That's me! I'm into my 3rd week of knee replacement. I do have alot of stiff knee but Therapy, icing it has help. Today I was at 92 degree. Thanks to my therapist. I exercise alot on my own, but I don't want to over do it. 2 maybe 3 months from now my left knee is next.
Hang in there and you should see improvements over time! Best of luck with your continued recovery and best wishes for when you have your second knee replacement, too!
12 weeks out and I've hit a wall with PT. Today was the first time my doctor brought up MUA. I was making good progress until week 10 then everything seemed to fall apart. Increased swelling and stiffness that I did not expect this far out.
Sorry to hear about your difficulties... continue with your therapy and staying on top of your pain and hopefully you're able to "turn a corner" and get back on track. Either way, if an MUA is warranted it oftentimes is very beneficial with helping to regain a greater range of motion. Best wishes to you!
That's me you just described. Am 1 month into my Plica Mediopatellar Arthroscopy surgery. My knee joint is stiff and still slightly swollen making it difficult for me to bend my knee. My knee bend is only 70 degrees which is really bad, considering it's been a month since my knee surgery. I did Akupunktur few days ago, but no fluid came out because the scar tissue has thickened. I will be going for another MRT Scan next week. According to another surgeon i visited after the MRT Scan i might have to get another Arthroscopy surgery done again to clean out the scar tissue and debris from my knee joint. That will be reliving the pain all over again 😢.
Sorry to hear about your difficulties after surgery.. I hope you are able to find the appropriate treatment to provide improved mobility and decreased pain.
I had my total knee replacement almost 6 weeks ago and I only have around 60 degrees of motion. I still have a lot of swelling and pain. I'm praying my MUA will get me to 90 degrees.
Hi Christina, That's rough and I hope your doing well being 5 months on.. Can I ask if you had an MUA or do you have a better RoM now, I'm 8 weeks post op and have a slow to bend and hold the knee bend and for me I had lots of swelling until week 6 making everything 4 times as difficult than my other knee. I haven't seen my surgeon yet and that's because he's 400 klms away but tomorrow I am seeing my GP to ask for x-rays, scans, or even an MRI to show my surgeon to assess my progress and to see where I go from here.
@@specialized29er86 I'm about 4 months post MUA and had better rom of approximately 110. I developed a cyst in the front of my knee and a numb patch on the side of knee that has caused some reduction in rom. My surgeon said it's still healing so at this point he's not worried about it. Please get the MUA as soon as possible, regardless of the cyst I'm able to walk and move much better. Good luck with your gp appointment, keep me posted.
Sorry to hear about your difficulties... Your range of motion appears very limited for this far out from surgery. I would consult with your surgeon and healthcare team to see if you'd be appropriate for an MUA.
@@KneeReplacementTherapists I will talk to them about it when I see him on 12/14. Quad still very very week. I’m able to left my heal off the floor a few inches but no straight leg lefts at all
8 weeks post op and wondering is having the arthroscopic keyhole procedure for one slow to bend knee a possibility instead of undergoing the very painful and worst than my bilateral knee replacement surgery and recovery pain..
Arthroscopic surgery to break up scar tissue adhesions is a potential treatment for stiff knee syndrome but typically is only considered after extensive physical therapy and usually an MUA is a more preferred first option if PT alone is not enough
I have had several new replacements I just went from a partial to a full,, have very limited movement and it's only been a week but very limited and I cannot get in-and-out of bed because it don't bend a little bit to even get in what is next for me is it too early to figure anything
Thanks for your question... typically you'll want to wait a few weeks and continue with intensive therapy and range of motion exercises, but if you are having continued stiffness and not hitting range of motion goals or targets I would recommend consulting with your surgeon's office.
Im 95 after TKR..... Five weeks out. Gtting my other knee done in four weeks... Praying i can get to 110
Continue to stay consistent with range of motion exercises every day and you will continue to see slow but steady improvements. Best wishes!

Often, an MUA can help you achieve a significant amount more range of motion. Hope it goes well for you, too. Best wishes!

I will be having a MUA soon .I had a new Knee in July and I still can't Bend it absolute Nightmare
Sorry to hear about your struggles, I hope the MUA procedures provides a lot of benefits and improved range of motion.
