- Today we go into Snapshot 20W15A and make use of the new minecraft game mechanic of ice over soul soil. This minecraft nether update has brought a tonne of interesting new minecraft features, many of which are building update related, but there are some interesting new technical minecraft features too!

Ah! I hadn't watched ilmango's video, only saw the thumbnail with the one wide design (Which I think came to every persons head when they heard of the new change!)
Hadn't realized he had done some extra bits in his video, including a 2 wide sunken in the lava lake build. Looks cool! Have now chucked his link in the description.
Still, I enjoyed building up this fancy version... And I am considering building even more fancy versions in the future! :D

in redstone language a machine the size of a room is pretty average

@@dayafeickert6752 what if take a few blocks back where there is just nether racks but align it to lava. its a flying machine after all. and then just clear the path way then it will eventually reach lava. kinda tricky to pull off but also simple. just my idea for building it in survival

my first world in which i extensively used the nether, i always built tunnels through the air, as i not only started next to a nether fortress, but several routes towards temples and rare biomes were next to fortresses aswell. I got really sick of not only being shot at by ghasts, but blazes too all the time.
Ended up making ice roads for boats eventually

Blindness effect already gives you the ability to see underlava.
@@ibraheemshuaib8954 there is no good way to give yourself the blindness effect except for the 5 seconds from a suspicious soup. But the suspicious soup can give randomized effect.

@Shrek Wes if you want it to look nice? Yes, it is hard, cause basalt is rotatable, and it will look differently. The only way to make it look the same is to build it up from the bottom, which requires fire resistance or use instaminable block, like slime, but there's a high risk of it falling into lava.

SalDan honestly tho striders are really bad. They go round the speed of a boat, and you have to find one, get a saddle plus the fishing rod, and ride it. And also getting off it you can fall in lava

I don't tend to mess around with Redstone but seeing my most recent nether spawn I might use this
