The whole time I was watching this, I was thinking, "Not only does he have to have a gameplan prior to starting - not only does he have to do the work - but he has to be conscious of camera angles and what the final edit will look like." Dude, you are a freakin' rockstar. What an amazing amount of effort. Incredible.Thank you so much for sharing this. I'm so stoked for you.
Amazing attention to detail here. Your obsession with the aesthetics is what makes you a great mix engineer. You're also going to make a lot of folks jealous and inspired. This certainly gave me some ideas for re-vamp my own space. You should be very proud, Colt. Now get back to work! 😂
Still here bro. Almost moved to tears in watching your emotions go from defeated to victory. I am working with Gavin myself (total DIY house build) and somedays it is hard to get out of bed. Seeing the joy you experienced in finishing the room and saying "it was worth it" was the biggest motivation shot you could've given me. I'm maybe a month or so from finishing the control room and then I have to start working on my other rooms in the build. I AM TIRED. Congrats on a job well done!
This is killer! As someone who's built MANY studios over 25 years, I understand the pain of staying motivated when things get tough but WOW, the feeling when it's done is unreal. Keep up the great work!
oh man! If I weren't from Argentina, I would go and give you a hand with all that work! Despite how tiring it takes to see the result, I know that hearing the difference will be very gratifying!
Mad props to you man. Amazing that you did the build alone. When I struggle with motivation on projects that will enable me to do a better job I just remind myself that it is a privilege to have the opportunity to do the work :) Again, fantastic job
im still here and very happy to see you doing this upgrade, I can only dream about something like that rn but Ill get there evehtually. Also, as a human, I do not want the cool stuff only, I also want to see the hard work that goes into putting the effort and hackyourself to get things done, cos, is something I also struggle with.
Great work Colt and thanks so much for sharing! - So reminiscent of the journey Eric Valentine went through in his studio. Amazing amounts of work you both put in.
Hey Colt, thank you. I think the most important message from this video is that nothing comes easy. It’s all hard work at the end of the day. I wish you continued success.
It looks like a beautiful space to work in, just as much as it seems to be well tuned and better behaved too. Congratulations. Watched til the end. Always do 👍
Watched entire vid. Haven't seen content from you in awhile. I needed this. Been running low in motivation myself in my studio. Feeling recharged. Thanks Colt
Fantastic video! Colt also has mad construction and electrical wiring skills, this is a ton of manual work that he did mostly himself. Amazing perseverance and dedication to his craft.
What a massive undertaking and you are a machine! Not only did you do this all by yourself, you had a definite plan, video documented everything and attention to detail is amazing. Thoroughly enjoyed this (and all) your videos.
Great video! I love the cloud and the new lighting and all the new treatment. Thanks again for all of your videos. I have learned so much from them! Just remember if first you don't succeed then skydiving is not for you!
Thank you for sharing this experience with us! And thank for sharing some of the challenges you’ve come across. It’s better to get a cohesive picture of what it takes to take on a project like this. I have zero carpentry skills, so I will absolutely not be doing this 🙅♂️ but regardless, I love seeing home spaces get turned into professional studios.
Colt, I watched every single minute of this video. Can't imagine how many tens of thousands you saved by doing so much of this yourself. What a dream space
Incredible work all around bro. Even on the video editing side, I can see how hard you work and how you show much attention to detail. Best video so far. 🎉
An absolute epic and stellar job, brother! Those of us that know... know. I am getting ready to do the same thing, again. Also, there's no shame in asking for help with motivation. We've all been there, and no one wants to hear platitudes, but good advice is always powerful fuel to get motivated. Stay strong!
Ca. 27:00 you made me happy, not because you are struggling, but because every project has those moments, and it’s great to know we have a community of people who get it. . .even if we never meet. The lesson in perseverance is probably the most important part of this video. Thanks, Colt!
My friend, this was massive! Thank you so much for making it! You are epic! I am currently working on my new basement studio build, and you really inspired me!
Watched it all. So much work and expense! Very nice looking. While I have my room pretty darn flat and sounding good, I did it in not the most aesthetic or permanent way. I spent so much time arranging and rearranging...moving Subs around, crossover points, etc...before I finally got there. The fact that I have an asymmetrical room also added a level of frustration. Wish I could justify (ROI) redoing mine to look like yours! Too bad I will never come out even and do it more as a hobby these days. Great video and very happy for you Colt.
Dude this is by far the best studio makeover I've ever seen. The fact that you did 99% on your own is unbelievable. Congratulations!! Can't wait to see how things will go for you from now on
