Dear Rahulji, Coming straightaway to your question - which you have so graciously put to all your fortunate listeners, whether or not you should produce your creation, expression, rendition or version however you would like to put it, the answer is an emphatic YESSSSSSS and this is not to flatter you or to please you. I would like to elaborate on it a little. First of all although I love ghazals but very few selective ones and that too mostly Mehendiji and Ghulam Ali Sahab I am a very forthright and clear soul by nature and I understand things with their whys and why-nots and don't live in dilemma and confusion so lyrics catch my attention and only if it expresses a part of me I connect, else I skip! Dil-ae-naadan, to be honest is not my ghazal but my mind tuned in and started listening because it was you and I was neutral about it and didn't know I was in for a pleasant surprise when you expressed it in your style and I can't thank you enough for doing so ..have heard it thrice already! You mentioned this ghazal is like the Shivdhanush, believing Ghalibji, Sawai hi and Mehendi Hasanji to be Parshuram whose Dhanush, as Rahul - you broke so then I’m sure you do know how although initially Parshuramji was livid with who broke the divine Dhanush, but when he realized it was none other than 'Ram' he was mighty pleased! Similarly all the stalwarts and greats attached to this Gazal are thrilled with your Version Rahulj and blessing you for sure!. Your character and persona get revealed through your soulful renditions and I have mentioned several times your humility touches the right chord through and through! I think with this ghazal - there are two paths to take. The person can either consider the heart (dil) to be the same as them OR talk to it as a different entity - the result of which is that the ghazal conveys a feel where one is self reflecting or alternatively shouting out to the heart. While both might appeal to an individual, what drives you own personal expression is whether you are internally or externally reflective.

What is this state of affairs? ये परी चेहरा लोग कैसे हैं? गम जा-ओ-इश्व-ओ-अदा क्या है? Who are these with beautiful faces? What are all these side glances, airs and flirtation? (Ghalib questions the role of beautiful women whose attraction eventually causes misery.) हमभी मूंह में ज़बान रखते है काश पूछो कि मुद्दा क्या है I too have a tongue in my mouth (I too can speak) If only you would ask, 'What is the matter?” मैंने माना कि कुछ नहीं ग़ालिब मुफ्त हाथ आये तो बुरा क्या है? I few things I want to say and I am not a music expert or anything. 1. This ghazal or anything that Mehdi saab has sung is a shiv-dhanush indeed. Thanks for your great attempt. I liked it. 2. I have always wondered if famous classical singers can sing as well as famous playback/ghazal singers. The answer is yes and no. There is something in the voice of rafi/kishore/mehdi etc... that does not come through the famous classical singer's redition. On the other hand the classical singer seems so good at improvising and originality. I might have shown my ignorance with that last sentence but whatever. 3. You should put your music on all platforms. There is software for that. YT la sagle paise dyaychi garaj nahin. 4. I love all your experiments and appreciate all the commentary.

गालिब चे शब्द ..आणि खूप खूप मनापासून आळवलेले हे सूर, बोलण्यासारखं खर तर काही उरतच नाही. पण कौतुक करायला शब्दच वापरायला लागतात. साचेबद्ध गायनाच्या फार पुढे नेऊन ठेवली तुम्ही ही गजल..अगदी मेहंदी हसन, गुलाम अली, बेगम अख्तर स्टाईल मध्ये.. कधी तरी एम टी व्ही कोक स्टुडिओ मध्ये एक कार्यक्रम होऊन जाऊन दे..फक्त गजल ना समर्पित.. 🙏🙏🙏

Kyaaa hai?.. this is the essence of the ghazal and you have captured the kyàa hai in the most endearing and is most true to its khayal...is there an answer to my vexation...bahut badhiya.. the original and your (iteration) version are great..but your attempt does full justice to ghalib, khansaheb and kumar. I few things I want to say and I am not a music expert or anything. 1. This ghazal or anything that Mehdi saab has sung is a shiv-dhanush indeed. Thanks for your great attempt. I liked it. 2. I have always wondered if famous classical singers can sing as well as famous playback/ghazal singers. The answer is yes and no. There is something in the voice of rafi/kishore/mehdi etc... that does not come through the famous classical singer's redition. On the other hand the classical singer seems so good at improvising and originality. I might have shown my ignorance with that last sentence but whatever. 3. You should put your music on all platforms. There is software for that. YT la sagle paise dyaychi garaj nahin. 4. I love all your experiments and appreciate all the commentary.

गालिब चे शब्द ..आणि खूप खूप मनापासून आळवलेले हे सूर, बोलण्यासारखं खर तर काही उरतच नाही. पण कौतुक करायला शब्दच वापरायला लागतात. साचेबद्ध गायनाच्या फार पुढे नेऊन ठेवली तुम्ही ही गजल..अगदी मेहंदी हसन, गुलाम अली, बेगम अख्तर स्टाईल मध्ये.. कधी तरी एम टी व्ही कोक स्टुडिओ मध्ये एक कार्यक्रम होऊन जाऊन दे..फक्त गजल ना समर्पित.. 🙏🙏🙏

Kyaaa hai?.. this is the essence of the ghazal and you have captured the kyàa hai in the most endearing and is most true to its khayal...is there an answer to my vexation...bahut badhiya.. the original and your (iteration) version are great..but your attempt does full justice to ghalib, khansaheb and kumar.
