HOWEVER, in this video, I will teach you how to become a travel agent specializing in Disney destinations! When many people think about becoming a Disney travel specialist, they have no idea where to start! Thank you for sharing this informaron. I am now a Stay At Home Mom and looking to find a way to be a bit independent and still contribute some how monetary wise to our household. You have honestly encouraged me to look into becoming a travel genie 😊. I know being a SAHM is a job on its own but I can see myself still being excited doing this job and fulfilled. I’m the planner In our family and plan everything down to what outfit everyone wears during our entire trip tenure 😂 my husband thinks I’m nuts. Hi- is there a difference between large and small agencies? I interviewed with 2, one of each kind and the larger(1000+) seemed to have more benefits, but I like the idea of a small group to get to know and a training class.
Really considering career choices for my future and I typically am really crazy about places like Disney and universal. I saw your video from two years ago recently and I'm more enticed by this type of job. Do you have any advice for considering being a travel agent as a career choice? (I'm a junior in highschool).

At this time, we only work with US-based agents, but I know many Canadian agency owners and would be happy to help you get in touch.

Do you provide leads or do we seek them out ourselves?
Do you know when you will be opening up the application to become a Genie ? By the end of the year I will have helped 7 families plan their Disney vacation, and I have done it for free. It’s just been close family friends and members of our extended family who have asked me to help them. They all know I don’t have the experience or work as a travel agent, what they know is I love Disney and travel often to Disney. The joy I feel when I have helped them plan gives me pure joy and excitement. I love when they come back and I get to hear and see how their vacations went and the memories they created.

If you don’t have a lot of travel experience, can you still be a travel agent? For me I’ve lived in Florida and I’ve been to WDW hundreds of times growing up and have a lot of experience with that but not so much Disneyland, cruises, etc. because WDW was most accessible financially to me. Do you have any tips to start off with for people who would be absolute beginners?
For my team, it's important that you've experienced things as a guest, not just as a local! So we require overnight hotel stays. You get a much different experience as someone staying at the resorts than you do when you drive home at the end of the night. Other agencies surely have different requirements, but for us, the true travel experience that comes with staying on property is super important! Even if you can just get on property for the weekend a few times a year will really help!

Hello! Thank you for all the information! This might be a stupid question but if you are considered an independent contractor does that mean you can have your own business name or would your company name be the agency you’re hired under like “friend like me travel co?”
This depends. Friend Like Me Travel Co. is an Earmarked agency and as such, Disney requires all of the agents to use the Friend Like Me Travel Co. name!
Does this mean you don’t require new hires to set up their own LLC beforehand?
Correct!

It can be three Walt Disney World trips! But it can also be 1 Disney Cruise and 2 Walt Disney World trips, etc.