Hi Colt, I watch all your videos, and I watched every minute of this one ! The story of the treatment of this room hyped me since you starded posting about it's construction. I never doubted for an instant that you would finaly work out something super great, and man you did and showed it so well. Bravo, honestly bravo, thank you for sharing this ! All the effort and sweat you showed on camera are as many proofs of your determination. I'm strugling with the words since I'm french, I just wanna say you're the best haha, now I will just wait for the atmos rig and the Focal-mania you are setting up !😂
Amazing job. Beautiful room. I can relate to the struggle. Much respect for the way you push through. I couldn’t stop watching until the end. Congratulations!
Thanks for sharing your process with us. This is some amazing work. I love the passion, excitement, and quality you put into everything you do. Enjoy your incredibly upgraded studio!
Just a music lover here, thought about becoming an engineer in the mid 80's but didn't. I love your channel. Made it all the way through with 1 pause lol. Keep going Colt. 🤘🎸🤘
I Thank God that found your channel. I'm just 25, and starting out, been producing for just over 2 years, and also planning to initiate on building my own studio starting this winter. You are an inspiration, mentor, and teacher that have tremendously helped me in ways you cannot fathom. Your content is always so thoughtful, and professional (educationally, musically, and visually). From the depths of my heart, Thank You Colt! ♠
1:07:00 makes me think “how cozy is that view in the wintertime?!” I can see Colt having the merriest time in a Santa hat setting the lights a red-white-green pattern, remixing some Christmas music for the heck of it 🎅🏼🎄🎉
AWESOME!!!!! watched the whole video as a blockbuster movie. man - what effort you took to get here. I applaud thee. Await the next video of getting the room up and running again. And most of all, how your first productions/mixes will turn out.
Man this was absolutely epic. My favorite video of you so far. Videos about process, creativity and philosophy resonate so much more with me at this point than gear videos. I understand people still want them and they’re useful but I feel saturated by them. Really happy for you that it worked out so well. Looking forward to seeing the next steps!
This is so inspiring for me because I'm soon doing work on my studio room and watching this whole process gives me motivation and knowledge on how to do it right!
Bro…. Wow! You made a feature length documentary on this process! Super inspiring all the work you put into your space. I’m currently building out my 1st proper space since I left Nashville in ‘08 and getting back into it. Super inspiring stuff here. Your dedication shows through 110%!!! Can’t wait to see what’s next🤘🤘
Definately worth it. You've done the best you can in the room and won't have to wonder again. Doing it properly means doing it once... the benefits will last the life of the room! Once you're used to it, mixing will be faster- it will boost your confidence and much less guessing and tweaking. The look is amazing and sooo pro! Great job.
Tons of respect Colt! Not only did you do all of that work, but you did it with excellence and craftsmanship! The room looks amazing! Congrats on the upgrade 👍That was a journey. Well done 👍
totally appreciate spending this time with you. Enjoyed the project, your explanations & thoughts. but most of all, your attention to detail and your work ethic. Whew! A great way to spend my morning whilst practicing my classical guitar L& R hand continuity studies. multitasking for sure but what a value-creating morning I had. Thanks. Peace and good notes.
Yes it was a long video but i looks great. I've watched the hole video, even knowing I would be a little late to my appointment, but that isn't a problem. I think you where correct when you sais, I think I don't do it after atmos was installed. What a work and most important what a result.
Looks and sounds amazing Colt. You see just by doing those corrections, everything came together nicely. Placement of speakers, treatment and distance to ears etc all plays major roles in the room eco-system. I'm glad You have it up and running. Now for the good parts to come. PS Congrats to Your wife with the opening of her business. Best of luck on the journey ahead. Stay safe buddy.
wow wow....what a project! I'm only at the 28 min. mark(gotta get work done in between segments, lol), so right where you talk about the frustration/motivation issues, and even before that, just watching all the time lapse stuff fly by, I got to thinking just how much work was going on during those sections, and how much time and energy was being used....it was tiring to even consider much less imagine doing. The stuff with the compound angles of the framing and everything....lordy. I'm always so impressed though with how deeply you dig in and how much attention you give to really getting things done right.... as someone else said, all this while making really beautiful video and considering that as well. Looking forward to seeing how this all concludes...I can see from the comments it's a great moment of joy. haha... Anyway...impressive. Inspiring.
Thanks for sharing all this with us. Your videos are super well made and being able to see these processes in this detail is awesome. I know you said you think we don't watch for the struggle, but I can tell you that a lot of us appreciate you showing an honest look at how these things go sometimes. Dealing with stress, struggles, and motivation is a very real part of any project. So often, social media only shows the perfectly staged and presented side of things, so a real look at these processes, struggles and all, is great. Anyway, I've rambled enough haha. Thanks again!
This entire video was fantastic and entertaining, I watched all 80 mins. I loved the original construction videos and this was a great expansion of that. The room looks incredible as well, great work.

