Unboxing Adventures By Disney Vietnam Laos Cambodia - I'm On My Way!

So I've kept this trip under wraps for months as it's meant to be a surprise graduation gift for Sage as well as a work adventure. Back in December, I decided I was not going to wait any longer. I was going to make an ABD trip happen NOW. At the time, there were no spots available for the Vietnam trip in June- the only possible time we could go because Sage will be preparing to head off to college which starts in August. Tanya from Journeys Travel was standing by but she was worried for me. I told her I'm a lucky person; we will get on this trip. I could feel it. And we did!
I have now spent countless hours and days putting together the flight itinerary since the lazy agents in the Disney travel dept. were worthless, doing the bare minimum to come up with the outrageous quote of $21k for the three of us to fly from SLC to SGN! In less than 10 minutes on the Delta website, I found fares for around $6k total. But that still wasn't good enough. I called my friend Bonnie at 360traveltips.com and she walked me through how to sign up for travel credit cards that offered huge points bonuses for signing up and then how to convert those into miles. Using 230k points and some cash, I was able to purchase 3 tickets SLC-SFO, SFO-SGN, Siem Reap to Bangkok (BKK), BKK to SGN, SGN - SFO, SFO-SLC. It's one hell of a journey but flying out of SF gave me the best bang for my points. Total came to $3100 for all of us. Take that Disney!
Today a big box arrived to welcome us on our journey. Some of you who follow Disney channels may notice that we didn't get any pins in our box like others have. Not sure if something has changed or if we will get pins along the way (I would love this alternative rather than lugging a big batch of pins around before we even start, so I'm hoping that's the plan.)
