My bounty hunting ship of choice would still be the Gozanti class , it has enough firepower and armor to fend off pirates, it's roomy enough to bring a vehichle and a merc crew and I can haul cargo on my way to bounties. And with how much Gozantis are out there you're pretty much anonymous from afar
Right! It’s big enough you could put a customized power core in to run all kinds of hidden or otherwise custom weapons and you could even dock star fighters to the bottom or hidden in modified cargo pods, depending on if you wanted to run incognito or wanted to show your strength as a deterrent). Also the Gozanti-class cruiser is large enough to use as a base of operations for a decent crew and do cargo jobs as cover or as extra income.
Considering the limited field of fire of its sole double laser cannon on its ventral side for a ship that size, the Hound's Tooth is massively underarmed.
Well, yes, but in Imperial times a ton of weapons would draw a lot of attention and trouble of the not-collecting on-a -bounty sort. Looking like a crappy freighter might have its advantages. Also it's a some-time slaver ship really.
@@OllamhDrab That's why smugglers often have retractable, hidden, or camouflaged weapons emplacements on their ship but that doesn't seem to be the case with Hounds Tooth.

I'm not gonna knock The Hound's Tooth's Bounty Hunter level of versatility. It's an amazing ship! Aesthetically speaking, I wouldn't touch this ship with a 39 1/2 foot pole, it's just not my style. I'm more of the "as functional as it is beautiful" crowd, so the Naboo designs are peak for me. One of my favorite things about Star Wars is that if you got the cash, then any ship can be customized to your liking, for the most part. Meaning any ship could potentially rival The Falcon, but not every Bounty Hunter or Smuggler is going to have that amount of cash.
When talking about its size i think you may be overthinking how incredibly thin the main fuselage is, it's shown in the clone wars to only be about three people shoulder to shoulder wide
2:57 and 3:45 and 3:56 seem to contradict that. Probably some sections are thinner than others, but there are at least a few rooms that are larger than three people wide. Also while thin it was also tall, three decks would allow a lot of space, just oriented differently.
Well the first one's in the cockpit which is definitely wider than the rest if the ship which can be seen from the outside. As for the other two that's a different much larger ship from the episodes of the clone wars where Ahsoka is hunted by Trandoshans. And for the rooms, I love star wars but there's always been a thing of just saying 'oh yeah its got this, this, and this' without thinking out if that could actually fit in there
If I were to choose any freighter/yacht sized ship to be my Smuggler/Bounty Hunter vessel, it would be the J-Type Nubian 327 from Ep 1, a Luxury-300, or almost any ship brought to life by ECHenry that are of relative size.
This should be the start of a new series about bounty hunter ships. I'd love some future installments about Dengar's ship _Punishing One_ or Zuckuss and 4-LOM in the _Mist Hunter._

I know manuvering jets aren't really a thing in star wars. But maybe that is how the fins are used. Maybe by using them to extend out where the jets push from, it allows for different kinds of movement that just having the jets on the main body wouldn't allow?
I was just on Generation Tech's channel on Corellian ships, he mentioned virtually every freighter in their lineup except this one. This would be my choice, hands down, mine would be built for fighting, heavy weapons and armour but giving up speed and maneuverability. It's like a pirate ship and tank had a space baby. The only other fictional ship better than a YV-666 is Space Pirate Captain Harlock's Arcadia.
I could see the Headhunter not only being used as a fighter craft, but as an emergency escape vehicle. Like if the Hound's Tooth ever got attacked by something it couldn't beat, you could sacrifice the bigger ship as a distraction and use the Headhunter to get out fast and jump away. This is assuming that it has a higher speed and faster HJ than the Tooth.
Maybe the maneuvering fins redirect the flow of the exhaust by use of magnetic fields. As for retractable weapons: they are just as effective as fixed hardpoints once deployed.
The long wings could have RCS thrusters in the tips. Longer wings would put them further out from the main mass of the hull, allowing for faster roll rate.
I like the YV-666's utilitarian design, but I just can't reconcile the claim that it's a CEC product. It along with other YV ships don't resemble Corellian designs at all. They're boxy instead of curved, tall instead of flat, integrated internal engines instead of massive external ones, etc. My headcanon is that the YV-series hails from a different shipbuilding company like MandalMotors or Ubrikkian Industries, attempting to compete with CEC in the light freighter market.
Perhaps maneuverability would be a good topic for a future video. The references escape me, but I’ve always understood that space in Star Wars isn’t exactly vacuum. In this case, a solo bounty hunter likely wouldnt be able to fly a larger warship alone. This gives Bosk a large, durable ship at the cost of speed and firepower. A fair compromise for his style.

I was always confused by the side view in the Essential Guide to Vehicles and Vessels. When you look at the engine nozzles (what you can see of them, they're half-obscured by the maneuvering fins), they appear to be pointing up, rather than towards the back (i.e., the way they're shown at 2:54). And when you look at the ship as shown at 5:51, you see the same thing. The ship apparently flies "downwards" by default, which just makes the maneuvering fins (at least, in the default positions in which they're shown) even more pointless.

Now let’s see a Vs video! But against who 🤔
Ingot this 7 stats and relic 5 in galaxy of heroes with a light speed pack. Lets get it.
Speak for yourself, i use Hounds Tooth in SWGoH all the time, it's one of the best Tank ships!
My emersion is always broken when I hear the class of this ship. It is so obvious named by someone in our universe and trying to be edgy.
i want more of Dengar