Dude, you are a freakin' rockstar. What an amazing amount of effort. Incredible.Thank you so much for sharing this. I'm so stoked for you.
It was an astonishing amount of work haha. Thank you so much!
Not me waiting patiently for Colt to make the obligatory dad joke with the stud finder😂😂😂
It made me so happy. Keeping that one in my back pocket fer suuuure.
Amazing attention to detail here. Your obsession with the aesthetics is what makes you a great mix engineer. You're also going to make a lot of folks jealous and inspired. This certainly gave me some ideas for re-vamp my own space. You should be very proud, Colt.
Now get back to work! 😂
Haha thank you so much!
Watching the fabric wall go up as a time lapse is up there with the most satisfying things to watch time lapse.
Yeah that was dope
Amazing! Thank you!

You got this! It will all be worth it. Let’s catch up soon!
Same. I felt like crying for you a few times.
You can do it!! Just stay moving, even when you don’t want to. I’m rooting for you!!
Colt,
Only one word, buddy.
PERSISTENCE!
FANTASTIC JOB COLT!!! So much work but well worth it and deserved!
This is killer! As someone who's built MANY studios over 25 years, I understand the pain of staying motivated when things get tough but WOW, the feeling when it's done is unreal. Keep up the great work!
That was definitely worth it man. Well done. Hope the lights stay fixed.
Excellent hvac work, dude!
Here for the struggle, brother. Love how your pumped after the buildout. Feeling good about the space will make your work feel less like work.
im still here and very happy to see you doing this upgrade, I can only dream about something like that rn but Ill get there evehtually. Also, as a human, I do not want the cool stuff only, I also want to see the hard work that goes into putting the effort and hackyourself to get things done, cos, is something I also struggle with.
I’m in the process of planning out a room now. Not going so studio extreme but I want a good sounding room. Thanks for the video. I watch em all.
Still Here...And this vid helps so much because im always looking to improve....Very Inspirational for me, Thanks
Yes, worth the time to TREAT it as Right as possible. ( Glad you saved all these Clips for this long period to show us ).
Well worth watching every minute of it. Thanks Colt!
Thanks for all 120 minutes of this!
Great job, Was fun to watch. I can't wait until you start mixing in it and you need to come back and tell us.
Watching at 2x speed helps :). I like the look of the room.

Fantastic video! Colt also has mad construction and electrical wiring skills, this is a ton of manual work that he did mostly himself. Amazing perseverance and dedication to his craft.
Man you are an all in 1 and everything you do is excellent, what a great example you have been for me since I saw your first video, congratulations!
It looks incredible man. Watching the effort and attention to detail over months and months of work is inspiring. Thank you for sharing your journey!

Love the room, waiting on the Atmos.

Really appreciate the stud finder bit 😆
Still here bro!! Great work. Super inspirational! Thanks for sharing your journey.

