I have to do a scratch coat with lathe, or attach durock cement board for the stone to attach to. Did you use a different mortar that allows to skip those steps? I'd love to be able to just adhere like you did here
My house has a smoother face to the brick. Many repairs that the brick does not match. Also many spots of chipped or Spalding brick. Do I need to prep differently to do this with a normal thin brick. Also I have bump outs that I want to keep but use a white sand stone for a better look.
What a brilliant job. To be honest I didn't know how it would turn out till you grouted the stone and then I was amazed how good it looked. Your skills make a less than perfect stone look incredible.
I really love your videos man please keep making them, Im just starting to lay after 4 years of being a labour, watching your videos you do very nice work I learn a lot, so thank you!
Thank you sir, Appreciate the kind words,, I wont stop I really enjoy doing it👍🏽.. Welcome that was a long time be a labor . Smart decision keep doing it bricklaying is fun! Good luck!
Need your advice. So I Have a 1920s brick building client wants to stucco over the exterior he’s keeping the interior brick wall exposed cause he likes the look. What would be the proper steps to cover the Brick ? He wants to apply 3M vapor barrier around the whole building then 2 inch iso followed by stucco procedure. Will applying the 3M 3015 VB on the exterior brick cause the brick not to breath properly and dry ?
@ menincotu...My friend and I were saying the same thing that Ryan teaches well. We think he could consider teaching in the school as a technical teacher at the high school level.
Mason for 30 years and yes it is something to be concerned about. If you choose to do it you should consider a waterproof seal about every five to ten years.
Ive tried doing veneer with that mason bond 400, doesnt stick worth sh!t, I dont think there are any polymers in that stuff, what are your thoughts? I ended up using ardex 77.
Good job, going to do the same thing, I have a question, Am I able to remove siding and install this brecks? If yes what layers should I install behind the breck ?
Great work. The music however, is really annoying. It's so repetitive and loud. I kept having to turn it down to zero in between your narration, which is mainly what I wanted to hear
Once it done right it should last for a very long time go, If you have falls off issue that means the material that you use is not good enough for the veneer stone,
I'm glad your keeping busy. Nice work . And that setting material King 400 is the bomb. I used it on a project in Etobicoke ont . It works amazing. I didn't have to shim any of the stone .. Nice work BTW
Thank you so much for watching! Don't forget to subscribe for more upcoming video like this one, Thank you for your support❤

How long until they fall off with the freeze and thaw cycle in Canada? Not very much holding them on
My thoughts exactly. Once water gets in-between and freeze, the veneer will pop.
Just wondering how expensive it is for a project like that?
Wow amazing job man. What is that stone called its beautiful?
Excellent video. We'll explained, thanks.
Nice job. Really smartened up that messy brickwork. A bit like tiling.
Thanks 😁

@ menincotu...My friend and I were saying the same thing that Ryan teaches well. We think he could consider teaching in the school as a technical teacher at the high school level.
Appreciated that!🙌🏾maybe one day 😊
Wow, nice job, great video.
Thank you very much!
If you were to parge do you use a specific parge mix or do you just parge it with the mortar your using in the video??
Thanks
Did you use grout or mortar to fill in the gaps?
we need this guy in south carolina
thank you 😊
Is the process different it the brick has been painted.?
yes its different
P.s I love the inspirational speech in the background!
👍🏽😊
Great video! Gonna do this to the front of my house do I gotta worry about water getting in between the two and popping the veneer off in the winter?
Mason for 30 years and yes it is something to be concerned about. If you choose to do it you should consider a waterproof seal about every five to ten years.
@@berinmind would parging help?
Hi, looks good, what material did you use to fill up the joints at the end? Type S mortar?
yes you can use type s mortar mix
Nice video!! From a fellow Torontonian!!
Thank you ✊🏾
It looks so good! You made it look so easy
Thank you, 😊👍
Love the city views in the beginning
You do 😊🤙🧱
Awesome work!
What kind of blocks are those? Cost of the square footage you did?
Its around 12.to 13 Dallas
Wow the before and after is awesome
Thank you 🙏
I like what you did!! Nice, ok so what’s the name of that stone? Also what did you use for it to glue on the brick? Cement or some Adhesive?
Nice job that stone looks to be right pain to lay. Would a mortar gun be easier to fill up the joints
It is a pain in the ass to lay😁.. Definitely make it easier with a mortar gun, I need to get myself one
Man in a class by himself
🙌🏾🙌🏾✊🏾✊🏾

I don't think it's that good either, but that's the client trice, steals, I would recommend to use,,mapei. It's the best in my opinion
Good job, going to do the same thing, I have a question, Am I able to remove siding and install this brecks? If yes what layers should I install behind the breck ?
You will have to put scratch coat Are cement board ,before stone installation
How long did it take start to finish? (What size sq ft house ?) and what’s the average cost for this type project?
How well does the stone stay if you live in climate that has hard winters and hot summers (Midwest)
That would depend on the type of material you used to install it.. It should stay on the wall in any weather if you use the right material.
Hey great work. How much does a job like this cost? Price per sqft?
Average prices are on 12 to 13 per sqft for labour, Material range from 6 to 10 bucks per square feet.
Great video!
nice bro. subcribed!

Awesome video man..thank you 👍👍
Thank you glad you enjoyed the video👍🏽🧱
Great job again. What if my bricks are painted? What do I use to adhere the mortar?
What type of paint do you have on the brick
In my case I have no clue what the last home owner used to paint the brick, but I’m searching for the same answer! Pls help
What kind of morder did you use for over brick
We just applied the stone right onto the brick

Great work.
The music however, is really annoying. It's so repetitive and loud. I kept having to turn it down to zero in between your narration, which is mainly what I wanted to hear
Very nice. What did you use to fill in gaps in the end there?
i used per mix mortar type S
Any grout between the stone?
yes we grout it after we finish lay them
What a difference nice job 👍🏻
Thanks 😁🤙👍
How many square Feet per day can you lay? Thanks for these videos!
depends on the area im working on
A good video, that stone must be really hard to lay,but looks good you must have a lot of patience I would have walked
Thank you..😁its very hard to lay
The content was exactly what I was looking for....but, it was too difficult to understand what he was saying. Beautiful job though.
That brick wasn’t painted, how if it was?
There is chemical to remove the paint before you lay the stone
😍😍😍😍
Can anyone tell me how well this will weather? If done right, how long before it fails? I never want to do this again!
Once it done right it should last for a very long time go, If you have falls off issue that means the material that you use is not good enough for the veneer stone,
1kb construction what’s your opinion of the best mortar?
MAPIE mortar, That's the best in my opinion And that's the one I use.
Very very nice Ryan
I would like wash the side
Blood clot nice job!!
😆😆thank you, Respect 🙌
blessid
I would dampen that brick before I put the stone in.
Nice and clear!
Thank you
Oh my God Ryan what have you got yourself into now .
Oh men😁
I'm glad your keeping busy.
Nice work .
And that setting material King 400 is the bomb.
I used it on a project in Etobicoke ont .
It works amazing.
I didn't have to shim any of the stone ..
Nice work BTW
Thank you..yea im very busy ..king 400 it works 👍
U do good work bud but like u said that product is trash
Thank you, yea its not the best stone to choose
So does the mortar and veneer add an extra layer of water proofing?
Great info. Please stop loud electric music and red floating text. I'm not at a disco.
