I'm impressed with the engine rebuild. Few engine rebuilds have such great paint jobs.

That orange/brown coating on the inside of the trans is Gliptol©, a coating developed by G E for coating the windings on electric motors but also a speed secret for sealing the porous cast iron on engines, including promoting quicker flow back into the pan in hot rod applications. A good idea for it's sealing properties... Very expensive per gallon but it works the best. It's in every engine I build!!!

Nice detail work! Great to see the work put into these old fords! I’m working on a 79 f350 restoration but not to the detail of what your doing!
I’ve primarily collected truck parts from 77 on up….don’t have much pre 76 stuff other than a 1970 360 with 70k miles …4x2 trans and all.

    Matt,
Just found your channel and I am addicted!
    Your videos are confidence inspiring!
I am restoring my bone stock, 63K mile, one owner 1975 highboy, 360FE automatic in NH( not many survived in the Northeast) and am in need of an engine harness for it. Where did you get the new one you added to your engine rebuild/refresh on the 69 Harbor Blue Highboy resto?
Need more content on this truck as well!
    Thanks for what you do.

NEVER KNEW about the longer fan "snout" on the Highboy...my 71 Highboy has the longer fan snout (4-blade) and I have tried without success to install a fan shroud...there's no fan clutch, too. I could install a new radiator with electric fan that comes on when engine gets hot and also manual toggle switch while keeping the factory fan. I did this on a Camper Special and its an awesome system...the electric fan so quiet.

4 blade fan is better less drag better MPG . As you can drive without a fan there only there for in town stop 🛑 lights etc . Also that 5 blade will be louder . Nice Job though keep it up 👍🏻🇦🇺💯Brian Tasmania .

Probably not up to your standards but I’ve been having good luck with Chinese Amazon carbs. I think I paid like 50 bucks for the last one 2 years ago. It still runs fine. A new motor craft couldn’t do any better.

    Hello Matt,
Thanks for your awesome videos. They have been an incredible help rebuilding my 1966 F-250 4X4. Could you tell me where I could find new brake likes for the Dana 44HD front axle like you have in this video. They are impossible to find.
    Regards,
    Jeremy

I got a deal on a NP435 and a Dana 24 (2-speed) transfer case. Having them rebuilt. Water damage in the trans. Had the cases magna-fluxed. New bearing on the Dana...more parts and work on the tranny.

It’s an oil gallery plug (like a tiny freeze plug) if I remember right it was just left over from a engine gasket kit. I don’t remember the size.

Could get two old highboy axles...Dana 44 front & Dana 60 rear...but guy wants $800 for each. Too much. What do you think?

    • @TheWhyteRhyno77
      @TheWhyteRhyno77 2 роки тому

Seems a bit steep. Is the front a closed knuckle or open knuckle? Disc or drum brakes? If you’re going for originality it might be worth it but you could do a super duty axle swap for that kind of money and get heavier duty axles with upgraded brakes and better front suspension.