Congrats Colt! You knocked the build-out of the park, and the result looks incredible!!!
Thank you so much! And thanks for being a part of it!!
Finally finished the video!! Congratulations on all your hard work man!!
the stud finder joke 😂😂😂 enjoying every bit of the video. cheers
1:07:00 makes me think “how cozy is that view in the wintertime?!” I can see Colt having the merriest time in a Santa hat setting the lights a red-white-green pattern, remixing some Christmas music for the heck of it 🎅🏼🎄🎉
Still here!!!
You guys did an amazing job.
Thank you so much!
Extremely informative. Stayed the whole time.
That was nice how those sub positions were finessed
Before this, I had no idea that was even possible!
The amount of work that went on in this video is astounding.
It was a lot!! Haha thank you!
Shoutout to all who have followed this journey from day 1!
Appreciate you my dude!!
🤩🤩 Congrats Colt for this hard work, looking amazing!
Great work. You really display how Multifuser Wood MKII shines in a room. OMG, does is look good!
i love long thorough videos. I like to marinate on a subject, to fully soak it all in. Thanks for a fun learning experience!
Thanks for watching!
I've enjoyed watching that long journey, thanks to share Colt hugs from Dominican Republic 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

What an incredible journey! Buzzing on how the space has turned out. Big love from the U.K. ☺️
Thank you!!
Still here bro You did a great Job with Everything!!! Many blessings bro 🙏❤️
nothing but heat, homie. So proud of your effort in this channel.
Thank you so much!!
Congratulations on making it through, Colt. Happy for you
Made it to the end of the video, amazing progress and looking excellent.
Still here! Great video. Thanks for sharing how much work this took. Definitely looks like it was worth it.
Much respect my friend! Excellent endurance to get ALL of this done!
This is so inspiring for me because I'm soon doing work on my studio room and watching this whole process gives me motivation and knowledge on how to do it right!
I watched to the end.Your voice sounds controlled with a single main reverb. One of the main reasons I watch is because the narrations sound so clear.
Bro….
Thank you so much! Best of luck with your build!
Definately worth it. You've done the best you can in the room and won't have to wonder again. Doing it properly means doing it once... the benefits will last the life of the room! duuuude...you are kicking it...thanks for sharing..
Colt, so happy for you Man! I know this effort took a lot of time, resources, blood, sweat and tears but it will pay you dividends!
I followed the whole video. It was worth it!
Tons of respect Colt! Not only did you do all of that work, but you did it with excellence and craftsmanship! The room looks amazing! Congrats on the upgrade 👍That was a journey. Well done 👍
I am mesmerized still! Awesome!
I was waiting for this video. You hung in there and succeeded! Congratulations!
Saw that stud joke coming a mile away, still made me laugh! Awesome job putting together an actual feature-length video on such a nerdy topic!
I couldn’t help myself! Lol. Thank you!
Still here. Thanks for putting the work in to document this process thoroughly. I especially loved the Knauff shot. Cheers!
You are a warrior!!! I got exhausted just watching you do all that tedious work. Amazing!!!
totally appreciate spending this time with you.
Thank you!
Everything worth doing is hard, I enjoyed the journey thanks for bringin us alone. I'm sure you will enjoy the results
Thank you!

Thank you for saying that, I appreciate you very much!
Looking great colt :) Great work and video its going to rock :)
This entire video was fantastic and entertaining, I watched all 80 mins. I loved the original construction videos and this was a great expansion of that. The room looks incredible as well, great work.
Watched all the way through, and had a blast! Thanks Colt👍
I’m still here and i was hoping to stay put for another hour or so but the whole video was so immersive that I didn’t even notice the time to be honest. One of my favorite parts of the video was when you showed the vulnerability of someone working so hard to accomplish something and at the same time dealing with the daily challenges in life!! Sometimes we (the audience) get this false impression of you (the creators) not having any issues while making videos about your impressive achievements!! Congrats and keep it up and never stop influencing people for good. I found your channel long time ago and now I just started to learn the basics of audio and you sir have been that inspiration.
